Full Name: Nicolas Flamel
Nicknames: The Alchemist, Abraham the Mage the Second, Nick
Age: Immortal (52 at time of immortality, though the elixir of life has been making him younger the more and more that he drinks it, so he now looks about thirty-ish after 600 years of drinking it)
Height: ?
Weight: ?
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alliance: Neutral
Home: France
Franchise: The Continuing Saga (Or is he…)
Physical Description: Though, originally Nicholas Flamel looked like an old man, over the years, he has altered his appearance several times over the years so no one catches on to the fact that he’s immortal. These days, he takes the appearance of a “starving artist”. His dark brown hair is graying, and looks very much unkempt. He also has a Gendo Ikari type beard going on, and wears little glasses. As for clothing, he wears clothing that is much too large for him, typically a white t-shirt with a brown leather jacket over it, and baggy jeans. He doesn’t wear shoes a lot, but when he does, it’s typically Birkenstocks.
Weapons: The Philosopher’s Stone, and the Book of Abraham the Mage. The Book contains several alchemical formulas, and the Philosopher’s Stone works as a powerful alchemical catalyst, allowing Flamel to actually do alchemy on the run.
Abilities/Powers: Flamel is immortal to a degree; he will live forever as long as he keeps drinking the elixir of life, and if he receives a fatal injury, as long as there’s still some of the elixir in his system, he’ll stay alive, at least until it passes through his system.
Skills: As an alchemist, Flamel can do alchemy, though his methods are different than the ones conventional alchemists use. Over the past few centuries, he’s become a fairly confident swordsman in of himself.
Personality: Flamel is rather detached from the world, and is a bit of an existentialist. As it is, he stopped caring about what the world does to itself years ago, and often sits back and watches the drama. With popcorn. When around him, though, never, EVER mention Lili. You’ll regret it. A lot.
History: Originally, Nicolas and Perenelle Flamel, and their daughter Lilian were just two manuscript sellers in 15th century Paris. Then, Nicolas managed to get his hands on a mysterious 21 page book and became obsessed with translating it, even travelling to Spain and back to translate it. Eventually, he was able to identify the book as The Book of Abraham the Mage, a book that contained several alchemical recipes. Nicolas and Perenelle spent the next few years working on decoding it, eventually decoding enough to get the formula for the Philosopher’s Stone of legend. However, their tests of the original stone led to their daughter getting in the crossfire, and her being horribly changed by the stone. There are no records of what ended up happening to her, though, because Nicolas has worked very, very hard to wipe any record of Lili from history. In any case, Nicolas and Perenelle had to work very hard on their own to fine tune the stone. Once they did, they were able to turn lead into silver, and later gold, and create the elixir of life. After many years of immortality thanks to the elixir, Nicolas and Perenelle eventually split up to pursue their own interests, last being seen together in 1761 at an opera house. They both owned Philosopher’s Stones, though, so there wasn’t any worry about either of them dying before the other. Nicolas decided that he would travel the world, always being very elusive and never being seen in one area for more than a few years at a time and always covering his tracks. In the rare case that another alchemist could find him, he would often defeat them in battle and leave them to die, but if the alchemist won, sometimes he’d give them a Stone of their own. The most famous of these encounters was his most recent one with Beatrice Jameson, a Fluffy-obsessed, chain-swearing alchemist. He occasionally spends time on the Dimensional Island, since he was able to make a portable portal between Earth? and the Island.
Other: My version of the man is just another in a long line of interpretations of a real life person, who may or may not have discovered the Philosopher’s Stone. Yay legends!
Picture: Some day when I can actually draw him worth a darn, there will be a picture here.
