Well, it's my canon app time of the week again. And, since no one has made a bid for this one...
Full Name: Jeremie Belpois
Nicknames: Einstein, occasionally Frankeinestein
Age: 13
Height: Average, I assume
Weight: See height
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alliance: Good
Home: Kadic Academy, Boulogne-Billancourt, Paris, France
Franchise: Code Lyoko
Physical Description: Jeremie has blond hair and blue, near-sighted eyes. He wears oval glasses to correct his vision. His outfit is a dark red long-sleeve shirt, brown pants with light blue stripes going down the side of the legs, and dark blue shoes. His pajamas are dark blue. He has a Lyoko form, but no one but Ulrich Stern, Odd Della Robbia, and Jeremie himself knows what it looks like. Ulrich described Jeremie as looking as "ridiculous," but he may have either been describing his costume, performance, or maybe a combination of both. Who knows?
Weapons: None, other than his mind and the supercomputer. As Jeremie has a Lyoko form, it's a given he'd have a Lyoko weapon, but we have no idea of knowing what that is, since he's claimed he's never going back.
Abilities/Powers: His genius IQ (his power on Lyoko are unknown)
Skills: Schoolwork, computers, and robotics. On the flip side, Jeremie's pretty much lame at all athletic fields... except, surprisingly, swimming, which he's actually pretty good at.
Personality: Jeremie is a highly intelligent boy, enough to be skipped ahead one grade. He's generally a well-meaning, thoughtful person, though he can be quite stubborn at times, and something of a workaholic. It's not uncommon for Jeremie to blow off his friends' invitations to join in some recreational activity to instead work on his programs for fighting XANA. Still, he cares deeply for his friends, and will do anything to save them--even send himself though the scanners he's normally to afraid to enter otherwise. This is particularly so for Aelita, whom he has romantic feelings for.
History: Jeremie is the single child of Mr. and Mrs. Michel Belpois. Jeremie obviously inherited his brains from his mom rather than his dad, but Michel has always been 100% supportive of his genius son. At one point of his earlier childhood, Michel attempted to encourage Jeremie to dive into the sport of swimming (pun intended), but he kindly accepted his son's decision to go into robotics instead.
Around the age of 11, Jeremie's parents enrolled him at a boarding school in the western Paris suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt known as Kadic Academy. There, he quickly rose to highest GPA of his class, earning the jealousy of fellow boy genius Herve Pichon, but it seemed his never could make any friends at the school. He spent most of his time designing miniature robots for trivial purposes.
On the night of October 9th of his first year at Kadic, Jeremie snuck off-campus to an old abandoned car factory, where he hoped to find leftover mechanical parts to use for his robots. While at the factory, he stumbled upon an old freight elevator that led down to an underground, three-level laboratory. Inside, he found the the biggest, most advanced supercomputer he'd ever seen. Curiosity getting the better of him, he decided to start up the computer to explore its contents. When he booted up the four-monitor interface on the top floor of the lab, he saw a window showing a sleeping virtual girl. The girl woke up and spoke to Jeremie, having no idea who or where she was.
To try to find out the answers to the girl's questions, Jeremie spent the night looking up and reading all the data he could find on the supercomputer. His research revealed that the supercomputer contained a virtual environment called Lyoko, and that three cabins in the middle lab floor --called "scanners"--could be used to convert a person's body into computer data and send them into the virtual world--or "virtualize" them. However, he couldn't find the girl's name, so he dubbed her Maya for convenience sake. Lyoko was filled with odd, cylindrical, blue-glowing towers--one of which Maya had been in when she woke up. Maya did a little exploring outside of the tower, which opened up new programs for Jeremie, revealing that Lyoko was built up of four sectors representing different real worlds environments--ice, desert, mountain, and forest--the latter of which Maya was in. Unfortunately, Maya was soon attacked by weird looking monsters with some kind of eye-like logo on their bodies, and Maya was forced to retreat to the tower, where her life points regenerated.
Jeremie soon found himself the target of attacks as well. Trying to buy some juice from the school vending machine the next morning, Jeremie was electrocuted by the machine, and his classmate, the soccer player Ulrich Stern, took him to the infirmary. That evening, Jeremie's robots mysteriously sprang to life and tried to kill him, and the odd eye-logo seen on the Lyokian monsters flashed on his monitor as they did. This attack drew Ulrich's attention, and Jeremie was forced to show him the supercomputer.
After introducing Maya to him, Jeremie told Ulrich of his plans to develop a program that ran like virtualization in reverse--to materialize Maya into the real world. When Ulrich expressed doubt that either virtualization or materialization were possible, Jeremie suggested using a guinea pig to test out the virtualization process, and Ulrich nominated the mutt named Kiwi belonging to his new roommate, Odd Della Robbia, who wasn't even allowed pets at Kadic. Unfortunately, Odd followed Ulrich back to the factory, along with Ulrich's annoying ditsy stalker, the Principal's daughter Sissi Delmas. In a case of switcheroo, Odd ended up in the scanner in Kiwi's place right as Jeremie began the virtualization process.
Odd was attacked by the same monsters that went after Maya just was he was getting an understanding of where he'd just appeared, so Jeremie sent Ulrich as backup while he prepared to devirtualize him. However, Jeremie was interrupted by the same eye-logo after sending Ulrich, and the wiring in the lab sprang to life to attack Jeremie, Kiwi, and Sissi. Meanwhile, on Lyoko, Ulrich and Odd stumbled upon the Ice Sector while looking for Maya, and Ulrich made note of one far-off tower that was glowing red, instead of blue. They were then attacked by larger, block-shaped monsters and killed, but their virtual deaths fortunately just sent them back to the real world where they rescued Jeremie from the possessed wiring.
After putting the computer back together, Jeremie researched a little more, based on what Ulrich and Odd told him of their little adventure. He concluded that beings originally from the real world could materialize when the lose all their life points, but Maya could not. Maya, however, does know by now that she can use the towers to regenerate her life points, and that certain ones can be used to travel to other sectors. Jeremie had also discovered what the towers on Lyoko do--their portals between Lyoko and the real world, and the red glow of the tower Ulrich saw meant it was activated. Jeremie concluded that this activated tower could be used to materialize Maya. But Ulrich, Odd, and Sissi were less than enthusiastic to go (back in the former two's case) to Lyoko to escort her. However, they agreed in the end, making a vow to keep all of this a secret.
They went onto their regular school activities, deciding to escort Maya to the red tower later that day. Odd spent the day with Jeremie on the library to try getting help on his electrochemistry report, nicknaming him "Einstein" out of respect for his intellect. Just as Jeremie discovered a particularly interesting program called "Return To The Past" that could reverse time by about a day or so, word of mouth revealed to Jeremie and Odd that Sissi had been taken to the infirmary due to electrocution. Investigating further, the two overheard Nicholas Poliakoff's story to Principal Delmas of how Sissi was attacked by an electricity monster in her dorm, and they realized it had to be by the same entity that was attacking Jeremie and Maya.
Calling Ulrich, Jeremie found out the same electric monster had attacked him as well, but he managed to escape unscathed. The group then decided to try materializing Maya then and there, and Ulrich was forced to bring a witness of his attack--his martial arts class partner and Japanese-European girl from a grade above them, Yumi Ishiyama--along with them. With quite a bit of teamwork; Ulrich, Odd, and Yumi were able to guide Maya to the tower before the monsters devirtualized the three of them. But the electric monster that attacked Sissi and Ulrich appeared at the factory and attacked Jeremie.
Meanwhile, Sissi had recently woken up and, in her panic, forgot her vow of secrecy and took her father and the the gym teacher, Jim Morales to the factory. When Maya entered the tower, she found an interface that identified her as Aelita. But instead of materializing her, the interface only deactivated the tower, which fortunately stopped the attack on Jeremie. Unfortunately, a rather disturbed principal ordered Jeremie to shut the supercomputer down, and Ulrich shunned Sissi for breaking her vow. To avoid trouble, Jeremie launched the Return To The Past to erase all those events.
The RTTP erased everyone's memories except those of Yumi, Ulrich, and Odd. This, however, left Jeremie confused as to how they knew his secret. When the three filled him in on what he forgot and concluded that their vitalization's had made them immune to the memory-wipe, Jeremie decided to scan himself to make himself immune as well, despite Aelita's protests that the supercomputer should be shut down. But Jeremie insisted he be allowed to continue trying to build a materialization program for her just a little longer, and she relented. Some more research revealed to Jeremie and the others that the entity that tried to attack them was a powerful, sentient program named XANA, who activates towers to attack the real world. Realizing that Aelita had the power to deactivate these towers, the group of kids banded together, calling themselves "Lyoko Warriors," and vowed to keep helping Aelita reach XANA's activated towers whenever he attacked until Jeremie could materialize her into the real world.
As time went on, the three warriors grew better at fighting XANA's various monsters, and Jeremie continued to develop strong feelings for the girl he was trying to make real. At one point, Aelita disappeared from Lyoko, and a girl that looked just like her appeared at Kadic, convincing Jeremie he'd managed to materialize her, but the shock gave her amnesia. When it was discovered that XANA merely had Aelita in a trap on Lyoko, and the girl led the police to the factory, Jeremie had to run the RTTP for damage control. Another time, another failure to create the materialization program led to an argument between Jeremie and Aelita. Jeremie felt so guilty he tried having Yumi virtualize him to Lyoko so he could apologize in person. Unfortunately, Yumi's lack of experience with the supercomputer led Jeremie to be stuck in limbo between worlds, and he was nearly deleted had Aelita not been able to reach out to Jeremie in the nick of time and send him back to Earth. In that fleeting moment, Jeremie and Aelita met for the first time, and that brief encounter was enough for them to realize how they truly felt for each other.
It was over a year later, but Jeremie finally perfected the materialization program and brought Aelita to Earth. But when they tried shutting down the supercomputer, Aelita's pulse dropped and she passed out; she recovered after they started the computer back up. After an analysis of her virtual code, Jeremie concluded that XANA had infected her with a virus just before materialization to keep her connected to him. If XANA got destroyed, so would Aelita. It seemed Aelita would have to always remain on Lyoko to watch out for activated towers, but Jeremie created a program called the "Super Scanner" that could do that for her, allowing her to live on Earth as a Kadic boarder while he tried creating an anti-virus for her. Around the same time, he created three flying vehicles for his friends--a skateboard called the Overboard for Odd, a motor-unicycle called the Overbike for Ulrich, and a scooter-type hovercraft called the Overwing for Yumi.
While Aelita began living on Earth, she began to receive strange visions that led her to a cottage in the woods called the Hermitage. There, she discovered secret door in the backyard to the sewers the gang used to get to the factory and a doll she somehow knew was named Mr. Pück, in which Jeremie found the key to a train station locker. It was in the locker that he found a suitcase filled with encrypted CD-Roms containing the diary of the house owner and former science teacher at Kadic, Franz Hopper. While this was happening, XANA had taken over the RTTP and ran it over and over again. It was then that Jeremie discovered that the RTTPs increased the supercomputers power, and XANA now had enough power to possess people--a process the Lyoko Warriors came to call Xanafication. Jeremie was, fortunately, able to set up firewalls around the RTTP program to prevent XANA from taking over it again. However, XANA possessed Jeremie and used him to attack the Lyoko gang and destroy Hopper's CDs. But when the tower controlling Jeremie was deactivated, Jeremie revealed he'd copied the CDs to a restricted access section of the supercomputer that their enemy couldn't reach before he was Xanafied. When the gang realized they couldn't be Xanafied because they have experience fighting XANA's monsters on Lyoko, they tried building up Jeremie's immunity by taking him to Lyoko with them. But his embarrassing first successful trip led him to vow never to set foot on Lyoko again.
Around the same time all this was happening, XANA had begun sending a new monster--a jellyfish creature Jeremie named the Scyphozoa--to try stealing Aelita's memories. No one knew why, but they knew they'd always have to be there to stop the Scyphozoa. The Scyphozoa first attacked her when XANA led Aelita to a mysterious 5th sector in the middle of Lyoko, which the Lyoko gang could only access by Jeremie typing in the password "Scipio" while they stood at the edge of a surface sector. A later exploration of Sector 5 revealed it contained an interface with access to Lyoko's core programming and XANA's own data.Meanwhile, Aelita's virus was still causing trouble. At one point, the supercomputer's uranium isotope battery began running out of power, and XANA was forced to work with his enemies to replace it, or both he and Aelita would die. Another time, Jeremie had developed a multi-agent system of black spheres that destroyed monsters based on ant philosophy. His program, called the Marabounta, began attacking Aelita however due to her virus, and Jeremie lost control of the program due to a few laser arrows from Odd driving it haywire. Since XANA still needed Aelita's memory, he sent his monsters to help the Lyoko Warriors destroy the Marabounta. Jeremie was eventually able to destroy his own program by encoding a virus onto one of Odd's arrows, which he subsequently fired at the first sphere.
At one point, one of the towers on Lyoko started glowing white, and a myserious force took over Sissi, trying to relay a message to the gang. But it was speaking backwards through her, so it used her to type out a string of code on the supercomputer that could be translated into a message for the gang. XANA tried to stop this being from getting its message accross, but the Lyoko gant was able to stop XANA. When they played the message, the being was revealed to be none other than Franz Hopper.
During one of their exporations of Sector 5 and its interface, Aelita discovered a decoding program wich Jeremie planned on using to decode Franz Hopper, controlling the program by a special means he'd recently develop that allowed him to activate towers just like XANA, turing their glow green. Unfortunately, XANA kidnapped Odd and sent a shapeshifting secter in his place to sabatoge the mission while tried taking control of Jeremie's tower. But the tower then turned white as Hopper expelled XANA from the tower and allowed Jeremie to finish his decoding. Jeremie discovered from the diary that Hopper was in fact the creater of Lyoko, XANA, and the supercomputer it contains. He also discovered something shocking--Aelita wasn't a virtual being native to Lyoko, but Hopper's daughter whom he virtualized onto Lyoko with him! The data from Jeremie's computer made Jeremie realize XANA had stolen data from Aelita, not given her a virus, which was why he couldn't create a successful anti-virus. He also learned that Hopper programmmed his and Aelita's virtual codes with the Keys of Lyoko, making the gang realize XANA was really using the Scyphozoa to try stealing those keys from Aelita to escape the supercomputer.
Jeremie managed to locate Aelita's missing data in Sector 5 and set up a mission with the Lyoko Warriors to retrieve it, but Aelita was so overwhelmed by everything they've just learned that she decided to shut down the supercomputer, despite the fact that it would kill her in the process. Jeremie managed to restart the computer before her death was permanent and convince her to move on with her life, and they went on with the mission. But the data Jeremie found turned out to be a trap, and XANA was able to devirtualize Aelita's protectors and isolate her with the Scyphozoa. The monster drained Aelita's memory entirely, allowing XANA to escape and leave Lyoko and Aelita to die. But Franz Hopper was able to intervene after XANA's escape, returning all the data XANA stole from Aelita--including the missing data from before, her childhood memories--and reviving both his daugher and his virutal world. With Aelita back, Jeremie vowed they would hunt XANA down wherever he hid in the World Wide Web and destroy him.
Over the next summer, Jeremie managed to create a program that could track XANA on the web and began trying to develop a vehicle that could safely take his friends into the Internet after him. But when XANA realized he was being hunted, he sent his monsters to Lyoko to try destroying a sphere in the center of Sector 5 containing Lyoko's vital programs--the Heart of Lyoko. When the Lyoko Warriors proved too much of an obstacle, XANA changed tactics and began using the Scyphozoa to possess Aelita whenever she came to Lyoko and use her to destroy surface sectors. That led Jeremie to try developing an extention to the virtualizaton program that would allow him to virtualize his friends directly into Sector 5. He managed this not long after the final sufrace sector was destroyed. But after awhile, XANA's continuous attacks on the gang were beginning to wear on the Lyoko Warriors and they decided to try initating a new member to ease the burden.
After Yumi's classmate William Dunbar helped the gang out of a jam in which XANA tried to blow the factory up, they decided to make him their fifth warrior, but Yumi refused to let him in. However, certain circumstances made her change her mind. But when it came time for William's first mission--stopping another of XANA's attacks on the Heart of Lyoko--extenuating circumstances led to the delay of all the Lyoko Warriors except William and Aelita. As a result, the two went in alone, and William's cocky attitude led to William being possessed by the Scyphozoa. The rest of the gang arrived soon after, but XANA-William made quick work of the original warriors and stabbed the Heart of Lyoko, destorying the virtual world. After a time of mourning when the gang felt all was lost, Franz Hopper sent them an e-mail from the Internet, revealing he managed to escape Lyoko's destruction and telling them out to rebuild it.
Using Hopper's data, Jeremie was able to recreate Lyoko sector by sector, starting with Sector 5. He also increased the shielding on the Heart of Lyoko to make it even harder for XANA to destroy it. But when XANA realised what he did, he went the still possessed William to pretend he escaped his clutches until he could kidnap Aelita and take her to Lyoko. Now Jeremie had to continue working on his Internet vehicle, and he and his friends had to keep William from throwing Aelita into the Digital Sea and find out why he wanted to do this. Meanwhile, Jeremie started trying to teach the others the basic functions of the supercomputer, just in case neither he nor Aelita could during a XANA attack. His fear was realised not long after, and Ulrich, Yumi, and Odd managed to perform Jeremie's basic duties for each other while he was unconscious.
Once Jeremie finally finished his virtual ship, Aelita named it the Skidbladnir (or Skid for short) in memory of the book of Viking legends her father would always read to her from when she was little. The gang took it out for a test run, but when the navigational system failed, Jeremie had to run back to his dorm to retrieve the data and fix it. Jeremie had to scale the dormitory roof to get to his room, because fire safety day meant no one was allowed inside for anything. However, no one in the gang believed him when he told them what he did.
While exploring the Internet, the Lyoko Warriors came across another virtual world, which Jeremie realised was a Replika of Lyoko created by XANA. In response to this discovery, Jeremie created a way to transform the Lyoko Warriors' virtual forms into specters in the real worlds, so they can use their Lyoko powers and weapons to destroy the supercomputers XANA houses his Replikas in. Meanwhile, William eventually did manage to chuck Aelita into the Digital Sea, where she was nearly lost forever had it not been for Hopper's timely intervention. It was then revealed why William was doing this--to draw Franz Hopper out into the open where XANA could kill him. Hopper fortunately got away with the aide of his daughter.
A week or so after one particularly unusual XANA attack where he caused people to go crazy through their cell phones while Odd's parents were visiting, a portal to Dimensional Island opened up in the sewers, closer to the factory. Shortly after, while Jeremie and Aelita were exploring the Hermitage some more, Rico--a boy more or less their age with unusual psychic powers--appeared and kidnapped Aelita. While Rico sent Aelita to Lyoko and into William's waiting clutches, Jeremie learned from a few others who came through the portal the nature of Dimensional Island and identity of XANA's new puppet.
The Lyoko Warriors were able to stop the attack, but Jeremie realised XANA would continue to target Dimensional Island and its inhabitants. It was because of this that he approved Odd's suggestion to start hanging out the island every once and awhile; it would help them get to everyone and everything there and what to do when another got Xanafied...
Other: Jeremie owns a multierminal computer which he has set up in his dorm. He can use this and his laptop to observe Lyoko remotely, and he can use his computer to set up and test program he will later use on the supercomputer. Jeremie and Aelita are voiced by the same actress, though she voices them well enough that its impossible to tell.
