Full Name: “Poniko”
Nicknames: Uboa, Lightswitch Girl, Poniko, That Girl
Age: Around the same as Madotsuki
Height: Around the same as Madotsuki
Weight: Around the same as Madotsuki
Gender: Around the same as Madotsuki (technically genderless)
Race: Second Level Nightmaren (possibly…)
Alliance: Evil (?)
Home: About the same as Madotsuki (i.e: Madotsuki’s dream world, in a house on an island on the Pastel Shore Lake)
Franchise: Yume Nikki
Physical Description: In her human form, Poniko looks like a blond-haired female human. Her hair is typically kept up in a ponytail. There is no way to describe her physical form in matters of height, weight, age, or anything like that. It’s impossible to tell how old she is, or how much she weighs, or anything like that. Especially the age part, though the best estimate is somewhere in her teens. As far as clothing goes, she always wears a green sweater, a brown skirt, and red shoes.
In her Uboa form, which is the most infamous and nightmare inducing form supposedly, “she’s” a shapeless black blob of sorts with a white face. And while this isn’t part of the physical description, it constantly makes a distorted “aaaaaaaaaaah” sound. It’s said to be very creepy. Thankfully, it hopefully can only exist within the world of dreams.
She has another form besides this one, one that’s said to be more of a “true” form and a fusion of the Uboa and Poniko forms. The appearance of this form varies, but it tends to look like Poniko with various aspects of Uboa. The level of Uboa involved varies, but in her “truest” form, it’s something like a disgusting and terrifying combo of the two.
Weapons: Poniko doesn’t wield any weapons, instead preferring to use her abilities as Uboa.
Abilities/Powers: Poniko most notable power is the ability to instantly shift between her Poniko and Uboa forms. Inside the dream world, it’s triggered by a light switch. But she doesn’t just need the light switch to change forms. She can do it willingly.
Her Uboa form is the one that most of her abilities are available in. His main one is the ability to throw someone into another sort of dream world if they touch her. This other dream world is more of a nightmare, filled with a sea of blood and a monster vomiting said blood. This ability only works like this within the Night Dimension because of the nature of this ability, though if Uboa were to somehow make it into the real world, it would cause the person who touches him to experience a hallucination similar to that.
This does not mean that Uboa’s only powers are related to hallucinations or sending people into nightmarish dream worlds. Uboa can actually change its form somewhat, and in truth, a lot of the more nightmarish parts of Madotsuki’s dream world are Uboa taking another form in order to traumatize Madotsuki further and drive her deeper into a nightmare.
Skills: n/a
Personality: The Poniko personality is a silent depressed girl. This is only a front that she puts up until it begins terrorizing Madotsuki. The original Poniko was a cheerful, normal girl. This one seems too quiet, almost too much like Madotsuki herself. But she is somewhat friendly.
The true personality is that of a demon that enjoys terrorizing and driving Madotsuki further into terror. It enjoys her fear, and goes out of its way to hurt her. It’s also disturbing as heck and the way it speaks is meant to disturb people. It does not take losing too well, either, and probably is at its freakiest when it’s freaking out itself. Let’s put it this way. You will be seeing Poniko in your nightmares.
History: Once upon a time, there was a girl named Madotsuki, which probably wasn’t her real name, and she had a friend named Poniko. One day, the two of them were riding their bikes home in the dark and Poniko was teasing Madotsuki. And then Madotsuki accidentally pushed Poniko into traffic, and Madotsuki lost her friend. Sometime after this, Madotsuki fell into a depression, believing that she was responsible for her friend’s death. Eventually Madotsuki just stopped leaving her room and fell into only finding enjoyment in dreams. Except these weren’t dreams. These were full-fledged nightmares that Madotsuki, who eventually learned the art of lucid dreaming, began to explore.
Deep within the nightmare, there was a lake, and on that lake was an island. On that island was a house, and inside that house was a room much like Madotsuki’s. And inside the room was the virtual replica of Poniko. She didn’t speak, but she acted much like Poniko. But Madotsuki freaked and turned out the lights. Nothing seemed to happen, so Madotsuki tried becoming friends with this dream image of Poniko. And then one day Madotsuki turned out the lights on her way out of the house. And then Uboa appeared where Poniko had been, and began to relentlessly terrorize Madotsuki in her nightmares. Even after Madotsuki had befriended the various other denizens of her dream world, like Monoko and Seccom Masada, she always avoided Poniko after that. She knew what lurked behind that face. And what lurked behind that smile continued to terrorize her as the days went on.
The creature known as Uboa was in truth, a denizen of Nightmare, known best as a Nightmaren, created by Wizeman and was fueled by Madotsuki’s subconcious. This creature stole Madotsuki’s Ideya, and was a major factor in what would have eventually lead to Madotsuki’s suicide had she not had a few interactions with the world of the Dimensional Island and later met up with NiGHTS.
Other: Her favorite song is “ah not tan neet are not tan neet centimeter”
