Full Name: Marcus (no surname)
Former Nicknames: High Advisor of Amalthas, High Wizard of Amalthas
Nicknames: Warlock of Amalthas, Grand Necromancer, Traitor of Amalthas
Age (at death): 32
Height: 6’4”
Weight: ? (Painfully skinny, outlines of ribs visible unclothed)
Gender: Male
Race: Undead Human
Alliance: Evil
Home: Amalthas Castle aka Creepy Castle
Franchise: N/A (Original Character)
Physical Description (Physical Form)
Marcus appears to be a very tall man in his late twenties (despite his “age”). He is painfully skinny and if he were to remove his shirt you could see the outlines of ribs. He doesn’t look as if he is literally starving, but he comes close. His white skin is rather pale, bordering on the color one might see on a china doll. It skirts the edges of creepy when his body type is taken into account, but its not unrealistic. His fingers are rather long, like one might expect to see on an accomplished piano player. They are rather thin, but in proportion with the rest of his body. His fingernails are of medium length and seem well cared for.
His pale silver hair is long and straight. It tapers to a thick point at the bottom, which rests just past the middle of his lower legs. His bangs are medium strips of hair that flair to the sides from the center of his head. They fall down in front of his ears and taper down to very think points. The bottom of the points rest parallel to his accentuated due to weight collar bone. Around the back of his head he has part of his hair pulled up into a braid. The two ends are braided together at the center, and it gives the illusion of a braided half crown.
His eyes are narrow and hold a large amount of knowing wisdom to them. In truth, they’re creepy because of it. They are dark steel blue in color, the steel coming out in hints of grey blended with the blue. His eyebrows are very thin, as are his lips. His expression is hard to read most times, but it is not hard to interpert his flat lips as bordering a smile. It holds traces of a knowing smirk.
Due to the specifics of this form, he is able to change the outfit he is wearing. His preferred outfit screams evil wizard of some sort, and one of rather high standing. The first piece that is noticed is a dark purple borderingon black cloak. The collars are tall, but curved in such a way that despite going all around give an almost cliche Dracula-cape collar effect. There are three strips of what appear to be silver evenly spaced by about two centimeters from each other. The ends look like celtic crosses, complete with a piece making the circle.
The entire robe is lined in crimson blood red. At the back, starting from the center of the collar, it comes down and forms an odd pattern that seems to be a cross of something celtic and an inverted pentagram. From the bottom point of the pentagram the design continues down to the base. Just above the base long strip crosses giving the illusion of an inverted celtic cross. The circle is there as well. The entire design seems pointlessly complicated and very pseudo-gaelic. The “cross” is positioned in a way that it can’t be seen if you look at him straight forward, but any kind of angle shows a part of it. When he stands still, the front arranges in a manner that makes his outfit hard to see, and it just barely falls short of dragging on the floor.
His shirt is a dark grey wool supertunic (long tunic) with no split in the sides. It comes down to his knees. The bottom and wide collar has celtic-knot like work embroidered in black. They have long sleeves that are tight at the wrists and held shut with a black leather belt-like strape. Over his waist is a black belt of impeccable quality to those that can spot it The buckle is silver (metal and color) and shaped like a celtic cross without the stem.
His pants are the same crimson blood red as the tips of his cloak. They are made of linen. They fit in a fashion that can only be tailored. He has hard leather boots that have been died black. They come up to just below his knees. They appear to rolled down near the top, and the role is about half an inch in length. The boots have a very slight heel to them, but its within the range of normal for “stylish” modern men’s wear. Its not enough to be considered heeled in most women’s shoes. The fronts come to a noticable rounded point, and three silver studs are there. The center stud is largest and near the front at the center, with the smaller ones to either side.
He has on long black gloves that seem like they should be uncomfortable for how tight they are. One can still see he has longer than average fingernails with them on. They bell out at the wrist, and are held on with a thin crimson red belt piece and silver buckles. In each of his ears are two earrings. The main one is a silver hoop that borders between large and small, and above that is a small silver celtic crosss stud, of the type without the long bottom piece. It has no pattern work, however.
Physical Description (Spirit Form)
Marcus’ spriti form is something like a ghost. Its mostly transparent, but unlike a ghost anyone can sense it. It seems more magical than paranormal, an effect of its stability being granted by Marcus’ overwhelming magic. His outfit while in it is similar to his preferred outfit in physical form, except the colors seem to be white, gold, and dark sky blue.
His physical form is more demonic than human. Rather than seeming painfully skinny, he looks like he shouldn’t even be “alive”. He is almost skeletal. His ears are points, but they seem almost burned, almost as if someone pulled on his ears for years to give the points. His hair is a far paler shade of silver and his eyes are bright red. He also has prominent vampire-like fangs. Some kind of phantom wind seems to circulate around him as well, although its most noticable around his hair.
Physical Description (Energy Form)
Marcus has no true appearance in this form. Only those with huge magical sense and/or moderate spiritual sense are aware of his presence like this. It feels something like death and/or magic depending on where one’s powers lay. Spiritual sense is related to psychic powers where as magical sense is related to actual magic (ask if you aren’t sure where your character’s abilities lay).
The downside to this form is he can use none of his powers. He can’t even communicate well in this form, and its the form he’ll default to if he gets “killed” or drains himself of too much power.
Weapons
Marcus doesn’t carry any weapons on him. Considering his magic abilities, its hardly worth it. He can makeshift fight with bladed weapons, but he has gotten desperate when he gets to that point.
Abilities/Powers
Marcus’ first power is skill with death magic. He is known as a Necromancer by those that know the extent of his powers for a reason. He has mastery over dark/negative magic as well, but it is only with death related magic he was unparalleled in his time/world. He can use more elemental based magic with above average talents, but he is useless for traditional methods of protection and healing and light/holy based magic.
His powers are ill defined. He is technically capable of causing dimensional damage as his greatest power, but it comes at the cost of his own stability. He once ripped himself and a huge area of a dimension apart accessing it, and he is aware it would likely cost him his existance if he were to attempt to do so again.
The more specific of his powers relate to his necromancy. He is able to communicate with the dead. He can summon and control low level ghosts, and his strength allows him decent skill with mid-level ones for strength as well. He can animate corpses and his abilities allow him to speak the language of any undead. However, it is in a fashion similar to the Island. He could not follow a conversation of a living person and a dead person from the same world if he didn’t know the language already, but he could understand the dead one. The power level of the dead has an impact on this, as he could not understand a vampire speaking French, but he could understand a ghost doing so.
Skills
He is a master of manipulation and deceit. He is a quick thinker, but sometimes his sureness in himself proves a disadvantage. He is skilled in pseudo-medieval (think fantasy video games) politics. He knows matters such as diplomacy and law, or how to get around them in any case. He is good with advice giving, but he doesn’t give it freely. He reads and writes multiple languages both dead and living, several of which are mystical and impossible for the Island to handle with full efficiency.
He is agile, but actually pretty weak physically. In fact, if you can get him pinned and prevent him from spellcasting, he’s somewhat of a pushover. Its very hard, however, and he is clever at talking his way out of a situation.
Personality
Marcus is a bit insane, but its a type of calm insanity that allows him to function well in most settings. He places no value on life, and is quite vocal about his opinion that many people are worth more alive than dead. Once upon a backstory he used his manipulation to usurp a king and bring a country to its knees, but he doesn’t really have the attention span for that anymore. Marcus is fickle and tends to only stay focused on a task if someone is directly opposing him. He’s the type that will give everything to attain something, but once he has it is quick to become bored with it.
Marcus is sadistic and he doesn’t care about anyone. He has some significant masochistic tendencies, as well, especially since he knows it is almost impossible to destroy him. He is known to test out methods of killing on himself to see how it effects his physical form. The fact that he is undead has gone to his head a bit. His manipulative tendencies means he’ll let someone think they’ve killed him so he can use it against them later.
He can be described as insane, but he’s not without his sane merits. As long as his focus is on something, he’s very sly. He’s not the type to care if a plan blows up in his face, though. When he was alive, he was more cautious, but the with the risk of death being removed (as far as he is concerned) he has lost most of his dark sanity.
History
Marcus doesn’t have a history that stands him out from most others in his time. He was born a low ranking noble. Enough to not be part of the masses, but he would have had to kill over one hundred people to take the throne in Amalthis. Low enough that the ruler would have had to be reminded through several branches of the family tree who the hell he was. Life wasn’t easy, but it was by no means hard. He was a somewhat gloomy child, but again, nothing all that odd.
In his pre-teens, he realized he had an inclination towards spirits and such. When he did tell someone about it, they were appalled and decided he needed an exorcism. He ran away from home before the priest could arrive, and after some travel realized he could use the fear of ghosts and spirits. Somewhere along the way he got on a power trip and succumbed to the darker side of things people had feared him falling to in the first place. He would spend many years honing his skill, and eventually garnered a reputation as a faceless necromancer... the man was good about never letting himself be seen.
Along his life, he keyed back onto the kingdom of his birth. Using his powers and skills, he managed to weedle his way into position as the most trusted advisor as the king of the kingdom. He used his skills to manipulate his way into the heir should the king’s three children die. His manipulating would bring the death of the royal family save the one true heir. Prince William was sealed in the dungeon and Marcus used the prince’s sympathizers to torture the poor prince.
The people of Amalthis now under Marcus’ rule finally uprose one day. William got loose during the attack and attempted to kill Marcus, but he merely brought the uprising under control. William got loose at a later date and almost managed to kill Marcus. He would have, actually, had Marcus not had enough and ripped apart himself, William, and the palace with dimensional distortions. The caslte was deposited on Dimension Island, but Marcus only woke up recently. It took a helluva a lot activity, but the arrival of several demons and then the invasion by another dark magic user finally kicked him awake...
Other
From the same original setting as William. No pictures are drawn of him, feel free to work with his description if you wish.
He might seem overpowered, but I just wanted to make sure I covered any potential powers. XD
