Full Name: Jaron Aubade
Nickname(s): A.J.
Age: 18 physically
Height: Around 5 to 6 feet
Weight: Around 170 pounds
Gender: Male
Race: Replica
Alliance: Good Protagonist
Home: Currently Konoha, originally St. Angelo
Franchise: None (OC)
Physical Description Seeing as he’s a replica of Jaron Roxai, the two of them look identical except for a few features, namely the fact that Aubade has blue hair (also it’s slightly longer). He also typically wears a blue hoodie and a Sonic the Hedgehog t-shirt.
Weapons Aubade uses a Keyblade, called the Blue Sonata. It resembles the Two Across somewhat, only less spikier and it’s blue instead of black and silver. The keychain resembles a musical clef.
Abilities/Powers While he may be a Replica of Roxai, he doesn’t have the same abilities as him. Aubade tends to hit harder than Roxai does and focuses more on dishing damage. He’s faster than Roxai, but he’s physically weaker than him.
His list of attacks is thus:
Strike Raid: Hurls the Keyblade at an opponent.
Zantesuken: This is his own version of the technique, though he has a large tendency to miss with it. It’s different due to the fact that it’s slower than a normal Zantesuken, but it deals more damage.
Shadow Raid: He throws several Keyblades at an opponent, but only one of them is real. The others are used to throw people off.
Healing Song: He plays his Keyblade like a guitar. The music heals any wounds dealt to those who hear it, though it isn’t as effective as Yana’s healing technique (though it has a longer range, as it uses sound waves).
Muscle Bash: Aubade actually takes his Keyblade by the blade and smashes people with the handguard.
Healing Song: He plays his Keyblade like a guitar. The effect is like that of Yana’s Healing Wind, but it’s less effective (though due to the fact that it uses sound waves, it affects anyone who hears it).
Shadow Star: He forms a glowing star-sphere of energy surrounded by black mist in his hand, then he slams it into his opponent. It’s his most powerful attack, but it takes a few minutes to use, and it leaves him exhausted afterwards.
Skills
Other than his use with a Keyblade, he is also a musician, due to his love of music. Hand him any instrument you can name and he’ll know how to play it with some degree of compentence (Though the guitar is the one he knows how to use the best).
Personality Aubade, like Jaron, is generally a rather friendly guy, but he’s not as trusting as Roxai is and he’s also more aggressive, tending to go straight to the violence rather than go for the peaceful solution (though he’ll go for alternatives if they’re pointed out to him).
There are generally three things in life he loves the most: His friends, his girlfriend Cheryl, and music. In fact, he loves music so much that when he’s happy he tends to burst into song or start playing an instrument if he has one. As you can guess, this has caused a great deal of embarrassment for him.
Other than music, his friends and girlfriend take precedence over anything else for him. He WILL deliver a beatdown if you threaten them, and if you kill one of them, you can kiss your own life goodbye.
The fact that he’s a Replica bothered him a lot in the past, but nowadays he’s gotten over it.
His relationship with Roxai is an interesting one. While neither of them knew why they resembled each other so much, they were generally friendly with each other. They have had problems with each other in the past, but in the end accepted each other. Roxai in particular saw each other as brothers, though Aubade thought it was stretching it a bit (though nowadays he doesn’t mind being called as such and even refers to Roxai as the same).
HistoryHoo boy, where do I START?
(Warning, Spoilers for a future fic abound!)
Jaron Aubade was a typical teenager living with his parents in the seaside town of New Angelo. His life was fairly uneventful, with him living his his friends in their as of yet unnamed band and his childhood friend turned girlfriend Cheryl. His life changed, however, when a man in a blindfolded attempted to kill him during his highschool’s talent show. He received the Keyblade that night (though he wouldn’t know until later what it was). The day after, St. Angelo was invaded by strange monsters that apparently killed whatever they touched. During the chaos, Aubade and his friends attempted to find Cheryl, only for Aubade to spot the blindfolded man and attempt to follow him. This predictably led to the cliché of being flung into an interdimensional portal by the annoyed man, right into Roxai’s world, a mere few weeks after the infamous Subspace incident.
Coincidently, he had landed right outside Konoha, and having no idea where he was or what was going on, he was forced to stay in the city for two months. During that time, he struck up a slight friendship with the resident knucklehead Naruto and his squad.
After two months, he ran into Roxai himself (after a series of bizarre events that I shall not spoil here, involving the kidnapping of Naruto by an unknown party). He joined with his group so they could help him find Naruto, as well as a way back home. Soon enough, they met the Blindfolded Man, who proceeded to dump them into ANOTHER portal after thoroughly flattening them.
Two weeks had passed since Aubade had left St. Angelo, and Cheryl had gone missing. Not only that, he had been blamed for the monster invasion without there being evidence to prove it—almost everyone in the town had changed to show an extreme prejudice towards him, almost as if something had changed their personalities entirely. Aubade managed to meet up with his friends and they managed to return to Roxai’s world with the help of a rather unlikely source: Kavma.
Kavma, naturally, didn’t bother to explain anything and simply dumped them into the other world, though his aim was a little off—the entire group was separated. After they managed to reunite with each other, (finding Cheryl in the process, as she had been kidnapped by a man named Evan) the man responsible for kidnapping Naruto, a Dr. Demetrius Black, revealed himself and set loosed a half crazy and mutated Naruto upon Konoha, explaining it to be an experiment. Aubade managed to knock Naruto out of his insanity and left him to be cured by medical staff as he followed Demetrius to Ivalice with Roxai’s gang in tow.
When he and the doctor met there, Demetrius recognized him on the spot and told Aubade a rather disturbing story: before the Subspace incident, he had been commissioned by Kavma to experiment on a Replica for a secret project. The Replica was faceless at first; after most of the experiments were completed he was sent to the Mushroom Kingdom for a trial run. During his stay there, he encountered Jaron Roxai and accidently copied him, causing him to take on his appearance. Shortly afterward, he had been killed by the Blindfolded Man.
Black could not figure out an explanation for why he was alive, however. Aubade, of course, refused to believe him and attacked him, only for him to be effortlessly knocked unconscious, after which one of Jaron’s friends, a girl named Holly, was kidnapped by the doctor for use in an experiment for reviving his dead sister.
After Aubade recovered, he and the others were met by Kavma again, who confirmed Black’s story (A.J. STILL refused to believe it) and stated that after he had died, he had taken pity on him and recreated his ‘soul’—in short, reincarnation. He was then placed in another universe to live out his life peacefully. (as you can expect, this generated a lot of skepticism.) The reason why the Blindfolded man kept trying to kill him was because he had mistaken him for someone else.
After THIS bombshell, Kavma directed them to a pocket dimension where Demetrius had taken Holly. There, they found his lab, where they discovered his notes on his experiments on the Replica. This is was convinced Aubade that it was the truth, and as you can expect, this caused him a great deal of angst. His friends managed to help him overcome this, however, and he moved on.
After encountering Black again, they proceeded to fight, during which one of Aubade’s friends was killed. This lead to Aubade nearly murdering Black, only for Black to sacrifice himself to summon a monster to kill them. This obviously didn’t succeed.
(Thus ends the spoiler.)
The reason why he’s only the island is that he heard from Lucas (a friend)about what happened to Roxai, and, being concerned, he decided to come to find him.
Other
1. In case you’re wondering why he spent several years of his life in St. Angelo when it was only a few weeks after his death in the other dimension, it’s because time flows differently between them. In the words of the Doctor, “Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey.”
2. He developed a dislike of scientists after the Dr. Black debacle, unsurprisingly.
3. He’s the main character of a fic a friend and I are going to write sometime in the future. His history above is the super condensed version, so a lot of details are let out. What’s up there is basically the general gist.
4. He doesn’t like being compared to Jaron.
5. Whenever he and Roxai are in the same space, they refer to each other as A.J. and R.J., respectively. (J.A. and J.R. are harder on the tongue, you see.)
