Full Name: Momoko Miyamoto
Nicknames: Ms. Tachi, Momo (main human form only)
Age: Indeterminable
Height: Changes
Weight: Changes
Gender: Female?
Race: Doppelganger
Alliance: Unknown
Home: Unknown
Franchise: None
Physical Description (True Doppelganger Form)
She has the pseudo-skeletal appearance of most Doppelgangers with one flagrantly obvious exception. Her right arm is horribly disfigured. It has limited mobility, about half of what a humanoid would be expected to have. It looks to have been reattached with little attention to aesthetics. As if it didn't look ghastly enough on its own, her middle and pointer fingers are missing altogether, although the remaining three digits have full range of motion.
Her hair carries over from her preferred human form, although its not quite as well kept. Tall end of short black hair with plain bangs that are cut straight and fall just above her eyebrows. The back of the hair is slightly jagged, almost as if someone hacked it off rather than paying attention to any sense of style.
The joins and claws of her doppelganger form are a sickly shade of dark pink, more of an ugly magenta than anything else. If she were forced to give it a name, it would be "blood pink". The rest of her form is the usual white. Its worth note that she actually loathes this form and its seen less commonly than the rarity most true doppelganger forms are seen.
Physical Description (Preferred Human Form)
Her preferred human form looks very much like a Japanese high school girl, although many Westerners would see "Asian" without seeing the individual traits that proves her to be Japanese. She doesn't challenge appearance conventions about the race, with dark brown eyes border on black and sleek black hair. She is fairly petite, even for her apparent ethnicity.
Her hair is cut to the long end of short, the straight base falling about halfway down her neck. The bangs fall just above her thin black eyebrows, and she keeps any excess tucked behind her ears. Its is very neat and plain.
She is usually seen wearing a high school uniform of the world she adopted the form from. It has a black sailor collar with no lines. The shirt is white and the school crest is located in a white area of fabric positioned near the base of the v-shape formed by the collar. The bow is navy blue, but its clear its not black when contrasted with the collar. She has a black sailor skirt that comes just past her knees, and she prefers to keep her shirt tucked in. The skirt has pockets, but they are often hard to see unless she is reaching into them. She wears plain black shoes and the type of tall white socks you will sometimes see on anime characters. If it would draw too much attention she is known for forming the outfit without the school logo.
She is not from the same Earth as any other character in the RP. The school logo is fairly generic and has no kanji on it so one couldn't read her school of origin.
None of this makes up the most noticeable part of this form, however. The most noticeable problem is the obvious disfigurement of her right arm. It is missing the same fingers as her doppelganger form and has the same range of limited motion. It appears to have been rather horribly burnt, right down to the telltale scars centered on the elbow and around the hand. It should be noted this is not a disfigurement the human she copied this form from had, meaning this disguise would be rather useless on the original human's home world.
Weapons
Momo doesn't have anything in the way of physical weapons, and has little interest in learning how to use any. She prefers flight over fight and will take that option whenever she can.
If the need arises her own body can function as a weapon, and she is not above skewering somebody with the sharp claws of her true form.
Abilities/Powers
Momo is capable of shape-shifting into any biped, providing she can get a good look at them before doing so, but there is a chance of error. If she can somehow access the person's DNA, she can (almost) perfectly copy their appearance, and her training as a doppelganger scientist makes this easier than for many of her race. If she manages to absorb their body, she can also access their memories and skills, allowing a reproduction of their personality that is around 99.9% accurate.
However, Momo has a weakness uncommon to the doppelganger race thanks to the accident that caused her disfigurement. It makes her rather useless as a doppelganger. Her disfigured right arm will carry over into her other forms (thus preventing perfect copies via DNA), although she is capable of effecting how it appears. She tends to use the "badly burnt" appearance her preferred human form has. It has an ironic symbolism to her. However, she can have it appear in other ways, but it will always be disfigured and missing the pointer and middle finger.
She also has fully functional eidetic memory, meaning she never forgets something once she learns it. This skill causes more problems than it solves, however, as it means the other doppelgangers knows she still knows the formulas she was working on.
Skills
Momo has extensive scientific knowledge, with a heavy focus on genetics and medical research abilities. It comes from her former job at the doppelganger HQ. She is also fairly quick and quite adaptable, the latter of which was shown by how quickly she adjusted to her missing fingers. She's also quite good in school type settings and could easily fill the role of an honor student.
She can use a Japanese styled bow with some pretty amazing skill, just like the original Momoko Miyamoto could.
Personality
Momo is dry and cynical, seeing the world in a "kill or be killed" sort of way and having trouble accepting more laid back personalities. She copes will in strange situations and her mind is as adaptable as her body. She puts herself and her goals above others, but can clearly see the advantage to a team up. She isn't the most loyal of people, and will only keep her allegiance so long as it continues to suit her goals.
Deeper down, however, she's full of regret. She knows she is defective in more ways than one and its a thought frame that bothers her. She is rarely seen to smile, and even genuine ones tend not to reach her eyes in any form. She's rather worried about being captured, a rather real reality concerning the information she has stored in her mind.
Basically, she's the type of person who uses a cynicism and callous cover to hide her fears. She is capable of kindness, but she finds it a weakness that she is well aware the other doppelgangers would exploit. She works at not showing it.
On a side note, she prefers to use the name of her human form rather than Ms. Tachi. The original owner of the name is dead due to her actions and she doesn't like using a name that ties her with the race she no longer considers herself a member of.
History
Momo was once a relatively high ranking member of a pan-dimensional race of beings known as doppelgangers, and in all technicality still is one. As a doppelganger, her purpose should be to make copies of others and spread turmoil, although she was more of a behind the scenes type that worked on research and development. She is actually well acquainted with the doppelganger known as Ms. Mirror because of this.
However, rather than working on tools to help spread doppelgangers, Momo was more focused on a medicine to help reduce and eventually outright cure the weakness towards "canaries", a catch all term to describe aura-sensing beings that can identify a doppelganger no matter how good their disguise. And she had just finished a batch of the prototype when an explosion from an unknown source destroyed that part of the HQ's laboratory.
All the samples and research was lost, and almost all the doppelgangers caught in it were killed. However, the security cameras picked up on Ms. Tachi being blown away from the blast, and the possibility of her being alive with the knowledge of the medicine is not something the doppelgangers would let rest. It is pretty much guaranteed a search party has been sent to find her...
Other
Momo is made with permission from Firebreath Fishslap, who technically owns the rights to the doppelgangers as they exist in the RP. He has approved this application.
I plan on putting the explosion in the RP and having the personality forming from there. So the first post will involve the explosion and the events following directly afterwards, such as the makeshift reattachment of her arm. I should probably note that the research on the medicine was very complicated and all pieces of it would be needed to make it. As well as the scientific skill to understand said research.
Her doppelganger name is a Japanese pun based on multiples. The term "charactername-tachi" means "charactername and all the others", a way that is often used to refer to a group. In Sailor Moon, for example, the group would often be called "Sailor Senshi-tachi" which would roughly mean "that group of sailor soldiers".
As for her true form, it is unknown if it is organic or technological. Many assume the latter as Momo doesn't need any food or fuel of any sort.
I have drawn no art of either of Momo's main forms.
