Full Name: Mokuba Kaiba
Nicknames: N/A
Age: 12
Height: 142 cm/~4'8"
Weight: 28 kg/~62 lb
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alignment: Neutral Good
Home: Domino City, Japan
Franchise: Yu-Gi-Oh!
Physical Description
For having not yet hit puberty, Mokuba is rather tall for his nationality. His build is fairly scrawny, you wouldn't be able to find a spot of muscle on the pre-teen. His skin tone has a noticeable tan to it, but its not really enough to be called "heavy". It does stand him out from his older brother Seto or the people he tends to hang out with, though.
Mokuba has long black hair. It doesn't look like the pre-teen combs it, the long bangs falling in front of his face but curving to either side to avoid blocking his vision. It is fairly long in the back and rather fluffy all around. This makes it seem a bit on the tall side as well. The bottom tip of his hair is a bit curved, but comes about halfway down his back.
The boy has rather large and very expressive eyes. They are dark purple in color and do allow a family resemblance to Seto. Unlike the older Kaiba, Mokuba's eyes can and do hold a full range of emotion. He is rather normal in regards of emotion, but does tend to lean towards the serious side of things.
Mokuba has a very relaxed style of dress. Even at events that one might expect him to dress up, such as fancy parties or events held by Kaiba Corporation, he tends to be seen in the same casual attire. His outfits all tend to be rather similar, consisting of pants, a striped long sleeved shirt, and an over shirt or jacket of some kind.
His outfit when he arrives at the Island is a common one for him and fits this basic theme. The shirt is a long sleeved shirt with sky blue and blue thick stripes. Over the top of it is a sleeveless padded yellow vest, which he keeps unbuttoned. The silver snap at the top of the tall color is very visible on both sides. He has on blue jeans and simple blue tennis shoes with white soles. They are kept on with velcro straps.
The part of his outfit he always wears, to the point that he even tends to sleep with it on, is a wallet photo sized pendant modeled to look like the back of a Duel Monsters card. It is in fact a custom designed photo frame that he can press the side of to flip open. Inside is a picture of his brother, Seto Kaiba, from about eight years ago. The photo is the second half to the image of Mokuba that Seto carries in his matching pendant. The pendant itself ha a half circle attached to the top of it the same color as the pendant's border. It hangs from Mokuba's neck via a high quality brown rope.
Weapons
Mokuba doesn't have any weapons, nor is he any good at fighting. Unlike his brother, he doesn't carry any Duel Monsters cards. He doesn't even play the game. Mokuba is fairly incapable of defending himself, as well.
Abilities/Powers
Mokuba has the latent ability to summon a Ka from his soul via the power of his Ba. The Ka have been represented in modern times by Duel Monsters cards and spin offs. As for the Ba, he could use it to cast spells depicted in modern cards via trap and spell cards. He is at first unaware of this power. His "natural" Ka is known as Dragon Egger (dub name: Ryu-Ran).
He is recognized as the true owner (aside from the Pharaoh) of one of the seven Millennium Items due to events that have transpired on the Island. It is likely that he would be able to handle the others, although his ability to wield them would vary. The Millennium Torque, having rejected Ishizu as its true owner, has latched onto Mokuba. The Item is able to give him visions of the future, but it does so sporadically. The future is merely the most likely one, as both Yuugi and Atem have proven their abilities to break the predictions.
Skills
Mokuba is quite good at many types of games. He consistently has the top place in arcade games not only in Domino City, but in the entire country proven by how the screens display ranking systems. He is very skilled at board games, but seems to only keep up with the Duel Monsters card game for his brother and the company his brother runs. His strongest skill is in the spin off game known as Capsule Monsters (Capmon for short). While of championship level in both it and many other games, he seems to play games more for enjoyment than to win.
The pre-teen is also quite the skilled hacker, having both learned from his brother and having taught himself a few techniques. He has all the knowledge one would need to run a Fortune 500 company, although he is lacking in most of the underhanded departments. He could very likely run a company of that sort on his own if he was of age.
Personality
Mokuba is somewhat abrasive to people he doesn't know. He's got his heart in the right place a lot of the time, but the pre-teen tends to be very good about keeping his priorities in order. Not one to make a lot of friends for his tendency to bully and try and be the top of the pile, he does have a very close relationship with his older brother. He all but worships the ground Seto walks on, and his priorities tend to be Seto's safety and wellbeing first, everything else second.
He's not the world's most social person and does have some mild anger management issues. He is cheerful and happy when things are going well for Seto, but is known for stuffing things. Mokuba is rather fiercely protective of his older brother. He also hates being an inconvenience to him, listening to what the teenager has to say despite what he really thinks, at least in most cases.
Mokuba seems a bit of a pushover to some, but it is actually a result of knowing when to pick his battles. Unlike his older brother, he won't let his pride get in the way of getting help. While he does show signs of having a prideful streak like Seto, he is also more willing to let down his guard. He will ask for help if he feels he truly needs it, and is more willing to take things at face value, giving fantastical things a more objective look.
History
Mokuba's mother died giving birth to him, so he never knew her. His father died when he was about four. The inheritance was left to his extended family, who bickered amongst themselves and eventually abandoned him and his older brother at an orphanage.
Mokuba was very happy there, not knowing much different from his life. Seto was even then fiercely protective of him, refusing to be adopted without Mokuba. The young boy loved his brother very much and liked nothing more than to play games with him. When Seto beat the owner of KaibaCorp named Gozaburo Kaiba, he was able to force the man to adopt both him and Mokuba.
The boy wanted nothing more than to play more games with his older brother. However, Gozaburo insisted on an education bordering abuse for his new "heir". It would come out years later this was merely to make him a worthy opponent for his deceased biological son, Noah. Gozaburo forced Kaiba into having to increase a crapload of money he gave him to keep his position as heir.
Mokuba was confused by all this. As the younger brother he hadn't been paid much attention to, so he didn't know the workings of business. Seto did his best to explain using cards as a visual guide. Eventually it came to Seto using Mokuba's near blind loyalty and buying Gozaburo out with 51% of the company's shares. This would lead directly to the man's death.
The boy deals with Seto's growing obsession and near insanity. After a while they stop playing games, Seto having lost interest in anything but crushing his opponents. With Seto's obsession with collecting every Duel Monster card (both the early Monsters and Wizards Japanese versions and the American versions), he manages to get himself defeated in a game with another teenager named Yuugi Mutou.
Mokuba sees Seto's rage at the loss as he destroys his trophy room. The boy gets it in his head that if Seto can have just this one more thing, if he can be avenged, the brother he loves might come back. He forces Yuugi into some games himself, but he loses them as well. One of them even results in a Punishment Game that threatens to snap the boy's mind. He only comes out of it out of pure desire to save his brother from the madness he is falling into.
When Seto sets up the Death-T designed to kill Yuugi if he can't get through the challenges, Mokuba begs to be let in as one of the challengers. Seto agrees, but when Mokuba loses the teenager tries to use the system he created based around "Dark Yuugi's" Punishment Games to crush Mokuba. Dark Yuugi comes back and helps save the boy and listens to his heartfelt plea to save his older brother. Dark Yuugi attempts to save the other teenager as requested, forcing him into a several month long coma.
While Seto is out, KaibaCorp falls into a state of disrepair. Seto's loss in the Death-T effected the public perception of the company. A group of corrupt businessman Seto had surrounded himself with make a deal with the American creator of Duel Monsters and president of Industrial Illusions, Pegasus J. Crawford. Mokuba refuses to help him with his plans for a hostile takeover, and ends up getting locked up for it.
Mokuba tries to escape, even managing to do so at one point. He is on the Island where Pegasus is holding his Duelist Kingdom to prove to Seto's corrupt employees that he can run KaibaCorp. Mokuba challenges "The Other Yuugi" to a Duel in an attempt to get the Star Chips needed to get into Pegasus' castle so he can save his brother. He is unmasked and taken prisoner again, but the Other Yuugi promises that he will try to save Seto and KaibaCorp. As punishment for his continued escape attempts, Pegasus uses the power of his Millennium Eye to seal Mokuba's soul into a card. Eventually the Other Yuugi is able to save him and keep his promises.
More events occur over the next year or so. Mokuba gets the help of Yuugi and his friends to free Seto from a virtual RPG created by the employees who tried to betray Seto before. He helps Seto set up and run the Battle City Duel Monsters tournament. In the middle of that, he is kidnapped during the efforts of Noah's electronic ghost to destroy Seto. He is saved by the efforts of the Other Yuugi. He helped Seto destroy the Island the finals of Battle City took place on. He provided what support he could during the events against the Dooma organization and helped Seto with the set up and execution of the KC Grand Prix Duel Monsters tournament.
Eventually Seto vanishes from KaibaCorp without explanation. Mokuba works at tracking him down, and finds out that his older brother had gone to Egypt. Thinking it can only be related to Yuugi and the Pharaoh that the "Other Yuugi" claims to be, he heads to the airport to arrange a flight there. While there he runs into Yuugi's grandfather and another friend of his named Ryuuji Otogi. He arranges for them to all get to Egypt, where they take a boat to the pier.
While Sugoroku and Ryuuji are suffering from jet lag, Mokuba begins to try and figure out where Seto is. The search is coming up spectacularly empty when early the next morning Mokuba manages to catch sight of Ishizu and Rishid in a crowd. He practically barrels out of the hotel and demands to know where his brother is. Rishid is forced to explain due to Ishizu's emotional state, and they explain that the underground area the group was in collapsed on top of them, quite possibly killing them all.
This enrages Mokuba, who runs off and pulls strings to get the Egyptian branch of Industrial Illusions to help at the cave-in. Sugoroku and Ryuuji by this time have learned things and are both rather panicked. The team make it to the cave-in and begin the slow process of clearing it out. It takes two days, and no traces of the people supposedly trapped inside are found. In fact, the only thing that appears to be in there is a gold necklace. Mokuba goes to knock it out of the hand of the person holding it out to him, but the instant the back of his hand contacts it a bright gold flash shoots out... when it vanishes both Mokuba and the Torque would be gone.
