Li'l D looked at the map in his hands, a map to ancient ruins. These ruins were said to hold four relics. The relics would turn whoever united them into the most powerful being in any and all universes. He wanted them, not just for the sake of raw power, but to prevent it from being used for evil and to prevent any hero from going power-mad.
"Armageddon, the relic of overwhelming strength, should be in those ruins just up ahead" he said to himself.

Li'l D turned around to face the source of the voice. "To prevent it from being used by evil, and also to prevent a hero from becoming overconfident or power-mad."

The human groaned. "Okay, plan A didn't work; now it's time for some monkey-hunting!" The appearance of the human shimmered away, revealing a grey-skinned, big-headed alien in a silver suit. In the alien's hands was a large gun.
"Now, let's see which monkey's smart enough to not get shot."

Li'l D wasn't scared; at least, he wasn't going to turn tail and run. "I'm not the monkey dumb enough to just stand here!" He ran. In the direction of the ruins.

Sasha gave him an odd look. "You wouldn't be a reference to a certain movie adaptation of a video game from the early 90's, would you?" Odd that the fact it transformed before his very eyes didn't seem to bother him.

Li'l D looked back at Sasha. "I don't know what you're talking about, but it looks like you're the one dumb enough to stand there and get shot!"

"Oh, guess you both get to get shot!" The alien said as its gun turned into a green, pointy looking gun. He pointed at Li'l D as he ran. "Eat probe, monkey."

Li'l D knew it was time to run. Fast. Faster than the probe. He didn't know what it did, or if it was just an ordinary bullet, but he did not want to find out. "Bye!"

The alien groaned as the gun began charging up. He fired, and... hit a raven that had flown in the way. After a few seconds of painful screeching, the raven's head exploded.
"Oh, well; I'll get him later." The alien said irritably. "He might know something about what happened to me... er... Crypto-138."

Li'l D looked back. He saw the raven, and felt as though God was watching over him. "So it kills. I'm getting out of here in case the alien wants to attack me again."
