Winding the Day Down (All Welcome!)

Atem discarded of the sandwich wrapper and water bottle in the trashcan outside the hotel. He had stopped by a convenience store on the way there. He and his partner hadn't eaten for about the same amount of time they hadn't slept, so it had been a necessity. The money Michael had given them was more than enough. It was a little uncomfortable carrying that much around, especially for his partner. Even though Atem had spent his previous incarnation surrounded by gold, it had been a different world then.

Atem walked up to the hotel desk and payed for another night. They had to look for an apartment soon. Yuugi wasn't in the mood to argue, he might as well have been asleep on his metaphysical feet. Atem was glad he had surfaced to allow his partner time to rest without truly resting. It would be a bit uncomfortable, but it seemed saner to sleep with the puzzle on tonight. Besides, with the way the hotel worked, it was probably safer.

After his trip through the mall, Coop went back to Megas and began driving around. The more he thought about it, the more this seemed like a vacation. Here he didn't have to worry about Kiva nagging at him or the Glorft trying to kill him and steal his robot. Though things would be better if Jamie was here to enjoy this.

Eventually, he came to the hotel. He didn't really hear much about it, but a vacation wasn't complete without a visit to a hotel. After parking Megas in the nearby parking lot (with the robot's feet taking up two whole spaces), Coop went inside to check in. Walking in with an extra-large Megaslush in his hand, he gave the clerk the money for a room and was given a key in return.

Sipping some more of his frozen beverage, he was walking off when he saw Atem, or rather his hair.

"Wicked awesome hair, man." Coop commented. "How much jel did ya use on it."

Atem stopped and turned to the visitor. He nor his partner had been asked that often about his hair.

"It's natural," he replied.

It was actually refreshing to see a person that friendly on the island. Most people he and his partner had met had been aloof. Atem happened to catch the number on Coop's key, "Looks like we're on the same floor. Although with this hotel there's no guarantee we'll stay there all night."

After deciding that it hadn't been worth it to just hang around Void City all night, K1 had decided to head back to the hotel, only to be astonished by the giant robot sitting in the parking lot. And when I say astonished, I mean:

"SWEET HOLY JESUS CHRIST!" K1 yelled when he ran right into the giant robot. "WHERE THE HELL DID THIS COME FROM?!"

Finally, after staring at the giant robot in surprise for a bit longer, he gathered himself and headed inside the hotel, where he found Yuugi (or so he thought) and what he assumed to be the owner of the robot.

"Huh? What're you talkin' about?" Coop asked. Nothing looked off to him when he came to the hotel. Heck, there were hotels back home that looked a whole lot worse than this place.

Atem was a bit confused as well. He heard heard something like shouting from the parking lot. When Coop had turned, he saw K1 still recovering from a bit of shock. But it really wasn't the time for chatting.

"It's been a while since I've slept, so I'm headed off," Atem said as he turned. Unless something stopped him, he was headed to bed.

"Oh, uh, night, Yuugi," K1 said, still a bit flustered from what had happened earlier. He turned to Coop. "Uh, is that your giant robot?"

"Okay, see ya dude." Coop said to Yuugi. He still didn't get his answer as to what was in this hotel that made it so bad. Maybe he'd ask later. He turned to K1 after he asked him about the robot. "You saw it? Yeah, Megas can make some heads turn."

"'Megas...?' A-Anyways, um, your mech kinda stepped on a lot of cars on the way in..." K1 said. He still couldn't believe he had literally run into a giant mecha on the way in.

"Trust me. That's not the worst thing that could happen." Coop said. "Back home people are so used to stuff getting destroyed, insurance companies offer giant robot insurance."

[Firebreath Fishslap]

"Is that so..." K1 sighed. "That's kinda... ugh... never mind."
This was yet another situation for that crazy otaku girl he knew so well, and of course, she wasn't there. K1 wasn't really into anime, so he didn't find this as amusing as he should. Even if the Megas was an american mech (which he didn't know), this still seemed like a scene out of Gundam or something.

(OOC: In case you're wondering, don't wait for me. Unless you plan on having a character hotel warped to Yuugi's room. He's already asleep if you do, holding the puzzle like some kind of stuffed animal. XD)

"So whatcha got goin' for you here?" Coop asked, sipping his Megaslush again. "You find anything cool around here?"

"Eh... no, not really. I just got here yesterday," K1 said. He didn't really feel comfortable talking to this american with a mecha, but he had a feeling it would be better to just keep talking. "By the way, watch your step around here. This hotel is... weird."

"Weird?" Coop asked. "What's weird about this place? I tried to ask the guy with the super spiky hair about it but I don't think it came out right."
