Physical Description
Xiu is a very attractive teenage girl who appears to be full blood Chinese. Her skin is pale for her nationality and a sharp contrast to her vividly red thin lips, both falling well into Eastern ideas of beauty and is unblemished. Her eyes are technically brown, but they are of such a dark shade that they appear totally black except in just the right light. She has elegant proportions and would take the breath away from most people if she bothered to dress more like she cared about her appearance. Her common expression of mischeviousness and amusement doesn't do much for her potential exotic beauty.
Her jet black hair falls just above the backs of her ankles. She tends to keep it in a sloppy looking bun and a ponytail, the extent of which causes her hair to fall just above the midpoint of her back. She is known for sticknig any number of things in their as makeshift hair sticks. This can range from chopsticks, to pens, to even screwdrivers depending on the situation. Her hair flows like a river when she takes care of it right, but a lot of times it looks a bit matted.
When she arrives on the Island, her outfit is exemplery of her usual method of dress, and her hair is in the sloppy bun and slightly matted appearance. The hair "sticks" are a #2 pencil and a black pin. She is wearing a navy half-tank top that exposes her belly button. The Chinese kanji for "secret" is on the front in shiny gold coloring. Over that she has a several sizes too large black sweater with no decorations. Its large enough that the sleeves are loose and its impossible for both shoulders to be covered at once. A wide pocket is on the front. Her pants are worn and tattered jeans. They are horridly frayed at the bottom and both knees are exposed. She is wearing worn black tennis shoes with dark grey frazzled laces. They're tied in a manner it would take a Gordian Knot solution to undo them. She has no socks, and while this isn't really noticable due to her small chest, she isn't wearing a bra.
Weapons
Xiu doesn't carry any weapons on her. However, her entire body can function as one as she would be capable of wiping the floor with many master martial artists. She can use her environment as makeshift weapons as well.
Abilities/Powers
Xiu has undefined powers of sorcery, just like her previous life (see History). She isn't limited by things such as spells or incantations and finds that improvising creates the best results. SHe's actually known for experimenting. Her power is a very dynamic form of sorcery and it can all be chalked up to magic. It doesn't have that solid of an aura to it, and would best be described as spiritual powers. They aren't angelic or demonic in the least, although she is able to use powers that fall into those categories. However, her powers are weaker than her previous life, but considering the strength of them before its something that doesn't really matter.
She has an almost sixth sense like intuitiveness about items with magical or spiritual properties. She has a good fix on life forces and can often predict things that are going to occur. This isn't an ability to read the future, but more a good fix on fate. Its not fullproof, by any means. Arguably regaining at least a level of her past powers and her memories of her past life is a power, but it falls more into the undefined dymanic sorcery she has.
Skills
Xiu can spot real items from fake ones from across a castle ballroom. She needs only minutes to know if an item is magical, if its from some ancient culture or some modern knockoff. She is well versed in items of power from just about any world you can comve up with and many more you couldn't. She has a greater understanding of "otaku" items of power than she did previous due to having grown up in an Earth much like our own in this time and watching shows like that for "research".
She technically has access to the wisdom born from the age of her past life and the studies done within, but her physical mind is still sixteen, and it creates some potential knowledge vs physical capabilities conflict. Having only somewhat recently regained her memories (see history), she is affected by growing up mostly as a normal Chinese girl. She's more easily distracted and less observant than her past life, as well.
She is skilled in mixed martial arts, although her favored style is speed. She's pretty weak in the power department, and she's only as good as she is because she was into martial arts before regaining her memories. As such the memories were able to elaborate on what she already knew. She's good with makeshift weapons due to her memories, but it falls below her martial arts skills.
Personality
At times, Xiu seems to be two different people. Its due to the conflict of memories between her two lives (see History) and neither one is technically truer than the other. Really, her true personality is more of a blend between the two.
Her main personality is a mischevious prankster of a teenage girl. She's the type that revels in events like April Fool's and has a few authority respect issues but nothing to get her into serious trouble. She's fun loving and loves to laugh, and has a charismatic enough personality to attract friends. She's a bit of a rebel, but its not as much that she dislikes the status quo for being the status quo. She's just good about being herself.
Her secondary one is more serious. She knows when a situation is tense and is able to act far beyond her apparent years due to the memories of her past life. She won't joke during a life or death situation, and she is able to get a very firm voice that causes people to listen to her.
The combination is predominently of her main personality, with traces of serious there when she needs it. She's got a slight fear of being bludgeoned to death that she didn't understand as a kid, back when it was an outright phobia (that she admitted was stupid but still feared). Now she's aware of the source, but is more likely to get nervous around weapons as such.
History
Xiu's history begins before she was born. In late Autumn/early Winter, the recently crowned King of Bel came to a shop that had taken up a semi-permanent residence in Void City in the world known as Dimension Island. There, he killed the woman who had brought him much in the way of annoyance by bludgeoning her to death with the weapon his brother had used to kill him in his past life. The woman was known as Himitsu Motomeru, and she had seen the fate coming and taken precautions against it.
Her soul was reincarnated in another world, one very similar to our own. She was born in Hong Kong and raised as a normal Chinese girl in a modern world. This was the only life she knew, and she was content enough. It all changed when she hit puberty. Her powers spiked and she almost destroyd an entire city block. She managed to bring it under control thanks to the potentially mindsnapping flooding of memories, and only one room in her parents' house was blasted.
She actually spent the next week in a coma. During that time her spirit managed to rearrange itself and when she woke up she was somewhat stable. After she returned home she began to drift from her parents, who noted the change but thought it was a result of her coma. The girl was tussling between two lives' worth of memories, one life being thousands of years old. It did reveal a few mysteries to her. The key she'd found in her bedroom as a little girl belonged to a broken doll that showed up in her house about a week after she recovered from her coma. She knew the identity of the doll too, one of three keykeeper dolls by the name of Kerro.
She spent the next few months repairing the doll, using her regained powers to create illusions to hide the doll from her parents. Three months from her fourteenth birthday, she managed to repair the doll. Quite a bit of chaos ensued as she had to use her magic to convince her parents Kerro was a cousin visiting from the other side of China. From there the parents had to explain to the local school why they'd never mentioned him. More chaos came in the form of getting him home schooled and convincing people he didn't like social interactions. Xiu didn't want to run the risk of people realizing he wasn't human. A whole series could be made around the hijinks of all that. Xiu hid a lot of information from Kerro, knowing full well the information could create issues later. At least she was nice enough to let him know she was a sorceress.
About two months after Xiu's fifteenth birthday, she realized the time had come to return to the place she had died in her past life. Having no idea how this world's time would advance in relation to Dimensional Island, she made a decision that almost broke the heart of her current life's memories. She staged another explosion in an abandoned building, setting it up so it would appear she had died to the world she had grown up in. With that she and Kerro were off to Dimension Island.
Other
Xiu is Himitsu's reincarnation using the altered time flow of the Island in relation to other worlds to allow her to be a teenager without much time passing on the Island. Kerro is FF's character, but the connection we've made between plots ties them together and his involvement in her history has been approved. Himitsu and Mitsu are listed under nicknames as its possible the people she knew before being killed in her past life might still try to call her that.
I've got no pictures for her.
