Physical Description (Youko Form)
Listed first because this is Mitsuyo's most common form.
If Mitsuyo were to hide her face, many would call her a frail angel with hidden wings. Or they might, if she didn't have slender fox ears and eight tails spread out in somewhat of a fan shape from the base of her spine. Extending from her head is extremely long hair that if she kept down would easily come to her ankles. It is stiled so that it has a slight point and would form something of a v-shape at the bottom. However, she tends to keep the orange hair in a tight braid. The tip of the braid comes down to hips, hanging just past where her tails begin. It is held in place with a black leather string. Her ears and tail are of a darker more red-orange shade than her hair.
Mitsuyo's bangs are long as well. In fact, they seem less bangs and more large parts of her hair that she didn't bother pulling back into the braid. They fall down in a way that would conceal her ears if she didn't tie them near the top with a thick leather string. It is far thicker than the one used to keep her braid in place. The bangs themselves are cut straight at the bottom and extend to parallel to her small breasts, which are often kept strapped down with cloth.
If you were to see her face, though, you'd realize she is anything but a frail little angel. Her eyes are more narrow than you'd expect to see on a manga fan character female, and she pretty much has evil bishounen eyes. Her eyelashes are a bit pronounced. The color of her eyes is gold, no two ways about it. She is pretty much incapable of a soft gaze by normal standards, but if you know her expressions you'd understand what of hers qualifies as a soft gaze.
Mitsuyo's outfit consist of a black outfit that is vaguely reminiscent of a miko uniform, except it is gathered in one piece. The legs are like the commonly scene hakama pants. Around her waist she has a thick very dark grey shawl tied, it forms a medium sized bow in the back. The sleeves are very short, but at the shoulders only they are a bit longer, forming a slight shoulder guard effect although there is no substantial protection from them beyond what her outfit already grants. Tied to to her upper arms just above halfway down with a very dark grey tie are wide sleeves that further add to the illusion of a miko uniform. At the bottom is some more dark grey stitching. She has on two black shoes that come to a near point and seem more like slippers than anything else. An important fact to consider about her outfit is it is not cloth at all, but a sort of armor formed by her spirit energy. It stops as much if not more than most metal armors.

Mitsuyo, or Kogane as she takes upon calling herself in this form, is a very pretty young lady. Looking anywhere from sixteen to nineteen, she has an extremely effeminate build and very pale skin. Her hair is ebony black, although the style is the same as when she is in Youko form. The main difference is the long pieces that function as braids are shorter, falling to her collarbone instead. They style is still kept with black leather ties, but due to the shade of her hair look a little lighter than they actually are. Her eyes are a lot more feminine and a lot more gentle. They're immensely wise and yet seem capable of the common idea of Japanese femininity. They are dark brown bordering on black in color.
"Kogane" favors long skirts and blouses that are loose in the chest section but tight in the sleeves. She seems to prefer to wear long sleeves. Her color of choice is red or shades of it leaning towards orange. Mitsuyo has some issues hiding all her tails in this form, and often wears looser skirts high on her body as a result. The limits of this is listed in her Abilities/Powers. She seems to favor shoes both sensible and functional and would never be caught in high heels.

Mitsuyo's kitsune/fox form is pretty much a fox. She's a bit tinier than what one would expect a wild female fox to be, but its not to a huge disadvantage. She is very sleek, and coupled with her lean build it would not be impossible to consider her more than a bit underweight. Her fur is red-orange in color, although there are traces of gold and some would describe it as such despite it not being quite at that shade.
Her eyes are like a normal fox, but they are rather hard to read and carry the wisdom of her years. They are a pale gold in color. She has eight tails, and each are tipped in a more red shade than the rest of her fur. She is able to hide seven of them and tends to only keep them visible if she is trying to make a point. Her claws are black.
Weapons
Mitsuyo technically possesses no weapons. However, her powers grant her the ability to flash freeze summoned water, and this is quite useful for bladed weapons. She shows a slight preference for spiked chain weapons.
Abilities/Powers
Mitsuyo can summon water out of what seems to be thin air. Its in fact a slight form of dimensional manipulation with an extremely limited range, and its why the water summoned would not be useful for practical purposes. She is able to bring liquid up from various locations in the Makai, but she is only able to summon tainted waters that would cause quite a range of nasty side effects in almost anything that drank it. It looks pure as crystal though. It should also be noted the taint isn't something that effects the blood stream, and as such pretty much as to be ingested.
There is a limit as to how much she can have summoned at once, so its not likely she could drown a person. She is able to flash freeze the water and manipulate it freely in either form, and concentration and a series of freezing and unfreezing can create some interesting strategies. Her favored weapon seems to be a rather nasty spiked chain whip number. She can use it to full skill and if she can whip it around you the barbs will dig into your skin.
Mitsuyo can shapeshift between any of her forms at will. Her Youko form is now her most natural and requires no special maintenance. Her human form is the hardest to maintain, but not all that difficult. Her kitsune form requires some energy for maintenance, but less than even that of her human form.
Skills
Mitsuyo is very fast in her Kogane form. She could consistently win at the Olympics, but there are quite a few human tribes that could out run her. She rarely uses this speed, finding it more convenient to shift into her Youko form for battling. She is, in human form, rather frail as well. It wouldn't take much to bring her down. It all comes back to her dislike of fighting in such a form.
In Youko and Kitsune forms, she is like greased lightning. Even among the Makai she is considered fairly fast. To put it in perspective she is faster than Kurama but slower than Hiei, leaning more towards Kurama's speed. She quite literally can't be tracked by normal human eyes, and blurs just a tad even in the eye of those with spirit abilities. Her expertise with her spiked chain weapon is also a skill.
Personality
Mitsuyo is the type of person who would be willing to do anything for the person she loved most. In fact, she'd be willing to do it whether the person in question wanted it or not. She's fiercely protective and at least a bit psychotic. She's a fair bit of a manipulative monster on all accounts. Quite intelligent, but she tends to read people. She's the type that could give an "accurate" psychic reading by giving you information based on body language.
In most situations, she isn't easy to get a rise out of. She's calm and collected. She's graceful and seems very wise. All this flies out the window if you piss her off. There's only really one thing that can piss her off, and that's certain events in her past. She has some rather solid yandere tendencies and if you're someone that broke up with her... she tends to be borderline psychotic.
On that same note, she is psychotically protective. While it focuses mostly on men she likes, she can and will go that route towards ideals and friends. She can be talked down from the latter two given someone she trusts speaking to her, though.
History
Mitsuyo was born an ordinary fox in historical Japan about 2,400 years ago. She managed to survive well enough for long enough to gain a special level of spiritual power and advance beyond the normal life expectancy of other foxes. After a fair amount of time, she managed to sprout a second tail. From then she was able to migrate to the Makai due to her reikai (spirit energy) becoming yokai (demon energy).
The place she arrived in the Makai was a crystal clear pond surrounded by Makai plants. She almost got killed then and there, having to run from several plants and eventually taking refuge in the water. She managed to swallow a bunch of the water and became very sick. However, she managed to beat the illness and found she had gained a connection with the poison waters of the Makai. As time passed, she sprouted more tails. When she was in the far latter half of three hundred years, she met another Kitsune by the name of Kurama, who had eight tails to her three. The two spent some time together, and she was with him when he gained his ninth tail and began gathering followers.
At some point during his campaigns, Kurama met up with a demon named Yomi. Mitsuyo did not like Yomi and made no illusions about this. At several points she even attacked Yomi. After a while, Kurama had enough with the tension. Yomi had arrogance issues, but he was one of Kurama's best men. A particularly violent encounter where Kurama violently reminded Mitsuyo who among them had more tails lead with them breaking up. Mitsuyo pretty much flipped on Kurama, and barely managed to escape with her life. But it was a grudge she would keep festering...
Festering so much that she began gathering contacts. She worked quickly, and when she realized that Kurama had set up a hit on Yomi, she put her plan into action. Kurama had not taken her advice on Yomi when she had given it, but had acted on it when she was no longer there. This was salt in an open wound as far as Mitsuyo was concerned. When Kurama and his troops were hit by a surprise attack, it had been a set up by Mitsuyo. She had intended on rubbing it into the kitsune's face, but Kurama managed to slip free of the attack and escape to the Ningenkai (human realm). She chose not to pursue him, aware that if he had survived that well he would quickly be too well for her to face him on even ground.
Mitsuyo continued to grow in strength within the Makai as quite a bit of time passed. At one point, she was approached by someone claiming to represent the "true" king of the Reikai (spirit realm). She scoffed him at first, but a series of events made her realize there was some family tension within the royal family of the Reikai. Apparently the brother of the current King Enma had plans to dethrone his sibling and kill the heir. In order to get the power needed for that, he had to gather four weapons. Skeptical at first, Mitsuyo slowly became one of Nienma's highest ranked soldiers.
She only showed interest in the portal opening to other worlds because Nienma was rather certain he'd located at least one of the weapons there. It was shortly before Yuusuke had managed to get drawn to Dimension Island this occurred. She stepped up to volunteer for the position. She was not unaware of Kurama's involvement in the recent Dark Tournament, but realized he was with some very powerful allies. Besides, if Nienma could accomplish his goals, there was a chance she could get Kurama to herself whether he wanted it or not. In any case, Nienma managed to force open a portal to let her through. It was very small, but also stable... for all of five minutes.
The thing is, that portal caused a dimensional instability that would effect a certain teenage Reikai Tantei (Spirit Realm Detective) to get his well earned rest interrupted. As Mitsuyo headed through the portal, Yuusuke was forced through another...

Directly referencing several events of Kurama's backstory, including connecting Mitsuyo to certain key events. Please note this is a one sided ship. Mitsuyo is created from a point in mid-manga canon taking place after the Dark Tournament arc but before the Sensui one. However, backstory revealed in the Sensui arc onwards is used as canon. Mitsuyo is based on Kurama due to them being of the same basic type of demon, although her powers are quite different.
Mitsuyo's current power level is actually higher than Kurama's due to the downside of having a forced human form and lack of practice. She would be classed at a high A rank to a low S rank. However, it is not unlike the cast of Yuu Yuu Hakusho haven't won against odds before.
