((I'm actually just using this RP as a springboard for a more private one elsewhere. Something will happen at the mall to set up for a scenario elsewhere. If anyone else who comes here would like, they can continue playing this RP even after my character leaves.))
"The Great Mall" is right, Rico thought. This place is huge!
Rico fell onto Dimensional Island through the Interdimensional Travel Station where he befriended some people such as Leona, Momoko, as well as two different versions of the Powerpuff Girl Blossom. He ran into some issues, including one involving a psychic monkey and another involving a high fever. By the time the Blossoms had taken him to the hospital, not only had his fever broke, but he learned an awesome new psychic move very similar to the one exclusive to Ness called Rockin'.
But enough about that. Here he was at the mall, all those situations behind him. After meeting someone named Lloyd who'd just fallen in himself, Rico came to this very place to purchase some new clothes so he could stop wearing his school uniform. He was able to find the parts to and reconstruct his usual at home outfit: blue tank top over oatmeal turtleneck, khaki pants, and blue laceless shoes.
Right now, though, he'd wandered into a neat little thrift store. At this point, he could be found chuckling to himself while playing with the Mario bobblehead on display.
((I'll say when it starts to get to the point where I'd start to allow fighting...))

"Rico, what are you doing?"
If Rico turned, he would've found Leona standing behind him, holding a few new changes of clothes. Really, that was all she was there for, she needed some new clothes since her school uniform was all that she had, and that was in need of a washing soon enough. The style here on this island was different, to say the least, but it was still comfortable.
Needless to say, Leona's situation was very similar to Rico's.
"What is that thing anyways?" She smiled very lightly. "It's an odd looking toy I must say."

Rico looked around and smiled as he saw her. "Oh, hey, Leona. Haven't seen you since the Powerpuffs dragged me away from the portal station."
He held the toy up for her to see. "It's a bobblehead. See? He head moves when you giggle the body or poke the head." He demonstrated. "They're mostly just for laughs."

Giggling lightly, she gave the bobblehead a light flick causing the toy to nod his head up and down. "It really is an interesting toy." Looking to Rico, she tilted her head. "So how have you been? It looks like you got over that fever..."

Rico set the toy down and let his eyes wander over the under-glass counter displays. "Yeah... it's kinda funny, though... I don't really know how, but somehow I automatically learned a new move with my psychic powers after the fever broke. Certainly came in handy when--whoa..."
Something caught his eye, derailed his train of thought. It was a round, yellow badge with a gray stylized lightning bolt superimposed on top.
"How did you find one of these?" he demanded of the shop owner with great interest.
Without looking up from his magazine, the shop owner replied in a matter-of-fact tone, "Trade secret."

Leona looked at the badge with a mild curiosity. "W-why are you so surprised by it? What is it?"

"It's a Franklin Badge.. they're really rare," Rico explained, not taking his eyes off it once. "Ness, one of my classmate's friends I told you about before, used one of these in his adventure. If you wear it, any lightning- or electricity-based attacks reflect off of you and back at the attacker." He then looked up at the owner and said, "How much for the Franklin Badge in Foggylander pounds?" The owner glanced over at the badge and over at the boy interested in it, and then he said quite plainly, "£25." Rico's face fell. " Twenty five" "Hey, you said so yourself... Franklin Badges are rare," the owner said with a shrug. Rico sighed. "But all I have is eighteen pounds left on me. And I didn't bring any Canadian money with me to add to it."

Scourge had somehow made it to the mall that day. It'd been a while since he dropped in (literally) and he was searching for something to do, someone to fight, trouble to cause and destroy what's right. Anything to prove i'm not that blue goody-goody red shoes, he thought, scowling at the mere thought of Sonic's image.
Although he was taking it slow, his orange sun-specs over his eyes, he glanced over to a small scene involving a boy, girl, and some shop owner. Seeing this as an ample opportunity to cause trouble, the Sonic recolor grinned his fanged teeth as he turned on the super speed, giving the thing a good look-see.
"I'd say that thing's rare," he started off, pulling up his sunglasses for a better look. "It's not everyday you see a stinking pin with a lightning bolt through it, what is that thing, custom made?!" Hoping he ticked someone off, he laughed at his insult, actually not seeing the point to it.

Leona took in what Rico said with great interest; that sounded like quite the tool to have. She was about to say something to the shop keeper when Scourge stepped in. Leona was lightly surprised to find a GREEN Hedgehog with orange sunglasses appear, but more confused then that, as to what he was trying to get at with his insult.
Deciding not to think about it, she sighed lightly, before reaching into her pocket. Perhaps she could help. "U-um... Excuse me sir?"
The Shop Keeper looked to her with a raised eyebrow, as Leona pulled out a checkbook. "H-how much in Radiata Currency, or Dagol's, to cover the rest of that?"
The shop keeper thought about that... "Hmmm... Dagols... That's a currency I haven't heard of in a while..." Grinning, he seemed to recall what he wanted. "Ah yes. Your friend can cover 18 of the 25 himself... So that leaves 7 left... And at the current exchange rate in Dagol's, I'd say that leaves the tab at.... 16,000 Dagol's."
Before anyone could gawk at the number, Leona sighed in relief. "I suppose that's a fair amount, and it's not relatively expensive." She easily produced what looked like Dollar bills with the mugshot of an old king on them, two of them labeled 5,000, and three labeled 2,000. At the looks she turned to Rico and Scourge. "What? At best, 16,000 dagol's isn't that expensive." With that said, she handed over the dagol's to the shop keeper.

Rico cast Scourge a wary look but one that said, 'I'm ignoring you, 'cause you just want a raise out of someone' and turned his attention to Leona as she offered to pick up the rest of the tab.
"Wow..." Rico mumbled in shock. "That currency exchange rate is... well, a bit drastic."
After counting through his payment, the shop keeper pulled the Franklin Badge out of the display case and handed it over to Rico. Looking over the badge in his hands, he frowned a bit and said to Leona, "Kinda feel bad, though, with you having to carry some of my money weight for this." He smiled and held it out. "I'll pay you back later, OK? You can hold onto it as collateral." He added, "I insist," before she could even have the chance to protest.

In mere seconds, the badge was snatched out of his hands and in Scourge's, looking it over a bit of a distance from the other two. "I still don't see the point to this thing," he said, his blue eyes glancing it over. "But I'll just keep it as a souviner when I get back to my loyal subjects back on Moebius."
With a quick charge and a super speed jump, he launched himself onto the wall and bounced off to the other side, pretty sure he couldn't be reached from there. "Not so easy catching the fastest villain alive, is it?!"

Leona was caught by surprise by how Scourge had managed to grab the badge covered a huge distance to get away from them in the span of 3 FREAKING SECONDS, before he jumped over them and jumped to the other side of the mall in about 5.
Surprised was a good word for it, but it melted away quickly. "H-HEY!!! Give that back!!" Leona looked panicked. "That doesn't belong to you!!"

Rico gave the Scourge a moment or so to gloat further. That way, he'd have a full-plate of words to eat when he suddenly applied his psychokinetic energy to his speed (a method normally used to jumpstart a teleport) and appeared in barely over a blink of an eye next to him.
With a smirk, he told him, "Yeah, you're not that fast compared to a practiced psychic," as he plucked the Franklin Badge from him.

The re-done hedgehog nearly tripped, the badge taken from him so easily... TOO easily. "Peh, like I need that worthless thing anyway. Geeze, stupid kids, alwys gotta messwithmeioughtta.." He just kept mumbling as he walked off, severely ticked off. He'd find some way to get back at him, but for now, he needed to blow some steam.

When Rico reclaimed the badge from Scourge, Leona had almost expected the hedgehog to retaliate... However, when he walked off grumbling, she let out a relieved sigh. "Phew..." She ran up to Rico once Scourge was completely gone. "That was a close one..."
She watched as the Hedgehog walked off. "...... Who was that jerk?" She actually frowned a little, looking indignant.
