Physical Description
Kisa is very pale. Very pale for her Japanese ethnicity. It is not that the girl does not get enough sun, she just doesn't tan. She burns easier than what would be considered normal, but no matter how many times she has been burned her skin still stays pale enough to be called off-white. She's not, however, an albino. Just very pale. Her height is average for her ethnicity and she seems frail. Her limbs are skinny but avoid being gangly, and she has more muscle than seems apparent. However, she's light as a feather to lift.
Her hair color has often been described as hard to pin down. In bright light it is so close to white it might as well be so. In shadow or darkness, it gets a dull blue color to it. In most lights it is a pale blue bordering on white with steel blue highlights. Its beautiful to look at, although it is a bit dull unless she is obsessive about washing it. It has almost a polished scale effect to it at its cleanest.
The style of her hair is nothing special. It is long, falling about halfway down her thighs. She does nothing with it, allowing it to fall and cascade as it will. She doesn't really have bangs, but quite a bit of her hair falls in front of her face. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it, and never bothers brushing it out of her eyes herself. The only way you'd see her face unobscured is if you were to adjust it for her.
Kisa's eyes fit the cliche about souls to a T. They really are the windows to her soul. Most of the time they seem underconfident. Her basic personality is slightly withdrawn and meek, and it shows. Really, unless you had seen her determined, angry, and/or critical gaze, you'd never know she had them. She more than does, however. The angry and critical ones are reserved for a select few, but Kisa does have ragemodes. Her determined look, however, is as like to come across as cute as not. They are a very vivid shade of bright steel blue.
The way Kisa prefers to dress is simple. She isn't about flashy outfits and she wears looser clothing that conceals her figure. Its not that she's all that self conscious, in fact she doesn't think about her body much of the time at all. It is as much a matter of not really understanding rules of fashion beyond the practical "cold weather, dress warm" kinds of things. Her father is also a bit on the traditional side of things, so he doesn't like her dressing up beyond what is practical.
She tends to wear dresses (knee length in spring and summer, ankle length in fall and winter) with fabric that breathes well. They tend to flow nicely, and if she spun in a circle would create the flair effect children are known to love to invoke. She is almost always seen wearing a simple belt of some type. Her shoes tend to be nice but not fancy. She dislikes tennis shoes, so she often opts for some kind of boot. She is often seen wearing a vest, but if her dress isn't long sleeved, the vest is. She doesn't run around showing much in the way of skin.
She does have favorite colors. She likes white, blue from almost white to standard (not dark blues), and silver. Her favorite color is similar to her hair color, an off-white light blue.
Weapons
Kisa doesn't carry weapons. Her parents, especially her father, would have a heart attack if she even thought about it. She isn't very good in a fight, either. She has average skill with makeshift things, so she could throw utensils at you and have a decent chance of smacking you upside the head. Nothing that she carries on her, though.
Abilities/Powers
Kisa has... intuition. Spirit sense. She can pick up on when things are going bump in the Aether. She is highly sensitive, and can see ghosts, fae, and other such phenomena most people can't. She dislikes places touted to be haunted and wishes her reactions were as simple as goose bumps. She's got a knack for things of that sort, and it is a knack she has trouble controlling. And that's when she actually can. She doesn't shoo the power away much, though. She listens to it. She is not unknown for pausing and staring at some random object longer than she should.
She also has a latent ability to summon a monster from her Ba. This is very important as the ability is usually tied to Ka. She isn't aware of this ability, but there is another individual who can access it on the Island. This link causes issues. Because if her Ba is summoned without her permission or knowledge, it causes her pain. To put it simply, it is like someone is trying to rip her soul from her body. Not a fun experience. She has limited control over this even from a distance, and can fight it. It would cause issues for whoever was trying to access her Ba. It does cause issues for whoever is trying to access her Ba.
Skills
Kisa has a lot of skills. Most of them are connected to being a "good wife". She can cook, clean, is good with kids, the whole nine yards. She can sew and is actually quite good at cute little doodads whose only purpose is being cute.
She likes things like boardgames and probably has championship level skill in chess. Oddly for how expressive she is, the girl has a great poker face and can wipe the floor in traditional card games. She has a fairly good sense for strategy of all types, as well. Problem with all this is she is as like as not to hold back because girls aren't "supposed" to be able to be good at things like that.
Personality
Kisa could be said to have two personalities. Really, they are distinct sides of her true personality that she falls into depending on the situation. Her first side is perhaps described as the "proper young lady" side. She is soft-spoken, polite, shy, graceful, etc. She rarely speaks unless spoken to and often won't speak her mind. She is very polite and always uses honorifics, as despite being raised on the Island has Japanese as her first language. There isn't a person in existance she would not give an honorific too, no matter how much she hated them.
Her other side is an independant young woman with a strong will. She has a sharp tongue when she needs it and enjoys a good challenge. Its the rarer of her sides, and its as strong as it is in a sort of psychological rebellion towards how she is supposed to act. When she gets into an argument with her parents, she often cops this attitude. Its the side that will get her angrier looks.
Really, though, neither side is all that true. Kisa is a young lady with self-confidence issues but the head on her shoulders to see when she should crawl out of the hole of self pity and stand on her own two feet. She doesn't like inconveniencing people and is not fond of conflict. She will often take the backseat and sacrifice what she wants to make others happy. She is polite, but not stupidly so. She has her cute side here, and she actually has a closet hopeless romantic tucked inside of her. She's the type of girl that would appreciate stupid gestures like matching outfits. She isn't shallow about squeeing over things like cute stuffed toys, she truly loves them.
History
Kisa's history has two distinct parts. One is ~3000 years old in the calender of several universes. The other is ~15 in the calender of her parents' home universes.
~3000 years ago was the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. A girl with white hair and blue eyes was born in some small Egyptian village nobody knew about. She was abandoned by her birth parents. Her hair was crystal white, they deemed her some kind of curse. Someone found her, named her Kisara, and tried to raise her. But she attracted negative attention wherever she went. Thankfully those that had taken her in were always on the move.
The little nomadic group that she was raised by were attacked one night shen she was ~8. She was taken from them by a group of bandits and stuck in a cage. She was more than exotic looking, and they had plans to sell her. Probably not on any market eight year old children should be on, either. She was stuck with the group as the travelled until a boy a little older than her showed up. To her surprise he risked his life to free her.
He gave her the horse he had been riding and told her to run far away. She only got his name as the horse rode off. Set. She worried desperately about the boy that she'd developed an instant schoolgirl knight-in-shining armor-like crush on. She rode for less than half an hour before she saw smoke in the distance. It was the only village nearby, the group of bandits that had taken her prisoner had been there. She knew it was Set's village because of it. She turned the horse and made a beeline. Set was in danger. She'd always known about a power in her soul...
Set and Kisara arrived at the village about the same time. The bandits were ripping the place apart. One of them went for Set, and that was when what would become known as the "White Dragon" burst out of the flames and ended up saving Set. That was the end of that stage of her life.
It would be many years later that she would meet Set again. She in her late teens/early twenties when she became cornered in a marketplace. She would have likely been literalyl stoned to death for being a witch had one of the recently crowned Pharaoh's six priests not come to her rescue. It was none other than Priest Set.
Set became involved in the issue with the figure known simply as the Thief King. One of the other Priests, the guardian of the Millenium Eye, sent Kisara to the dungeon to try and awaken the power of her Ka. She refused to summon it until Set risked his life to save her. She summoned the White Dragon to save Set. Eventually Set fell victim to the sugared words of that same Priest, who turned out to be his father and the brother of the previous Pharaoh, making Set the cousin to the current Pharaoh.
Kisara was killed in a series of crossfires, and her last act was to grant Set the power of her soul, the White Dragon. She died in his arms, wishing that she could do something for his grief.
The fact that the White Dragon remained with Set's soul as he was reincarnated through history presented a problem for Kisara's soul. Being an integral part of her own soul meant she simply could not reincarnate in the same reality as Set. So while Set was reborn as Seto in one Japan, she was reborn as Kisa on Dimension Island.
Kisa's parents were old fashioned. They both came from Japan. While her mother encouraged some independance, her father made sure she was raised to be a proper woman. He even began looking for marriagable prospects. This is not to say she was abused. Kisa's nature allowed her nurture to advance without much in the way of hitches. It became easier to simply do as her father told and only be herself when the situation permitted. She was hit a few times growing up, but it was nothing that would enter into the realm of abuse.
It was one autumn day that she felt a tug at her soul, but it faded quickly. It was something like pain, but she went around her life as usual. What she didn't realize was that the severed ends of a red string had tangled back together from outside forces. Because apparently even dimensional barriers were weaker than the wish of two souls... that and one end was attached to a teenager who didn't know when the hell to drop his obsessions.
Other
Kisa is a semi-OC for Yu-Gi-Oh! because she is not an OC. She is the canon character known as Kisara from the final season of Yu-Gi-Oh! - Also known as the Egypt Arc or the Dawn of the Duel arc. While she is a transmigrated reincarnation and not technically the exact same character, there is no true difference between Kisa and Kisara.
Her last name is pronounced and romanized like "white", but its actually a real surname that combines the kanji of white and well. A character from Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch uses it as his surname. Kisa is written in hiragana and has no translation based on that. However, it sounds like the word "Kisa" for ark shell/red clam. Its also a real name in Japan.
I don't have any pictures of her right now, but I am working on one. She looks the same as she does in the anime, just in a different outfit.
