Physical Description
Yi-Min looks fairly proper. She has excellent posture and walks with a load of self confidence. She obviously takes care of herself and such. Her hair is an extremely dark shade of purple to the point of bordering on black in most light levels. She keeps it tied in a bun and ponytail, and uses things such as safety pins to wrap it around the bun. The safety pins are hard to make out, lending to a rather impressive style. She allows two wispy bangs to fall to either side of her face, and they have a very slight corkscrew twist to them. When her hair is down, it falls just past her hips and is cut straight across, but she tends to only wear it as such during extremely important/fancy meetings. She looks far prettier with it down.
Her eyes are rather intense, the type that lets a person know she will accept no nonsense. They are somewhat exotic and have the epithantic folds of her Chinese lineage. Her skin is really rather smooth, but there is no doubt she is Chinese in terms of genetics. Her eyes are the same dark purple as her hair, but somehow manage to look purple more often, perhaps because of the way light reflects off eyes. She has fairly gorgeous eyelashes, and does nothing special to them to accomplish the look.
Yi-Min tends dresses in female business-like attire when in the Global Alliance building, meaning heels and the fairly tight skirts often seen on "fashionable" business women. She prefers pants and combat-like boots and whenever she is on the field in an assignment will wear them. The pants fit well, not to tight or loose. The boots look like the black combat boots they are. However, she is fully able to dress for whatever situation she needs to, even if that means next to nothing.
When she comes to the island she is wearing a slightly tight tan shirt with long sleeves and black pants of the aforementioned style. She also has on the previously mentioned combat boots. The shirt is tucked in, and she wears a brown trenchcoat over it. On her head are somewhat fancy goggles that those who knew technology would realize are for seeing in things like horrible weather, darkness, and sandstorms. Pretty much all purpose techno goggles. On the left arm of her trenchcoat is the Global Alliance logo. It basically consists of a white spaceship modeled to resemble a sword over a navy patch with a black border. The letters "GA" are at the bottom in dark red over the base of the ship, and "Global Alliance" are at the top (one word on either side of the "blade" part of the space ship in white.
She has light body armor concealed under her clothes. Its about as heavy as her armor could be without it being apparent she had it on. You'd have to see under her clothes to notice it, though.
Weapons
Yi-Min carries a laser pistol. She carries it on a fairly normal waist holster. The holster is black leather and doubles as a belt. However, the way she wears her trenchcoat conceals it, but she is very willing to make a point she has it if needed by flipping back the trenchcoat to show it. It uses a special technology that means it doesn't need charging, but it does rely on some computer programming to work. It can be charged up manually if that technology fails.
Inside its fairly complex in terms of technology, but on the outside it looks like little more than a black metal gun. The exit point for the laser is flat, though, so its obvious it doesn't fire normal bullets. Its not a phaser, and as such only has the standard "potentially lethal" setting.
Abilities/Powers
Yi-Min's abilities all fall best under the skills section. She doesn't have anything in the way of supernatural powers, which is quite the benefit. The only kind that exists in her homeworld are psychic powers, and well.... just read the history section.
Skills
Yi-Min is skilled in gunfights. She is more than capable of hiding her weapon on her, and if she can get a chance to do so can make her pistol almost impossible to find by removing it from the holster and squirreling it away elsewhere. She is an excellent judge of an opponent, but despite her skill with her pistol much prefers to use more diplomatic skills in confrontations.
She is excellent at boosting her allies and back when she was piloting Psycho-Slaves was a great squadron leader. She is pretty much an expert on all types of weapons unless they are completely outlandish to her world (rare, as she has studied even archaic ones and her world was much like our own until the Superstorm hit).
As one of the highest ranked members of the Psychic Apprehension Squad, or PAS, she has many skills relating to this. She is excellent at things like negotiations and government red tape, and is a very good negotiator. She is also deceptively good at interrogation and intimidation and can drive/operate heavy military vehicles and mechas, although her main experience with the latter are the Psycho-Slaves. She'd have issues with a mecha that had limits on how much power it could put out.
She is well mannered and rather polite, and fairly skilled at getting info without resorting to violence. However, she does often come across as fairly official, and that is known to set people on edge. She is obviously experienced in the battlefield, but she is pretty terrible at close range melee. She tends to need a robot, vehicle, or her gun.
Also, she does have to deal with red tape at times. She is a representative of the Global Alliance and tries to always keep that in mind.
Personality
Yi-Min comes across as nobility to many. Her family is high ranking and she is a well-trained military brat. She's polite and well-spoken, but also very no nonsense. Rather observant. She much prefers peaceful negotiations to fights, but don't mistake that as an inability. She fairly dislikes close contact for whatever reason and is very much not a touchy-feely person.
She often seems to have a stick up her butt. She's overly serious. She does well in diplomatic situations and while she dislikes psychics it is more loyalty to the Global Alliance than a true dislike. She doesn't expressly approve of the Psycho-Slave program, but she knows it is necessary to accomplish the GA's goals. She views psychics as little more than tools, though.
She is frighteningly efficient at times and gets rather bored with nonsensical games and such. She is well aware that Kiyoshi loves her, but she does not reciprocate nor does she give any signs that she realizes it. She would not acknowledge to others that she knows he likes her, and her ability to sidestep relates to her ability to deftly manipulate any verbal situation.
History
Yi-Min Song was born to a fairly well to do family living in the Global Alliance (GA) controlled territories and loyal to them. She was raised with the teachings that psychics only wanted to bring others under slavery with their powers and their purpose was best served as living batteries to the Psycho-Slaves. Her class allowed her to be accepted into the Global Alliance military academies, which she excelled in quite well.
She showed particular promise with both investigative and mecha-piloting paths, and the current low in Psycho-Slave pilots meant thats where she was placed. She graduated at eighteen as a captain, and one of her first missions was to a disputed territory where psychics that actually fit the stereotype the GA had given them were controlling.
During the mission she found a boy obviously being controlled by the psychics. She helped free the boy from the control and killed the psychic with the most direct power over him. She learned the teenager was named Kiyoshi Hayasa, and used all of her influence to convince her superiors to allow him to train as an operative of the GA. He trained until he was seventeen.
Kiyoshi requested that he be allowed to be Yi-Min's bodyguard when he graduated his training at seventeen. He had not forgotten his debt to the woman. A trial period was granted, and a year later he was made a permanent "sidekick" to Yi-Min's missions. This was at the same time Yi-Min was put on the Psychic Apprehension Squad, or PAS. When Yoshi learned how Yi-Min's surname was romanized, he nicknamed her Utako, a feminine way of saying the English word "song" in Japanese.
The two were an amazing foil for each other and flew through the PAS ranks at an almost blinding speed. Kiyoshi was twenty-two when Yi-Min became in the top 1% of PAS, and as high ranking as any PAS member could be. Over the time the pair ascended in the ranks, Yoshi developed strong feelings for Yi-Min.
So when a compound for the Psycho-Slave batteries (read as prison camp) was "attacked" by LoA representatives and the slaves scattered, Yi-Min and Kiyoshi were not sent to clean up the normal mess. A single slave (#136, Shinen Makoto) had escaped and the highest ranking members of the GA realized he had fled to another world by somehow activating a Gate. Yi-Min and Kiyoshi were sent after him... and have arrived on Dimension Island in hot pursuit.
