Fletcher sighed. "Seems that way nowadays..."

At a small stir in Marion, Double D held her close for a moment, then turned away, smiling at everyone. "We're going in to join Felix for some rest." He paused, and his wings fluttered a little bit in response to the sudden emotion filling him. "....thank you. All of you. We all took down the Prince of Darkness... together."

"Hehehe, not a problem," Trevor said.

"Quite the close battle," Shine muttered to herself. "But... what will happen to Shadow when she wakes up to see... her beloved dead?"

"...good question," Fleetfoot noted, emerging from the bedroom. He nodded to Double D as he passed by, closing the door behind him. "I caught a glimpse of his and Felix's exchange; quite noble, I'll have to say."

"He kept his promise, too," Raz added. "I don't know about you guys, but I don't remember their soulnames anymore. I tried to when I thought about it, but I'm drawing a blank."

"Indeed," Fletcher nodded. "They both seem in better spirits as well. I guess this was the miracle you were talking about, Skywise."

"Heh. Never thought it would play out like that," the elf chuckled, sitting back comfortably. "But I'm glad for them."

"As am I," Masahiro said. "It all worked out in the end... and peaceful days may reign for a long time due to the depression of our author."

"I still think it's mean to think that way, but... whatever," Trevor said.

"Mmm... right, then," Fletcher noted emptily, checking over his weapons. "I'm heading out."

"Wha?" Matilde asked tiredly, having collapsed on the couch. "Out where?"

"I'm making a quick sweep over Void City, to secure the area," he elaborated, opening the window. "Want to make sure all traces of Lucifer are gone... as well as making sure the populace isn't panicking over the fight in the park."

(Will do... Maybe Fletcher can kill off Lawrence; despite being evil, he is only human and a bullet to the head is... that.)

"I doubt they'll be panicking; this kind of chaos should be considered normal," Masahiro said.

"You'd be surprised," Shine replied.

"Just for security's sake. I'll sleep better tonight once I know he's gone," Fletcher sighed, sitting on the windowsill. "...or something to that effect. Don't ask me why I'm so anxious..." He paused, swinging his feet out. "...watch over the others. I'll return shortly." And with that, he slipped out of sight, hovering into town swiftly.

"I understand his paranoia... people like that Lawrence fellow still running around... It must suck," Masahiro said.

"Lawrence?" Eddy asked, sitting next to Nazz. "Who's that guy again?"

"THAT name, I remember," Raz replied. "I think someone mentioned it before the attack on the complex. He's linked to the religious group, right?"

Meanwhile, in the bedroom, Double D had no paranoia to speak of. Only calm and ease motivated his soft steps as he apporached the bedside, looking over his asleep lover fondly. Marion was cooing in delight as she stared at her father's wings, still visible and glittering behind him.

"Goodness... what a day," he thought out loud, sitting down on the edge and placing Marion between him and Felix. She gently touched the glowing feathers, giggling, as he thought to himself. "...who would've guessed... it would've turned out this way? Not me, that's for certain."

Marion cocked her head questioningly.

"I mean... me, an ANGEL, for heaven's sake...!" He paused, sighing. "I mean... I feel the same, but.... I know things are going to be different... who knows what kind of evil would come in next wanting my new powers, right?"
