Shuffling his feet down the hallway with Trevor as his escort, Double D's gaze was a million miles away. His tears had dried, his face almost emotionless.
(PS: I know we haven't reached that part of the conversation yet in God's Conception 2, but later on, Double D will ask everyone to make sure they consistently remind him not to lose his humanity, ie his capacity for emotion.)

"He did it because he loved you," Trevor said. "We told him we couldn't bear it, but at least his heart was in the right place. He cares for you, Double D. It probably tears him apart inside as well and he'll come crawling back and beg us to forgive him... if that doesn't happen, we can always go look for him..." Then he looked at Double D and nodded. "Here's a little secret... I see Felix out in the park a lot. He seems to like to collect his thoughts there. If you want to go see him... he might be there."
(A bit of a make-up or would you like to drag the drama out for a little while longer? =p)

Recognizing what Trevor was doing, Double D forced a small smile. "...thank you, Trevor. I appreciate the information. But right now... I'd rather let him be, let him collect his thoughts on his own, and go off to find him when the baby is born. I still have an obligation to protect Perceval and Masahiro in their vulnerable circumstance, and I shouldn't let personal issues keep me from honoring that..."
(okay, alright, half in half, I'll figure this out, let's keep this going...)

"You're a good angel," Trevor said. "Remember... he'll be apt to come back soon... even if I have to make him come back and beg on his knees for forgiveness." This last sentence was said a little out of humor because, knowing Trevor, he'd really do it out of the care he had for his friends.
(Ok... And I'm looking forward to what you'll be making with flash if you make it =p)

Double D forced out a chuckle, clutching the doorknob and entering his apartment. "...thank you, Trevor.... Good night."
He quietly stepped through the apartment, looking over each of his sleeping companions. Suddenly, he heard soft whimpering, and instantly straightened up. If Marion had been crying while he was away, the spell would've prevented anyone from hearing her.
"Oh... Marion...!" Double D hurried in, quickly bringing his whimpering child into his arms. "Shh, it's alright... Daddy's here, shhh..."
"D-Daddy..." Marion sniffled, clutching his shirt. "W...where's... M-Mommy...?"
Double D flinched, holding her only closer and not responding to her plea.

(Felix won't ditch Marion. He'll just come get her when she's alone =p)
Trevor heard the whimpering and chose not to leave yet. He walked in slowly and heard Marion cry for Felix. Looking down, he then decided to leave and shut the door. "... ... ... Even if I have to drag him face first through the mud," Trevor reminded himself and then walked back to the Skylark Apartment.

(LE GASP! Felix will take her away? My god, poor Double D XDDD)
"...Mommy will come back soon," Double D eventually whispered, caressing Marion gently as he joined her on the bed. "...don't you worry."
His words belied his own worries, and it was some time before he fell asleep.

(*shakes head* Sorry, but there's enough emoness as is. No, I mean Felix won't dissapear from Marion's life; he'll take her on trips and stuff and then return her to Double D. He'll continue to be a good mommy; he just won't be around a lot. If she asks, he'll say that mommy and daddy need some time apart so that they can change themselves so that they'll better when they come back together. And this seems like a good ending point for now, so...)

(Double D could always take Marion to the park and leave her there so that Felix can pick her up =P)
