She also has various other magical abilities, such as Flier Fin, which allows her to fly by manifesting wings on her shoes, and Protection, which manifests a force field.
Skills: n/a
Personality: Nanoha is a determinator who believes in friendship first, and that no one can truly be evil. However, hurt people she loves, and you will be on the recieving end of a Divine Buster. She also believes that full power works in EVERY situation, and that the best way to make friends is by beating them up.
History: When Nanoha was nine, she found an injured ferret in the woods and nursed it back to health. What she didn’t know was that the ferret was actually a shapeshifted human mage named Yuuno who was searching for items of magical power called Jewel Seeds. The night after she found him, Yuuno was attacked by a jewel seed gone mad, and in desperation, gave his Device, Raising Heart, to Nanoha so she could protect him. Nanoha then jumped at the gun, showed amazing magical proficiency for an Earthling, and went on to beat the crap out of anything in her way. Then she met Fate, another magical girl seeking the Jewel Seeds, who wouldn’t stop at anything to meet her goal. Nanoha, however, was determined to get them all, and couldn’t believe that someone with such beautiful eyes could be her enemy. So Nanoha fought Fate for every Jewel Seed she could, and eventually they were getting to the Jewel Seeds before they could even become monsters. Eventually, the two of them fight, and Nanoha successfully beats the crap out of Fate. Fate also becomes her friend after that, and reveals her intentions. About this time, the Time-Space Administration Bureau shows up, and Fate’s mother’s intentions are revealed, as well as Fate’s true origins. (No, I’m not telling you what they are, watch the show if you’re that curious!) Eventually, Fate’s mom gets the snot beaten out of her too, but she falls to her death when her evil base collapses. Fate is arrested for her role in the whole deal, but is later acquitted.
Later, Nanoha and Fate have to deal with the Wolkenritter, knights who serve the master of the Book of Darkness, and to power up said book, steal the magical cores of mages. During their first conflict with the Wolkenritter, Nanoha has her magical core stolen, and both Raising Heart and Bardiche (Fate’s Device) are broken. They’re later repaired, but only after having the cartridge system installed into them. Eventually, the two of them find out who the Book of Darkness’ master is: a sickly girl named Hayate who has NO IDEA that her knights have been stealing magical cores, and is only sick and wheelchair bound because the book has been eating at her soul and will eventually kill her if its 666 pages aren’t filled (and of course, it will ALSO kill her if the pages are filled, but she’ll get amazing magical powers when she does. The Wolkenritter have no idea about this part.) Upon having all of the pages filled, Hayate ends up activating the book’s powers out of anger when evil twins of Nanoha and Fate slaughter the Wolkenritter, and becomes the manifestation of the Book’s defence program, Reinforce, who then goes on a giant rampage. Reinforce then continues to rampage even after Nanoha and Fate manage to free Hayate from the Book’s grasp, and it requires the combined efforts of Nanoha, Hayate, Fate, a revived Wolkenritter, and the Time-Space Administration Bureau’s most powerful laser cannon to defeat Reinforce. Later on, Reinforce becomes a much weaker, less dangerous version called Reinforce Zwei, and becomes Hayate’s Device.
At least six years after this event, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate all ended up going into the Time-Space Administration Bureau, with Nanoha becoming a training instructor after a crippling accident that almost cost her a large amount of her magical ability due to straining herself too hard. She went on to lead her own division of the Special Management section of the Bureau that specifically deals with Lost Logia and through the incident, managed to adopt a daughter whom she and Fate raise together (This daughter also holds the record for the “most befriended”, as shown by the picture below)
Other: Her catchphrase can be either translated as “Full Power” or “Total Annihilation.” She also likes to make friends by beating them up in various methods, as shown in the Love Meter below. This method of making friends is often referred to as “befriending” in the fandom.
