Full Name: Cheryl Finch
Nickname(s): Eagle
Alias(es): Charlie Finch
Age: 24 (1921-1945, when she mysteriously disappeared and was declared legally dead by the United States government)
Height: Slightly above average
Weight: Average
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Alliance: United States Military, Special Task Force 43
Home: Born in Goodland, Kansas, emigrated west to California during the Great Depression. Frequent travel during her service in TF43
Franchise: (None: OC)
Physical Description
Cheryl naturally has long blonde hair, but she cut and dyed it brown for combat purposes. Her eyes are blue, and she has a fair complexion. She has mild musculature in her arms and legs as a result of basic training and military reasons, and average slim build (not fully slender, but not out of shape).
She now currently wears a dark green military jacket, with her task force's symbol emblazoned on the shoulder. Attached to the sleeve she wears a supplementary bandoleer, carrying four special use anti-materiel armor piercing sniper rounds.
Her jacket has light camoflague foliage simulation (known today as a ghillie suit) and her pants are camoflagued for grass environments.
Weapons
Cheryl carries the M1C Garand rifle, which carries a telescopic scope. The M1 Garand has an 8 round clip with .30-06 rounds. Her particular scope is infrared-capable to detect heat signatures. She also holds a Colt M1911A1 handgun, a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun with a 7 round clip. Finally, she has a hunting knife which she can use in extreme close quarters situations.
Abilities/Powers
She has a sense of premonition. In her mind's eye (generally a dream), she sees a target who needs to be eliminated. This prompts her to set up where she can see this person, and when she does, she takes the shot. This occurs with infrequency, about once or twice a month. Other than this premonition, she's no more special than any other human.
Skills
A specially trained markswoman, Cheryl is a veteran sniper. She can easily place a shot from 500 yards with deadly accuracy, and she's skilled at stealth and covert operations. She typically provides overwatch and support for whatever unit she's with.
Personality
Despite the typical Cold Sniper characterization, Cheryl is actually friendly and supportive. She watches her teammates' backs and won't hesitate to take action to rescue them. She jokes around a lot, especially during morbid situations. A psychologist would say she does this to take her mind off the situation. However, if the situation is grave enough, she often finds herself heavily affected by it. She has good focus, though, and it is difficult to distract her from the job at hand.
History
Cheryl was born in Goodland, Kansas on January 14, 1921. Her family were very rural, living on a farm. When the Great Depression struck in October of 1929, her family was among those who were forced out of their homes. They migrated west, and the eight-year-old Cheryl, though sickly and miserable, managed to remain optimistic throughout the arduous emigration.
They reached California and the Finch family found work, Cheryl herself even helping out once she turned ten. Her father, Thomas, in her teen years, taught her how to hunt, and Cheryl quickly took up the sport.
When World War II broke out in 1939, military participation ramped up. Perhaps out of commitment to assisting her country in its recovery (World War II, ironically, may be the primary reason the world was brought out of the Great Depression), Cheryl committed herself to aiding the forces. Because women were not conscripted into the military, she did the only natural thing, disguising herself as a man (Charlie) and joined up with the Army. Her skill with the rifle and her optimistic yet focused attitude quickly earned her the support and admiration of her regiment. "Charlie" Finch was hand-picked to join an elite squadron not officially recognized by the government, known as Task Force 43.
It was only after joining this force that her true identity was discovered. Impressed by her commitment to the cause and her skill, Task Force 43 allowed Cheryl Finch to stay on, as their chief markswoman.
Primarily deployed on difficult reconaissance missions, Cheryl and TF43 held several key operations in the war, though several of her comrades were captured in one particularly hard mission. Cheryl blames herself personally for their eventual execution because she'd failed her duty as overwatch, and contemplated suicide for a brief spell. She did recover from this episode, but she is still haunted by her own conscience for her failures.
She holds her duty in much higher commitment and importance now, and near the end of the war, on her way home from a deployment to Japan, her entire plane home vanished mysteriously and without a trace. Declared missing in action, Cheryl Finch was never heard from again.
