Full Name: Laura Arboral
Nicknames: La Reine
Age: 13
Height: 4’ 8”
Weight: 99 lbs
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Alliance: Neutral
Home: Hoenn
Franchise: Pokemon OC
Physical Description: The first thing that everyone inevitably notices about Laura is that she’s not particularly tall. At all. Do not mention this to her. You will be torn apart by her “Chevaliers” if you so much as suggest that. She’s really sensitive about her height. Other than her height, other obvious physical features are Laura’s red hair, which she has cut to resemble that of a trainer who defeated her once. Her eyes are a teal blue color.
For clothing, Laura tends to wear thick clothing meant more for winter; after all, she had been in Sinnoh at the time when she was transported to the Island. Specifically, she wears a black sweater under a tan coat. She also wears a pair of jeans and some white Running Shoes. She has a Poketch on her left wrist, but you typically can’t see it because of the long sleeves on her coat. She typically wears a red and purple scarf that she likes to hide her face behind when she’s feeling particularly embarrassed.
Weapons: It’s not nice to call Pokémon weapons. :/
Abilities/Powers: n/a, she’s just a normal human
Skills: Laura’s special skill is Pokemon battling, like Red, someone she rather admires and would like to battle some day, though a better description would be Pokemon Strategy. Specifically, she is incredibly good at such things as remembering Pokemon types, their weaknesses, and what Pokemon are best suited to fight which Pokemon.
Personality: The thing that most people notice right away is that Laura is rather rude, or at least appears as such. This is not helped by the fact that she refers to herself as “the Queen” in French, and her Pokemon as her “knights.” She’s also rather commanding and goal oriented, and seems cold and callous toward pretty much everyone. She tends to put up a pretense of being unafraid of anything as well.
This isn’t so much a personality trait as it is a verbal tic, but Laura tends to not use singular pronouns like “I” and “me.” It’s always “we” or “us.”
History: Laura was a rather normal kid from Lavaridge Town who always felt rather overshadowed by the fire-type trainers who congregated in the town. For the record, her first Pokemon was a Budew she’d gotten as a birthday present. Eventually, as Pokemon are wont to do, the Budew evolved into a Roselia, and became fiercely protective of Laura. She finally named it after it evolved, naming it Rapier. This Pokemon became a mainstay in her party for a very long time after this.
After Laura turned ten, she headed out on her Pokemon Journey. She had since decided that she wanted to be the strongest Pokemon Trainer ever, and the way to do that would be to strategize. Rapier was her only constant; as she travelled through the world, she used different Pokemon. The only way to truly get into the heads of her opponents was to train Pokemon they were used to. And then, she had to subvert the tactics they thought they knew so well by now.
After getting all of the badges of Hoenn, Laura did not pursue the Elite Four like many trainers did. Instead, she left her Pokemon (Rapier not included) and friends behind to go train in Sinnoh. Her training went well, in fact Rapier even evolved into a Roserade during this time, until Laura met a trainer named Mimi. Mimi was the Anti-Laura, she was everything that Laura wasn’t. And that pissed Laura off.
During the now infamous Mt. Coronet Incident, Laura and Mimi ended up having to team up when they, like many trainers in Sinnoh, realized something BAD was going down at the mountain. Laura and Mimi had been in the middle of an epic battle on the mountainside when Cyrus summoned Dialga and Palkia, and upon realizing that BAD SHIT WAS GOING DOWN, they put their battle off for another time, and collaborated to take down whatever Team Galactic members they could. Once several trainers started making it into Mount Coronet, Laura and Mimi helped them take down what remained of Team Galactic. While Laura and Mimi didn’t take down the Gods of Space and Time, they did manage to take out the crazy cult that had summoned them.
After Laura finished her Sinnoh journey, she got on a boat at Snowpoint to travel to the Battle Frontier. On her way there, though, she ended up getting sent to the Dimensional Island.
