Seth had watched K1 get nervous as he talked. But he pushed the words out. After that he kept his eyes on his twin, watching him get more uncomfortable. He wasn't saying anything. He considered pushing as K1 pulled his legs close. He tried to look him in the eyes, but his brother averted his gaze to avoid their eyes locking. He was only like this because of the moon phase. He stopped trying to catch his brother's eyes and hung his head.
There were issues here. K1 had said he thought he was losing his mind. He couldn't claim to fully understand. Was it something like when he regained his memories? No, it couldn't be. The Seth of then had been human. He had almost lost it, but accepting that he was both Seth and Keiji was different. Both of them were human. He couldn't comfort K1 like this. The biggest issue was that K1 really might lose his mind if he couldn't accept Abel. That he was a demon with human emotions.
Seth jerked his head up as K1 began speaking again. But? Seth looked saddened as K1 shook his head again. He continued, the words showing he couldn't find the words to say what he was thinking. Accepting it would be giving something important up? Maybe. Maybe K1 thought that acdepting it would be giving up his humanity. Seth couldn't argue that, he had a feeling he'd be feeling the same way. What made a person human, anyhow?
He opened his mouth to argue, but closed it. He opened his mouth again after a few moments of thought, "...If you can't sleep, I'm sure Atsuro would like to see you. He... we were worried."
Seth thought about suggesting K1 check on Cain. He gave a slight shake of his head as he stood up as well. No, Cain would just raise more guilt. Or worse, incite Abel's wrath in regards to Cain's place. If Cain was even awake, and that could incite K1's guilt still... or Abel's annoyance. He walked over to his bed and sat down. He pulled off his boots, taking care with the dagger and placing it on the bedstand next to him.
"...I'm glad you're alright, Keiichi."

K1 looked away from Seth so that he couldn't see his expression at those last words. His tone sounded relieved, but if Seth saw his expression, it would reveal that he was anything but.
"Yeah... I'm gonna go step out for some air. I'll be back in a few minutes, okay? You just get some sleep. It's been a long day," K1 said. He didn't wait for a response from Seth before walking out of the hotel room. He was vaguely aware of the fact that he'd left the room with no shoes on, but it wasn't like he was going far. He'd said he was going to get some air, but he changed his mind on the way out the door.
He stopped just outside Cain's door, and looked at it for a moment before walking past it and stopping outside of Kaido and Atsuro's room. After a short moment, Abel knocked on the door. He knew that one of them had to be awake.

Seth didn't even see K1 turn around. He looked up as his brother responded, noticing he'd turned away and lowering his head again. He shouldn't have said that. He nodded when K1 told him to get some sleep, but he didn't move from the position he was sitting in until K1 walked out the door. No shoes. Seth unhooked his cape and let it drop on the floor before laying down on the bed. He didn't close his eyes. He wanted to be there if Abel decided to take another walk.
----------
Kaido had actually been asleep. He'd eyed Atsuro for a while before finding himself dozing off. His hands were laced behind his head, between it and the pillow. When he heard the knock he opened his eyes, giving the illusion that he hadn't been asleep at all. He'd always been a fairly light sleeper, but the skill had improved in the past few months. He glanced over to where he'd seen Atsuro last. The fact that it was knocking indicated Atsuro had been right about the King's condition, so Kaido had no intention of opening the door unless Atsuro delayed it.

Atsuro had been debating emailing Yuugi again for the past few hours. He hadn't really been doing much. Like Seth, he'd found himself zoning out for a few hours until being shaken back awake by the knocking on the door. Knocking. Did that mean...? He jumped to his feet and opened the door.
Standing on the other side was very definitely K1. His eyes were mostly flat, but it was K1. K1 looked depressed for some reason. Atsuro could guess why. K1 had killed that old lady Himitsu. He'd broken his best friend's arm. Drained all of Cain's magatsuhi. Probably attacked other people while he'd been gone, too. Abel didn't care, but it was obvious K1 did.
"Hey, K1. How are you feeling?" Atsuro asked. K1 gave a pained smile.
"Like shit. Hey, can we... talk?" K1 asked. This was odd. It was usually Atsuro who initiated these kind of conversations. Atsuro always had during the lockdown.
"In here?" Atsuro asked. K1 nodded, and Atsuro lead the way into the hotel room. Atsuro glanced toward Kaido for a moment before sitting down on the bed. K1 sat down next to him, and put his hands in his lap.
"...A lot of what I'm gonna tell you, I already told Keiji," K1 said. "...I think I'm losing my mind. Maybe just my humanity. Either way, it sucks. I think it's caused by that magatsuhi stuff... You know about magatsuhi?"
Atsuro nodded. "Nirad told us about it."
"Keiji said he's going to get Nirad to help me out with things now. But, I don't know... that thing did something worse than just give me some kind of weird rush... Made me want to attack people, to kill them... I did kill someone. Only drained the magatsuhi from the other guy, though. I'm pretty sure it was Bakura," K1 said. Atsuro's eyes went wide. "I'm pretty sure it affected me like that because... I'm a..." K1 closed his eyes. This was the one thing he didn't want to talk about. "...demon. I'm a demon. It's a perfectly normal thing for demons..."
"K1, you don't have to talk about this if you don't want to," Atsuro said. K1 shook his head.
"I don't want to tell Keiji these things anymore. And... I'm worried. You're my friend, Atsuro, you deserve to know," K1 stated. "...Don't tell Keiji what I'm about to tell you. I don't want to worry him any more than I already did tonight."
Atsuro sat silently and waited for K1 to start talking again.
"I haven't been sleeping well. Not for a while," K1 said. "Ever since the day I took the throne, I haven't had any dreams. Not a single one. I don't even really need sleep. When I do sleep, it's not restful, it doesn't make me feel any better." He looked down at the floor. "I don't even feel tired right now. I could stay up all night if I wanted to. But I just feel like it's just another thing eroding away what makes me human. Made me human. I don't know."
Atsuro looked toward K1. He was tempted to tell him to go get some sleep, but he couldn't say that right after K1 had just told him he couldn't sleep anymore.
Abel. Dammit, it was Abel and Cain's faults this was happening. K1 just happened the unlucky person caught in the middle.
"K1... come on, don't be so depressed like this, it's not like you," Atsuro said. He put an arm around K1's shoulder. "At least go and try and get some sleep. If you can't sleep, watch some TV or something! Don't just sit around all night."
K1 smiled. "...The TV here all sucks. But thanks." He stood up and turned to leave before looking back toward Atsuro. "Hey... sorry about breaking your arm earlier."
Atsuro's smile became more pained. "It's okay. Just go on back to your room. I've gotta sleep even if you can't."
K1 nodded and closed the door behind him. Even though that conversation had been rather depressing... he actually felt better. Atsuro had proven himself to be his only real friend after he'd decided to go with Naoya. He didn't know what he'd do if Atsuro left him like Yuzu and Midori had.
He didn't hesitate in front of Seth's door this time, and instead pulled it open and stepped inside, heading for his own bed again.

Kaido said nothing during the conversation. He'd closed his eyes again when Atsuro went to answer the door. He seemed asleep, in truth. He wasn't, though. He was listening to the full conversation. Not to eavesdrop as much to just keep tabs on the situation. Abel.... Keiichi, whatever.... hadn't considered himself a demon? Well, at least he'd finally gotten that wake-up call. The conversation ended with the King in some kind of emo mode. Hey, it wasn't Kaido's fault the guy wasn't living well with his decision. When he heard the door close, he was quick to fall asleep for real... if only in that light manner he used these days.
----------
Seth twitched as he heard the door open. His eyes were closed though. That hadn't taken very long. The steps to the bed were heavy, but they weren't the sound of stomping. Dragged feet, and the door had closed lightly. If it was Abel he either wouldn't have made his presence known or made it impossible to miss. Seth rolled over, trying to make it seem like he was doing it in his sleep despite being on top of a mostly made bed. It was to conceal his face from where he thought K1 was by the noise he was making. He didn't need to worry his brother anymore than he already had.
Atsuro had probably helped. He doubted he was any kind of help when K1 was like... well, was K1. Who could blame him? Atsuro had known him for years. He was newer to the picture. He wasn't sure what misguided connection made him the one that tethered Abel's humanity. Atsuro would have made more sense. Seth stayed still, but he had a feeling it would be a good hour before he fell asleep. Probably have a nightmare, they weren't uncommon since the incident with Belphegor. Abel had yet to say anything or show any concern about it. At least his nightmares were of the quiet sort... K1 probably had worse ones, after all.
Damn you, YHVH... Why couldn't you have just left us the hell alone...?

K1 sat down on top of his own bed, and looked over at his brother on the other bed for a moment before looking back toward the wall. He unclipped his own cape and tossed it over to the chair where it had been lying that morning. It managed to land rather roughly in the seat of the chair. K1 then pulled his legs up close to him, and sat staring at the space on the wall.
He couldn't sleep. It was like the moment he'd admitted that fact to Atsuro, he'd lost the capacity to even sleep as a benefit to his human side. He eventually tried laying down, even pressing his face into his pillow like he usually did, but he never did fall asleep.
So eventually he sat back up again. If Seth asked, he could always say he was waiting out the Dark Hour, that stupid dangerous time between days. K1 was sure he could defend himself if any Shadows came after them now, but Seth? Not so much. Cain could go ahead and be eaten by the whole lot of them for all Abel cared at the moment, though.
