King thought about that for a minute. Then he sighed softly. "Everyone struggles. It is just the design of life. No matter what we do, who we are... we have to struggle against something."

"Fallen for life... funny, that's how I felt for a long time," King said. "I never believed in God because... well... the church controlled the place I was born in. There was no such thing as seperation of church and state. When it came down to it, if you didn't believe in God, or, more importantly, didn't follow the words of the church, then you were to be hunted down and destroyed. When Lawrence came into power, it was definently when homosexuals were hunted down and... well after that, I found God to be my enemy. Our group was formed and we fought, but... well... you know. I was the only survivor along with Lawrence's son, Michael, who was also part of our cause... but I do not know where he has gone."

"Mm... in a way, I guess I could've called God my enemy too," Fletcher replied. "It was a religious cult that had killed my family and comrades in their holy duty to rid the world of heathens who had powers they felt we didn't deserve..." He paused. "...but I do not feel they serve the same God I have seen. It was not the same God that gave Eddward his wings. That's what I believe."

"That may come sooner than you think, but you never know," Fletcher sighed. "So much has happened... yet I fear it's all far from over." He glanced at King. "...are you willing to stay with us during our struggles? I'll protect you with all my power if it comes to that."

"... I'd love to, but... wouldn't I be a burden to you if I did?" King asked. Just like pretty much a anyone with a concious... he did not want to disturb anyone for his own sake.

Fletcher immediately shook his head. "Of course not. I'm doing this for you. Don't think of yourself as a burden." He smiled. "In the meantime, I can teach you how to improve your aim in shooting. You have a talent for that, it just needs a little refinement."
(Question: Are we done with the Angel Spring thread? And if we are, can we proceed to the idea I shared with you earlier? The whole Crytalization Purification thing with Double D?)
