Physical Description (Akhar)
Akhar Chikara is a short teenager of apparent desert people descent, granting him a rather tanned complexion. He's a bit lanky, lacking pretty much anything in the way of muscles but also lacking things such as fat, giving him a rather average if skinny build. Despite already being short, his mannerisms tend to make him seem even shorter. He has dark red-orange eyes that he seems loathe to use to make eye contact. They are very emotional, and even on the rare case he looks upset he tends to seem more submissive than anything else. He has been accused of having feminine eyes. His ears are long and pointed as are those of all humans of his home world.
Akhar has short red-orange hair that he doesn't seem to do anything with in the morning other than a quick pass with a comb. His bangs are a bit long, the middle falling down to his nose and the tips of the sides falling just to his eyes. The parts that come in front of his ears are a bit longer, and the come parallel to his chin. In the back, his hair is short and comes just short to the base of his neck.
He tends to prefer to wear his school uniform. When not wearing that, he heavily favors earth tones, particularly the darker ones. His Mori high school uniform he wears by the book, choosing to rock the boat as little as he can. He is wearing the spring-summer version of it when he comes to the Island.
The uniform consists of a light t-shirt piece with a dark green sailor collar piece, although the back is less short-cape like than is standard and is more of a shawl/collar combination. Near the bottom edge is a single gold stripe. He has a dark brown tie tied underneath the collar in a rather proper and nice manner. The tie has a flat bottom and a gold stripe is near the lower edge.
Just above the gold stripe is a small version of the school crest, a dark grey shield shape bordered in light grey with parts that are a bit jagged towards the center. The center has a shape from myth that is rumored to have been the shape of the holy stone of a forest located within the mythical kingdom of Hyrule. Akhar is more than aware of the significance. The shape matches the sketches he has seen of it researching the Legends of Zelda. He also notes that the outside of the shield shape vaguely resembles some markings he has seen on sketches of the wolf form the Hero took in one of the Legends.
The pants are green and well pressed, as is considered proper by the school. He wears the default style of shoes and the one considered the uniform standard. They are soft-soled brown leather shoes with the top giving the illussion of behing rolled down. His pants are always tucked into his boots unless some scuffle or another has forced them out. Its because that is considered the proper way to wear them.
Physical Description (Ganondorf)
It should be pointed out from the get go that Akhar and Ganondorf are aspects of the same soul and share the same body. As a result, there is little in the way of true appearance differences. However, the night and day difference of how the two carry themselves causes perceptual differences.
Ganondorf's overwhelming arrogant confidence makes him come across as taller than Akhar even is naturally. He carries himself like one would expect a ruler to, or the stereotype of a dictator. He tends to have a smirk, where Akhar's expressions are neutral or frowns. His eyes seem almost to narrow due to the angle of his eyebrows. He is able to look angry far more than Akhar lets himself as well, looking downright psychotic in his rage modes.
He tends to come across as more barbaric than Akhar, and far more merciless. He is known for brushing his hair a bit more to pull the longer bangs out of his eyes. He doesn't like his eyes concealed. His chest seems to stick out more and he seems to instinctively make himself seem larger. Akhar is the opposite, and as such it contrasts sharply to Akhar's small apperances.
Weapons (Akhar)
Akhar carries nothing in the way of weapons. While he does have a pretty hefty leatherbound book on him at all times, he would never use it as a weapon.
Weapons (Ganondorf)
Ganondorf, due to sharing Akhar's body, doesn't tend to have weapons on him. However, he is willing to acquire and carry them. He would use the leatherbound book Akhar owns as one with no problem due to his dislike of the thing.
Abilities/Powers (Akhar)
Akhar doesn't have any abilities/powers in the strictest sense. Being the destined bearer of the Triforce of Power sort of qualifies, but he is not truly representative of it at this point in his characterization. While it would most definently fly to him if the Triforce were seperated, he wouldn't really be able to access it. He is terrified of the Power inherent within, and would go so far as to block it.
Abilities/Powers (Ganondorf)
Ganondorf is well versed in dark magics and able to use a whole variety of them and things relating to them. The sentient presence of the light half of his soul prevents it from being crushed and does hamper his abilities. He is not as strong as he could be. He is the destined and worthy bearer of the Triforce of Power, and as such can access every bit of its abilities if it is in his possession. If he has it, he is able to use his dark magic spells to full extent. However, Akhar's presence makes it impossible to take his demon form whether he has it or not.
Due to the circumstances of his rebirth, Ganondorf has been aware since the first time his reincarnation truly wanted power. And for most of that life, he has been trying to exert dominance. The power to do so is potential, and one he has to fight tooth and nail for. Ganondorf has the potential to overtake Akhar as the dominant personality. However, Akhar's will is stronger than he realizes. But it is a power, just not reliable. Lately, destiny has been moving in a way that Ganondorf is feeling Akhar's control slipping. If Ganondorf had the Triforce of Power, it would be far easier for him to take and maintain dominance.
Skills (Akhar)
Akhar is extremely intelligent. He would manage straight A's in school if he attended more often. He is a lightning fast reader, able to consume a standard novel in hours if not less. He enjoys math and could probably give you the scientific family of most common animals. His area of specialty, however, is ancient myths. He could out trivia most crypto-historians on the Legends of Zelda, the collected name of his favorite myths/legends.
What Akhar is not is social. He tends to sit in a corner and keep to himself. He is not athletic, either, but his school tends to treat sports as a extracurricular thing and focus on health out of books, so it doesn't effect things.
Skills (Ganondorf)
Ganondorf is a leader, but its via pure intimidation. Even with the basic limitations of Akhar's body, he can out intimidate most men standing seven foot and with more muscles than seems sane. He is well versed in all manner of weapons, having a slight favoring for swords. He can ride a horse, although he rarely takes into account the health of the animal, being able and willing to push them to death given the right circumstances. He knows many things about the occult and only shares Akhar's knowledge of the Legends of Zelda due to his direct involvement in most of them.
He is versed in things such as historical politics, but lacking in modern ones. He is rather athletic, but held back a bit by Akhar's body.
Personality (Akhar)
Akhar hates being in public. He hates being around people, he hates being any place where he could lose it and cause damage to someone. He is fearful of what is inside him and how it could effect those outside of him. He is quiet and almost always has his nose in a book. He never willingly rocks the boat and is the type of person who would apologize for apologizing. He almost never talks, and when he does it is in a meek voice. He lets people walk all over him and will agree to everything he is told to do. Few really seem to notice him because he is able to blend right into the background.
He tends to trust people rather well, but he doesn't put himself in situations that comes up. He is considered a good child, if not terribly quiet. He goes straight to and from school everyday, staying in well lit areas but managing to go unseen. His mannerisms make him almost an unperson. When bullied, he doesn't like to fight back. There are triggers that will make him do so, such as taking his books from him or threatening to damage them, but the bully's safety is more important than even his books. Akhar is aware that something dark is trying to break out of him and worries any confrontation will cause it to come out. Most people get bored with harassing him because he's too reactive.
Personality (Ganondorf)
Ganondorf is not known as the King of Evil because he pets puppies. The man has a sort of sane insanity to him, desiring nothing more than to rework the world in his image. He was raised from birth to be the King of his people, and safe to say it went to his head a bit. The man craves power and is willing to mow down anyone that gets in his way to do it. He feels the best way to control people is via fear. He is more than happy to maim and murder to get what he wants. He is manipulative and is willing to use people's common opinions about Akhar to gain the upper hand. He's got his clever moments, but one of his key issues is his ego. He is likely to make mistakes or leave things that need to be taken care of be because he believes he can't be defeated.
The man also holds a grudge like no one else. He has a certain beef with the Princess and Hero of legends and is known to go out of his way to deal with them. He is good at recognizing power in others and is often loathe to ignore it. If you can actually convince him you are a problem, he tends to pull no stops in trying to destroy you. His ego causes problems in this regard once again as he tends to believe when people swear fealty to him. If everything is going well, there are details he will miss. He has been corrupted absolutely with his power, and it creates a formidable opponent with ego boosted weaknesses.
History (Akhar)
Akhar was born to two parents. He was always smart, doing well in preschool and early elementary. He was rather good looking even as a child and seemed to know the right thing to say around all the girls. Akhar was rather popular. He got good grades, but he was sociable enough that it only got him teased a bit. Overall, pretty well adjusted. However, he was making some enemies by the second grade. When he made another kid feel he had made them look bad by trying to offer help with a problem, he got jumped after school. The kids beat the crap out of him, even at his age. It ended with him being thrown into the middle of the street and him being hit by a car. The injuries were enough to get him hospitalized for a few days. As he lay in the hospital, a thought occured to him. If he only had more power, maybe he could have defended himself.
He returned to school without so much as a cast after they discharged him from the hospital. The kids who had attacked him had gotten away without being noticed, and had all backed each other up. They were given light punishments because no proof could be had it was their fault. They decided to gang up on the child again for the trouble they'd gotten into. Akhar remembered the wish for power in the hospital, and there his memories stopped for about ten minutes...
The next thing Akhar was aware of, he was being restrained by some police. The four boys were laying on the ground severely injured. They all had some broken bones, one even had his face punched in. Akhar himself had quite a bit of blood on him, and he realized in horror that it wasn't his own. He burst into tears at the pure shock of things, and was expelled from school after his parents picked him up. He was put into therapy, but no amount of counseling would pull up the memories of nearly killing the kids. To avoid further issues in that school system, his parents moved him to Hojoshi City and enrolled him there. There were a few rumors, but Akhar's new personality quieted them quickly enough. The child had retreated into books and away from the world, because while he didn't remember what had happened he could feel that darkness still inside of him. What he didn't realize was that for that ten minutes, the suppressed dark side of his soul had taken full dominance.
In his first year of high school, his issues with the darkness inside were still present. On the very first day of school, he felt them raise when he met a boy named Link Yuuki. In the first period, he jumped out of his desk and pretty much barrelled out of the classroom. He tried to avoid Link after that, sensing some kind of connection. Link caught onto the behavior and began harassing him. Akhar never fought back, for fear that even one wish to do so against Link would cause an incident similar to what had happened when he was a child. This would continue into his second year of high school.
About a month ago, the dreams Akhar had carried since the incident when he was a child spiked in intensity. They were clearer, sharper, more dangerous. Now someone was taunting him, someone who insisted he wanted power. This lead to him missing some school and avoiding Link even more than before. Every time Link harassed him, he could feel the grip on that darkness slipping. To make matters worse, he was getting the feeling he was being followed over half the time he went anywhere. His fears were founded when he was approached by a young adult that looked like a ninja. Normally this would be something to laugh about, but he realized the danger he was in and ran for his life.
The ninja got him cornered in the forest-like park in town. He knew he was going to die and part of him flipped that he was just going to let it happen. However, before much could happen the ninja and the faerie beside him were whirling around. Something Akhar isn't sure of happened and the next thing he knew he was blacking out. He would wake up somewhere on Dimension Island, aware that he'd lost control over his inner darkness before vanishing and extremely fearful of all the changes taking place...
History (Ganondorf)
Ganondorf was born as prophecy dictated one hundred years after the last male of his tribe. He was a male to the Gerudo Tribe that lived in the desert outside of Hyrule. Due to his fulfillment of prophecy, he was raised to be the king of his people. He was taught to fight and treated with reverence. It went to his head at a young age, and even in his early teens he was making questionable changes to the Gerudo race. He learned of the holy treasure of the royal family of Hyrule, the legendary Triforce that had been left as a marker by the three golden goddesses. According to legend, anyone who touched it would have one wish granted. As a teenager he worked behind the scenes to instigate a war in Hyrule. He drew back when things became to hot, and eventually the war ended with him retreating back to the Gerudo Valley having to rethink his plans.
In his mid thirties, he took a trip to Hyrule and swore allegience to its king due to the plans he had made. He went under the illusion that if they united their powers, they could make a great force and prevent future wars. However, he merely wanted to remove suspicion from himself. The daughter of the king suspected him in no small amounts, and he could tell the Sheikah that functioned as her nursemaid trusted the princess' assessment of his character. It amused him greatly, but he saw it as no threat. After gaining the trust of the king he travelled Hyrule demanding that he receive the holy stone from the guardians of it in three locations. He cursed the Great Deku Tree of Kokiri forest for his defiance, but was unable to do more as he was called back by the king. He was aware the princess and her new little faerie boy friend had been spying on him.
He went to the Goron Mountain after that and put them in danger of starvation because they refused to give them their holy stone. After that he went to the Zora people and sent a monster into their god, Lord Jabu Jabu. Upon returning from Zora Domain he realized that the annoying little faerie boy had not only rescued the Gorons, but received their stone as a gift. This amused him even further. Upon returning to Hyrule Castle he began to threaten the princess to give him the item known as the Ocarina of Time. It would be needed if the boy fulfilled his expectations and rescued the Zoras and received their stone. However, the princess' annoying little nursemaid raised the alarm over Ganondorf's actions, and he was forced to act. Impa and the princess fled and he chased after them to find the boy outside the palace. He sent a wave of magic at the boy when he refused to tell him the location of the princess.
On a hunch he didn't follow the princess, but instead observed the boy. This would lead to him gaining access to the Triforce and making his wish. However, the item split as he was not worthy of harnessing the three powers in equal force. This would lead to the boy besting him and his getting sealed. From that point on, the boy would come in many incarnations and continue to thwart his plans. Over the centuries, the order of the events blurred in Ganondorf's head, but he knew one thing for sure. If he was to ever get and maintain his wish, he would have to take care of the pesky "Hero" and "Princess".
After an uncountable series of face offs with his advesaries, they ended up together and with child. Ganondorf broke his seal and staged a direct assault on the castle. Link and Zelda were having trouble fighting him as he faced them down in the throne room when he felt the presence of their child behind the door. He used his power to teleport young Sheik in and almost killed him. This sent his parents over the edge and they unleashed a power he had never before seen in the Master Sword. They didn't just defeat him this time, they managed to pool their powers to kill him at the cost of their own lives. Ganondorf would remain sealed until the modern era, where the power expressed by the last rulers of Hyrule would only allow half of his soul to be truly reincarnated. The boy named Akhar was rather perfect... until his first wish for power.
That power created a crack in the seal on the dark half of his soul, which chose to identify itself as Ganondorf. When Akhar was attacked again, Ganondorf ripped dominance from his light half and might have killed the four children had the police not shown up and managed to get in a few lucky shots. Akhar was terrified at what he had done despite lacking the memories and put all his power into suppressing Ganondorf. The King of Evil did not approve, and tried to break out. However, it became far more important to do so when Akhar met a boy named Link Yuuki... who Ganondorf knew beyond doubt was the most recent incarnation of the Hero.
Even then, Akhar managed to keep him suppressed. However, his connection to the non physical world made Ganondorf understand when the veil was weakening. He began to remind Akhar of who he truly was, of his destiny, via dreams. The crack increased. Link's continued teasing of Akhar cracked if further. When Akhar was cornered by a boy that looked to be of some relation to the prince of Hyrule he had tried to use against his parents, Ganondorf refused to die. He was more than willing to kill the Sheikah man when a distraction occurred and the power the Sheikah male drew upon ended up sending Akhar to another world. The shock to Akhar's system caused Ganondorf to lose dominance. But they were on Dimension Island, and the seal Akhar had was weaker than ever...
Other
I am treating Akhar as a dual OC and canon sign up. I asked Ganondorf's player several weeks ago and have yet to get a response. I want to make something very clear here.
Ganondorf as he appears in canon is still available.
I refuse to let my fanfiction version of a character prevent a canon from being playable as he exists. While all the Legend of Zelda games are treated as canon, it would simply be a confusing case of time travel or an Alternate Universe due to Dimension Island thing. However, the importance of canon Ganondorf to Akhar's character made me decide to treat him as a canon sign up.
Akhar's surname is the romaji for the game term for Power.
