These are two characters merged in a similar way to Hades and Thane, and as such I'm applying for them together.
Full Name: Hermia (she has no true name. Hermia is what she goes by)
Full Name: Christopher Perkins
Nicknames (Christopher): Chris
Nicknames (Hermia): None
Apparent Age (Hermia): late teens/early twenties
Age (Hermia): 100 years give or take
Age (Chris): 19
Height (Chris): 6'1"
Height (Hermia): 5'9"
Weight (Both): Just under average for their size, with Hermia being a touch closer to average.
Gender (Chris): Male
Gender (Hermia): None. She's completely flat chested. However she prefers being considered female and would introduce herself as such.
Race (Chris): Human
Race (Hermia): Angel
Alliance (Chris): Neutral
Alliance (Hermia): Good
Home (Chris): America
Home (Hermia): She considers the counsel of angels to be her home and their little pocket dimension is where she rests between missions
Franchise (Both): None, but they are from the same "setting" that Hades and Thane are.
Physical Description (Chris): Not much to say about him. He has really short hair that is some kind of mid-point between light brown and blond. He likes t-shirts with smart-alec sayings on them and jeans. He also has a zipper hoodie from adidas. Its red and has the Adidas logo on a left breast pocket. The back is plain. Chris has green eyes and a very light tan.
Physical Description (Hermia): Hermia wears a off-white dress reminiscent of a toga. It tapers down from her waist to form a point that falls just above her ankles. The sides of the dress have an upside down "u" shape with the top being about half-way down her thigh. She has form fitting shorts on of the same color as her dress, so nothing is visible even with the strange dress. A gold rope-like cord is tied around her waist, the two ends hanging down from a knot at her back. They fall to the same approximate length as the top of the upside down u of her skirt.
The top of her dress is loose and sags around the chest in a manner similar to a toga. It sags down very far on her back, the rolled fabric coming a few inches up from the base of her back. A silver fabric is attached to her right shoulder and drapes around her neck forming a kind of half-shawl, also vaguely familiar to some toga styles. She has no sleeves, but most of her lower arms have long silver gauntlets attached to them. They appear to be metal with brass raised edges. The lower edge is around her wrist and the upper edge goes half-way up her lower arm. She can use these as shields against attacks and are supernaturally strong.
She has long blonde hair that she had done up in a braid. The braid falls to the base of her spine. When the hair is down it falls just past her knees. The braid is held in place with a silver (as in the metal) bead like object. Her eyes are a stunning blue but look fairly young, indicating her lack of experience in much of anything that qualifies as dangerous. Her skin is almost ivory white, but due to the nature of what she is, she doesn't burn.
She has two white feathered angel wings that she has the ability to hide but rarely does so. They rest on her back most of the time but if she is trying to be impressive or make a statement she will extend them to their full length.
Weapons (Hermia): Hermia has two weapons, and they can only be summoned and/or used when Hermia is the dominant figure of the merge. Both are indestructable but can blink out of existance if Hermia doesn't have enough energy to maintain it. This is especially important with the sword.
The first is a quarterstaff looking thing a touch taller than what should be right for her height. She can dismiss or summon it with little to no thought or energy. She's quite skilled with this, although she would not qualify as a master.
The main staff looks to be made out of silver wood. There is a grip in the center with gold leather wrapped around it. Other than the metals the staff is incredibly plain.
The second weapon is an ornate long sword that she has on loan from a high ranking angel. It takes a good does of energy to summon, but once its summoned it can only be forced out of existance with the same amount of energy it takes to force her staff away. She can switch between it and the staff at will by dismissing one and summoning the other, but each new summon of the sword is a drain on her energy. She would be considered a skilled novice with this weapon and anyone who knows swordplay could see her inexperience when she used it.
The blade is silver and has some etchings on it. Those who were familiar with holy magic and energies could make out its an incantation to allow the sword to turn into flame as well as a boost to its holy energy, althogh both abilities require activation. The hilt is gold and overly ornate. Think the fanciest real (not anime!) sword hilt you've ever seen and its pretty similar. Various gems seem to be imbedded into it.
Abilities/Powers (Chris): Chris can hold his own in a fist fight. Hes got no skills with actual weapons and if one were brought into the fight would probably lose quickly. He's not really experienced, but he can defend himself against the average person. His strength is about average for his build as well.
Abilities/Powers (Hermia): Hermia can charge her staff with an extremely low amount of holy energy as long as she it touching the grip. Its not enough to turn the tide of a fight, but it does cause a slight attack boost and makes it a touch more useful against those weak against holy attacks.
The sword has far more uses. With a quick incantation and a release of power she can set the blade alight with a holy flame. This requires maintenance and Hermia can only maintain it for a few minutes before the flame goes out and she is severely hampered in a fight. As such she treats it as a last resort measure. The flame works both as a real flame and a holy smiting type thing. This could very easily turn the tide of a fight against an unholy enemy. Unfortunately her skill with a sword means she can rarely connect before having to let the fire go out.
Her preferred skill is charging the sword with holy energy. It is unlikely to turn the tide of a fight but could against the right opponent. It basically doubles the weak holy energy she can give her sword. This effect she can maintain much longer than the flaming sword. Still doesn't mean she can hit anything.
All in all she is not a good person to have in a fight as anything but support.
Hermia "eats" by absorbing postive energy. She deoesn't effect what she is absorbing from. The positive energy can be from any source, although holy ones are better. She can sustain on the positive thoughs and feelings of man as well. Its more a matter of exposure than actual "absorption". Places will have energy as much as people so she can be by herself for extended amounts of time, although she will weaken at a much quicker rate. During a fight she can get the boost from people fighting for the greater good, so the boost is determined by the cause of the fight not the fight itself.
Skills (Chris): Chris can perform the menial tasks many dead end jobs require, such as flipping burgers. He can cook and clean. He lives on college dorms and is mostly self-sufficient. He's also extremely stubborn.
He's got some limited first aid skills from his one and a half years of college studying medicine. He could do some fair first aid, enough to allow a person to survive a trip to a hospital. He is certified for CPR and could do stitches and such.
He's also sensitive to metaphysical supernatural stuffs (like angels and demons) and it sets his hair on edge. He's gotten more used to it over time, but its still annoying.
Skills (Hermia): A morale booster. She is really good about encouraging her allies if they are not evil. To the evil its just an annoyance.
Personality (Chris): Easily irritated and likes to just lounge around doing nothing. He tends to be somewhat verbally combative but will just give up and wander off to do something else if it looks like the fight will get physical. He does what he has to so he can graduate but dislikes lifting a finger to do anything else. He also hates being insulted and will go out of his way to prove that he's not whatever people are calling him that day. He's the type of person that would shoplift just to prove to his "friends" he wasn't a sissy. Luckily he's never been asked.
He's actually pretty unsure about his place in the world and is still trying to find himself. He hates being pushed into doing things (not realizing that "proving his friends wrong" is being pushed into things) and tries to keep people at a distance through smart-ass comments and cold shoulders. He does it because he often feels crowded by the expectations of society and wants his own space to figure things out. Doesn't take jokes well at all.
Personality (Hermia): Hermia is... uptight. She wants to follow her duty to her utmost and by the absolute book. She often comes across a brownnoser because she is constantly volunteering for stuff and making sure she does her tasks promptly and exactly when she is told to. She has a black and white view of light and dark and will only work with dark if her superiors (which is just about every angel considering her rank) order it. She often has trouble seeing outside the box and more philosophical conversations can lose her rather quickly.
She is actually pretty sweet but her dutifulness gets in the way of that sometimes. She doesn't set out to hurt people's feelings but won't let them get in the way of any mission she has been assigned. She thinks that whenever someone refuses her help its cause they are proud, so she tries to help them anyways. This rarely ends well.
She will follow orders from her superiors even if she doesn't agree with them. And won't tell people that she doesn't agree with them for fear that would make her seem unloyal. She can be quite annoying, but she means well.
History (Chris): Not much to say. Two parents, only child. Grew up with a fairly normal social structure. In High School he tended to keep to himself until his senior year when he realized if he acted like less of a "pansy" more people would like him. Got into some trouble during that year and got detention a few times, but graduated with a B average.
He decided he wanted to be a doctor, to his parents surprise and glee, but seems to just be scraping by in school. Its more from a lack of trying than any lack of skill, and he's maintaining high enough grades to not raise any eyebrows. He prefers to lounge than do work.
Somehow some boys learned about his dislike of ghosts and managed to prod him to going to a cave rumored to be haunted and write his name on the inside of the cave. He did it just to get them off his back and the events that followed have made him regret it sense. (Cont in Hermia's history)
History (Hermia): Hermia was "born" like all angels from some vague source of light. Also like all angels she was of the lowest rank, a messenger within the council only. Over the next hundred years or so her deeds managed to get her promoted a bit to where they allowed her to send messages to the main dimsension of Earth.
She overheard the rumors of an invasion at the fabled Vault of Chaos and practically begged for the chance to deliver such an important message to the Vault's Guardian. The council finally conceded just to get her out of their hair, but insisted she take along a weapon of one of the high ranking warrior angels for protection (her sword).
The angel got herself royally lost on the way to the vault, allowing the rumored invasion to occur. When she arrived there late at night she saw Chris trying to talk himself into going into the cave. She felt the overwhelming darkness coming from the cave and had no idea that's why Chris decided to screw it and head back.
She needed some way to mask her aura so she took the opportunity and merged with Chris. Chris tried to balk this and Hermia had to use loads of energy to get enough control to sprout her wings from Chris' back and fly towards the pit. However, Chris' absolute hatred of the situation did the opposite to her aura she had hoped. It made it MORE obvious.
She summoned her sword and tried to help Hades, the demon who guarded the vault, once below, and it was more than likely that her "help" is what caused the fight to be lost.
Hades fled the area after Chaos broke free and Hermia followed him. She received a message to stay with him and help him with his task. She knew it annoyed Hades and she wasn't happy with it either, but she didn't refuse or complain. She would not let herself seem weak to her superiors.
During a fight in which Hades almost has Chaos sealed, a portal opened and the darkness and demon went into it. The portal snapped shut before Hermia could get to it and she asked her superiors for help. It took a month in the time of their dimension, but a portal was able to be forced open and Hermia fled into it, not realizing that less than 24 hours had passed on the other side.
Other: A "merge" in the parent story of these OCs is similar to posession. When a demon or angel possesses someone, they simply send their consciousness to the victim. They only have limited access to their powers and can not express any of their physical characteristics. A posession can occur as long as they like. The victim will age normally. This is relatively easy to expel depending on the willpower of the person and the strength of the angel/demon.
A "merge" is a much more drastic version. Basically, the angel/demon send their entire being into the victim, becoming one with them. They have access to all their powers and can express one or more of themselves onto the body. Hades could cause his wings to sprout from Thane, change Thane's skin color, give him pointed ears, etc. In most cases the angel/demon maintains dominance 100% of the time. This form of possession is slightly harder to perform, but nearly impossible to expel. The check and balance to this is that the demon/angel does not want to stay merged for long at all. For too long (it varies) means the two entities will develop a codependency. The angel/demon will require constant exposure to the human energy, and the human will require constant exposure to light (for angel) or dark (for demon) energy. The demon/angel and human will die within minutes of seperating.
The demon/angel can jump to another human and remain alive. Another demon/angel can jump to the human to keep them alive. It should be noted that if a demon jumps to an angel co-dependeant or vice versa, the opposite charged energy will mean instant death for the human.
Hermia and Chris have not developed a co-dependance. Hermia makes sure that once a day she un merges with Chris. Chris has tried to get the hell out of the situation but Hermia always jumps back in. It can take up to an hour for her to get Chris to calm down after remerging.
Hermia will sometimes demerge for convenience sake as well, providing Chris can convince her he won't run off. She tries to give equal time for dominance between her and Chris, but its only when she is dominant that any part of her can be expressed or her weapons summoned.
In the context of their home setting, an "angel" is a being of light whose appearance is not limited to the standard fair human with angel wings. A "demon" is a being of dark. No religious connections whatsoever. A "devil" is an angel who has been so corrupted with darkness that their light powers are nearly nonexistant but have been replaced with demonic powers. Hypothetically, there could be a "risen demon" just like there are "fallen angels", but it has never occured.
