(OOC: Rei no Kaado = Invite Only. Rei no Kaado = No explanation needed, check out the early threads in the History board - This'll mark the last time even an OOC comment gets made about it from me unless a significant change requires another)
The aquisition of the rooms had been a small adventure all its own. The same way calling someone special could be a compliment. Cain had quite a bit of yen on him still, although he hadn't so much as looked at the bills more than a few times in the last three and a half months.
The problem was that money had fallen into useless in the Human Realm of the court of Bel's home dimension. What was wanted was either given or taken by force. Macca still carried some good weight in the Demon Realm, but the bloodstained currency was not one Cain was confident would be accepted. That and humans tended to get nervous being handed money with blood on it.
It wasn't the money that had presented the problem, either. It was the rooms. Abel had been right about the hotel being well booked. There were plenty of rooms, but finding a group together had taken several looks and a few threats to manage. Three was as high as they could get. Then Kaido decided to gripe about them. Two had queen sized beds, one had a single.
Cain had given one of the queen sized rooms to Abel and Seth before anyone could object. Seth had seemed grateful. There was a bit of friction in regards to the remaining two rooms, and it came down to logic and rank. Cain had no illusions about Atsuro wanting to share a room with either him or Kaido. Kaido got annoyed at the prospect of sharing a room with Cain. The General of Bel made a point that technically there was a sixth memeber of their group. Most of the group accepted that. Kaido got rank pulled on him when he didn't.
Kaido had taken a chair rather than staying in the same bed as another guy. Seth had wanted to stay in the bed with or at least give it to Abel, but the final decision had been up to the King. Cain hadn't had such issues. He'd set up some simple wards on all three rooms.
The wards wouldn't stop a demon from entering, but it would wake up anyone in the room if one did. His ability to do so had been shown once before, after all, although those had been the kind to keep demons out. Amane should have been grateful Abel had felt like sparing her life that day. The chaos was how the day had ended.
------
Nyarlathotep had arrived at the Hotel the next morning, just as the late November sun was rising. He'd been tossed around a few times by the odd nature of the building, but being a demon he was able to find where the King was sleeping well enough. He smirked as he realized the wards Cain had set up. The demon paused in front of the door with the most demonic energy coming out and thought. Finally he knocked.
"Your majesty."
Cain paused at the bathroom door of his room, a white towel wrapped around his midsection. He'd taken the chance for a real shower with water that didn't have to be obtained by pulling fifty strings. Water wasn't exactly the most common liquid in the Demon Realm, and the group had probably been lucky Cain had the memories of lives where you had to truck water in and heat it up.
He'd heard the knock, although it was faint. He shrugged, figuring Abel would handle it andwent about finishing up. Other things that had been fun. Teaching how to shave with a glorified blade. It wasn't that their nationality tended to run around growing beards quickly, but a few months was enough to scragg anyone up. Even something as simple as a disposable razor had become a valued commodity in the human realm in the past few months. Cain smirked to himself in the mirror. It was gonna be a bitch getting used to things again when they went back.
Kaido had opened one eye when Nyarlathotep knocked. He wasn't sure who it was, so he'd gotten to his feet. He made a note of Atsuro's location, and his COMP was flipped open. He manage to rip it out of the charger that had been plugged into the wall. That set him a bit off, and he muttered something vulgar to himself under his breath. Another one of Cain's suggestions. Don't use the hand chargers unless they had to. Kaido kept his ears open for anything that sounded like trouble.
(OOC: I didn't specify for Seth because where he is depends on Abel's decision. Go ahead and have him royally zonked out, maybe even Abel would have something to think/say abou that. Abel would probably suspect the reason for it, Seth is actually solidly relaxed for the first time in like three months cause he feels like he can sleep without getting attacked. I couldn't have Kaido react much to Atsuro because you have him, not me. XD I figure Atsuro would probably be in the shower too, though.
As for the razor comment, I'm pretty sure the Japanese are not known for beards. Cain grows a touch faster than is usual, he could probably actually have one if he wanted it give ~six months. Kaido is about average. Seth would be whatever Abel is, but I'm picturing Seth as being all but immune to the phenomenon, making Cain's issue hereditary on his mother's side. And no clue on Atsuro.)

Atsuro was in the shower at the time Nyarlathotep knocked at the door. A shower. He couldn't remember the last time he'd had a real shower. The ones at the castle hadn't even been properly heated. Man, he missed real showers.
He was cleaning up for one other reason, though. He was still going to go see Yuugi, and he'd rather be somewhat clean when he saw him again. Probably needed a shave, too. He hadn't really gotten a good look at himself in mirror, but he knew that he hadn't done too well with those blades that Cain had taught them how to use.
Not only that, but while he was out at the mall, he needed to get some real clothes. All he had other than the clothes he had worn there were suits, and Atsuro was of the honest opinion that he did not look good in a suit like, say, Seth did.
-----------------
Abel had been awake for some time, but Seth was still passed out in bed. Abel didn't blame him. This was the first time Seth had really had a chance to sleep well. Even if all Seth had were bad memories of this place, it was at least fairly safe. Even with the Fall lingering over their heads.
Abel on the other hand, he hadn't been able to sleep as well as he was sure Seth was. For three months now, his nights had been dreamless. It didn't bother him too much, after all, the only dreams he'd had between the beginning and the end of the Lockdown were nightmares. He didn't miss his old nightmares about getting killed by demons, or seeing his friends get killed by other demon tamers. But he supposed it had a lot to do with why he always woke up so early now.
Abel stood up off of the bed when he heard Nyarlathotep knock at the door. He looked toward the chair he had draped his cape over before walking toward the door. He slowly opened it and looked toward the faceless demon.
"Good morning, Nyarlathotep," Abel stated.

Nyarlathotep noted the presence of the Prince on the bed. The demon couldn't recall ever seeing Seth out that well. He would have smirked at the bit of drool gathering on the pillow with the teen's face buried in it had Abel not been right in front of him. He didn't make a motion to go into the apartment, but he refocused on the King quickly.
"I kept my eye on the group until the Dark Hour. There are some things you may find interesting. The walls out here, however, likely have ears. Am I going to be allowed in?"
----------
Kaido walked over to the bathroom. The door was closed, but he could hear running water. Now that he thought about it, that was a great idea. He hammered on the door a few times.
"Don't hog all the hot water!" he demanded.

Abel nodded and stepped to the side to let Nyarlathotep in. The Dark Hour. Damn, he hated that time. Always had once he found out about it, but he hated it even more now that he'd been a victim of it before.
Once Nyarlathotep was inside, Abel closed the door behind him.
"What did you find out?" Abel asked.
------------------
Atsuro looked up as he heard Kaido hammering on the door. Dammit, he'd just started relaxing too. Hot water was nice.
"I won't!" Atsuro called back.

"The facts as I can infer them are this," Nyarlathotep went straight to the point, "Souji is an avatar of the god Izanagi. At best their relationship is tense, at worst Souji may fade away in two years' time. Ryoji is wrestling with his purpose in regards to Death and Nyx, although it is only what I could piece together. There is a cop named Adachi who is capable of summoning a Persona who is rooming with a boy named Bakura Ryou."
"Ryou, or Bakura as all but Adachi calls him, seems to be from Yuugi's homeworld. He has an item of a very similar power to the pendant Yuugi carries around. It seems to house a presence named Anpu, who has caused the death of at least one child via poisoning. Of interest to you may be that Anpu is the Egyptian name for Anubis the way Atem is an alternate pronunciation of the god Atum."
Nyarlathotep smirked, "Atem tried to advance his relationship with Yuugi last night. To be specific, the former Pharaoh kissed him, and I personally believe it would have gone far further had Yuugi allowed it. I say that because he pushed Atem away in shock and left the room. Also, I'm pretty sure Yuugi was holding a conversation with one of your court via the COMPs at the same time.
Nyarlathotep had not yet clarified the reason he had been sent to watch. Namely, if Souji needed to be watched out for. He paused to let Abel catch up with what he had said. Atem had kissed Yuugi and possibly had other plans. The demon looked forward to the reaction to that. Of course, even if Abel didn't react to that it was possible he'd still react to the last line. The King of Bel tended not to take actions done without his consent well, and the conversation he'd over heard the two teenager having about the messages implied Abel had not been aware of the exchange.
----------
Kaido made a 'tch' noise and sat down on the bed. He'd be demanding it tonight. For all the power Abel was supposed to have, things were damn inconvenient for the human members of their party. Not for Cain, but the man claimed to have memories of his past lives. So he was more or lessed used to living an annoying primitive lifestyle. If the world didn't pick up after the war, he was going to be pissed.

Abel listened silently to the demon as he gave his report. Abel had been Japanese, and while he hadn't been all that into the religion, he knew about the tale of Izanagi. So Izanagi hadn't just been Souji's Persona, Souji was an avatar of the god himself. That could be problematic. Abel hadn't had to deal with the avatars of various gods too much due to how inhospitable the demon realm was to humans, but he knew a bit about them. But it still didn't explain why Souji was a Shadow, of all things.
Ryoji's problems with his purpose weren't too much of a bother to Abel, unless they altered the time of the Fall, especially if they eliminated it all together. At least they'd know when the Fall was coming thanks to the COMPs. Abel knew Adachi, and while he didn't know the boy known as Bakura, the fact that this Bakura was rooming with Adachi was a bit of problem. Adachi had always been dangerous, so Bakura likely was as well.
That frame of thought was confirmed as Nyarlathotep continued on. So this Bakura had a similar case to what Yuugi had before he and Atem had split.
Isn't this Bakura rooming with Adachi? Why isn't this thing that Anpu lives in in the TV World yet, then? Abel asked himself. Okay, that was something worth looking into. But since Nyarlathotep hadn't finished yet, Abel didn't cut in.
And then the news about Atem and Yuugi came up. Abel's eyes widened, which was a bit more emotion than he was typically capable of. And considering that K1 was a bit more active at the moment due to the waning moon, he had a reaction more typical of K1 than Abel.
"They what?!" Abel asked. "Would have gone further," Nyarlathotep had said. Damn, that was insane. And Yuugi hadn't liked what had happened. Abel really wasn't sure what to make of that.
Of course, next came the news that they'd been talking to one of his court, and Abel's eyes narrowed. He knew exactly who they must of been talking to. Atsuro had requested that he have some time off today to go do personal stuff. And Atsuro had been being rather chummy toward Yuugi. Plus there had been that small comment Atsuro had mumbled toward Yuugi earlier while they were walking toward the apartments. Abel had not missed that; he had just chosen to not mention it at the time.
"...Is there anything else? Preferrably regarding the person I sent you to watch in the first place?" Abel asked.

Nyarlathotep allowed himself to smirk as K1 freaked a bit over the revelation of the incident between Atem and Yuugi. It was pretty clearly the human side that was reacting, after all. The demon took a more guarded expression as Abel's eyes narrowed. The King's tone got flatter, and Nyarlathotep waited precious seconds before responding. He nodded.
"You may have to worry about Souji after all. He learned about the deceased child as a result of a bumble made by Adachi. He then proceeded to explode on Adachi. The man is lucky all he earned from the incident was a bruised chest, possibly a cracked rib. Souji may have killed the man, but I believe Izanagi somehow intervened. I think Souji may be gunning for Adachi, he did say to himself he planned on wringing Adachi's neck, and he was very hostile towards Bakura. Almost attacked him despite knowing he is not the individual responsible for the death of the girl."
"I believe Souji could be made to snap if the need arose. As for his status as a Shadow, I can't claim to know the full story behind that. It is likely connected to how strongly he is coexisting with Izanagi."
Seth had come to the mode of almost awake but still asleep when Abel had freaked over the comments about Atem and Yuugi. He was fully awake as Abel asked his question. The tone was flatter than Seth would have liked, and it indicated Abel was functioning as the King of Bel at the moment. He rolled over and sat up. It would be impossible to convince the King of Bel he was still asleep.
He looked worried as he saw Abel and Nyarlathotep talking, and he winced at Nyarlathotep's words. He was more worried about Souji than he was before, but he didn't say anything. Even in the waning moon, it was better to stay out of affairs such as this unless only his intervention would save a life or his opinion was asked for.
----------
Cain had been in the middle of dressing when he heard Abel shout. The man berated himself for tensing up over what was a shout of surprise. He would be finished dressing in a few moments. He had taken a towel to himself, but he hadn't spent much time on drying. Abel was up and about, Cain had no intentions of staying still for long in a situation such as that. The walls here were fairly thick, so he knew neither Atsuro nor Kaido would have heard it.
----------
Atsuro was still in the bathroom. Kaido cold still hear the water, too. He looked at his COMP for a moment and stood up. He tapped on the door again.
"Atsuro, it would be in your best interest to inform Abel about the conversation you had last night as soon as you see him. If you don't, I'll be forced to. It's your business if you want your ass in a sling, but I'm not getting mine in one by not mentioning it."
Kaido had seemed asleep when Atsuro was having his conversation with Yuugi. He knew at one point Atsuro had taken longer to send a response than was normal for the teen's ability with a computer device. That was when Kaido had almost fallen asleep for real and jerked himself awake. He had recovered to make it seem like a start in a dream, but he knew Atsuro had been worried abou that. The fact that the teen still seemed to think Kaido had missed the entire conversation annoyed him. Atsuro knew him better than that, or should after three months.
In any case, it would come as a start to Atsuro that Kaido knew about it. About the only thing Kaido wasn't sure about was who he'd been texting with, and he could guess. Who else had they met who owned a COMP?

Abel looked toward Seth for a moment as his brother sat up. He had expected Seth to wake up soon, and that shout he'd given probably hadn't helped things. He refocused on Nyarlathotep as the demon continued. Souji had practically exploded on Adachi, and had been hostile toward Bakura too. They'd always known Souji had some anger issues. But with how he'd exploded on those two, Abel was much more worried about him. And of course, there was Izanagi to worry about there, too. Izanagi had stopped Souji from killing Adachi, which meant that Izanagi was much more involved with his avatar than most gods were.
"I want you to head back to the apartments. Continue keeping an eye on Souji, but I also want you to track Yuugi and Atem should they go out today," Abel ordered. "Now, if you excuse me, I have to go talk to Atsuro..."
Without waiting for Nyarlathotep to move, Abel walked around the demon and headed out the door toward Atsuro's room.
-----------------------
The water to the shower had actually turned off as Kaido knocked on the door. Showers were nice, but not when they were starting to get cold. Which meant that Kaido was probably going to be pissed when he got in.
He had started towelling off as Kaido spoke. Atsuro froze for a moment. Oh shit, he knew about that? He'd been so sure that Kaido had been asleep, too. Practically everyone else had been at that point. Or as far as Atsuro knew. After a moment, Atsuro finally spoke.
"...Yeah, okay," Atsuro said. Damn, that sucked.
Of course, at that moment, there was a light knocking at the door to their room. "Excuse me, I need to talk to Atsuro."

Nyarlathotep had been about to say something else when Abel moved past him. He frowned as the door shut. It wasn't a slam, but there was a bit of force behind it. He supposed he should have expected it after some of what he had said. Now he was stuck with not being able to be in two places at once. He couldn't keep an eye on Souji if the former Pharaoh and Yuugi left the complex. He shrugged to himself, but turned when he heard Seth actually get up.
The Prince had slept in his clothes. He didn't bother getting the cloak back on, and he was in sock feet. Nyarlathotep flapped back as Seth stumbled to the door and stuck his head out, glancing towards Atsuro's apartment. He wanted to make sure he knew where Abel was. Nylarlathotep had to tap his shoulder. The Prince looked back and moved to the side, opening the door more. The demon flew past.
"Tell his majesty I'm going back to the Apartments as instructed, your highness," Nyarlathotep said, only keeping up the titles due to Abel's proximity.
----------
Kaido had heard the footsteps come up to the door. For the second time that morning his COMP had raised in anticipation. It wasn't a jerk this time, more of a sign the Enforcer was prepared. The voice he heard as the knock came made Kaido frown.
"You'll have your chance sooner than we thought," Kaido said. He walked over to the door and opened it, giving Abel plenty of room to walk in, "He just finished with a shower."
Kaido jerked his thumb towards the closed bathroom door. This could go south quickly, Kaido was more than aware of that. Problem was, Atsuro might not be the only one it went south on. It was not outside of Abel's scope of emotions for the King to bear down on him as well. For not either stopping Atsuro or at least informin him of the occurance as soon as he woke.
----------
Cain pulled his arms through the sleeves of the cloak. The chain was latched despite it not needing to be when he wore the outfit like this. He confirmed the location of his dagger and COMP before pushing open the door to the Apartment. He saw Seth's head sticking out of the door and Nyarlathotep's form headed down the stairs due to the direction the door shut. He closed it and turned towards Atsuro's door. It seemed a situation that would need some observing at this point.

Abel moved into the apartment and stood in front of the bathroom door. It opened soon enough, and Atsuro had obviously hastily clothed himself before stepping out. Atsuro was wearing the same outfit he had been the previous day, but on the other hand, he was clothed.
"So, you were talking with Yuugi," Abel stated. Atsuro looked to the side.
"Er, yeah..." Atsuro said. Damn, how had Abel found out about that? He would have thought Nyarlathotep had told him, but Abel had just told Nyarlathotep to watch Souji... Oh, wait, Nyarlathotep. The demon had probably been snooping around the rest of the place too.
"What did you talk about?" Abel asked. Atsuro didn't like Abel's tone of voice. It wasn't angry, but that wasn't making things much easier.
"...We decided we're going to meet up at the mall. Er, Yuugi said he just wanted me to come. He... er, needed my advice with picking out a new deck or something like that..."
"You don't need to lie to me, Atsuro. I'm not mad at you."
Atsuro blinked. "Wait, you're not? Then why did you come in here?!"
"I just don't like people doing things without telling me. I said I was going to give you some time by yourself today, anyways. Unless you're conspiring against me, I don't care where you're going," Abel said. "We came here to relax, don't forget."
Atsuro gave a sigh of relief. He had thought Abel was going to punish him for talking to Yuugi without his permission or something stupid like that. Abel's emotions had seemed rather volatile over the past day, so he'd been really worried about how Abel would react when he found out.
"...thanks, K-- er, Abel," Atsuro said. "Uh, is that all?"
Abel nodded, and then turned to Kaido for a moment before heading right back out the door. Atsuro turned to Kaido.
"That went well," Atsuro said incredulously.
----------------
Abel closed the door behind him, and looked toward Cain. It seemed his decision to confront Atsuro about his conversation with Yuugi had attracted a small bit of attention.
"Good morning," Abel said. He didn't react to Cain other than that, and he walked past him down to the room he was sharing with Seth, who was still looking out of the doorway when he arrived back at the room.
"Morning, Seth. Did you sleep well?" Abel asked.

Kaido had kept his expression flat as the conversation went on. He nodded when Abel regarded him before he left the room. The man turned towards Atsuro as he spoke and shrugged.
"Cain did say the shift from waxing to waning might set him off. I suppose he's restabilized. Point of interest, though. You suck at lying."
Considering Kaido didn't know jack about the "show" Yuugi came from, it just showed how accurate his statement was. He couldn't know that Yuugi asking for deck help was pretty crazy. He just knew that Atsuro's voice had changed, he had averted his gaze, and if it was possibly to literally trip over your own tongue he probably would have. When you considered Abel was at least mostly demon, he would have sensed Atsuro's pulse raise, too. So yeah, Atsuro pretty much blew that.
Kaido glanced towards the bathroom, "If you're headed out, lock the door on your way out."
----------
Cain said nothing. He'd heard the conversation. He hadn't heard what had happened after Abel ahd left, but Kaido had come upon the same thing he was thinking. Abel had adjusted to the sudden reversal of moon phase. There was more to it, Cain was sure. He wasn't near people that stressed him out. Yuugi because there was a high chance the teen was confusing the two sides' of Abel's pscyhe, and Souji because the he was dangerous. He might have said something in that regard had Seth not answered before he had a chance to.
Seth ventured a smile, and his vision was more in focus than usual, "Better than I have in months. Is everything alright, K1?"
The name Seth had used made things clear. He was convinced everything was alright, despite having asked. The Prince was remarkably skilled at telling when it was safe to use that name. If anything, he erred on the side of Abel.
"Is there anything I need to know?" Cain said, having taken the cue from the name Seth had used to all but interrupt.

"Hey, I was nervous," Atsuro said. He really had been. He really hadn't expected Abel to barge in like that, and it hadn't been entirely obvious at first that Abel's mood had stabilized. Though his choice of lie had sucked. The main character of the anime about card games asking him for deck help, riiiiight.
He noted Kaido's glance toward the bathroom, and nodded. After pulling his COMP off of the wall charger, he headed out the door, making sure to lock it behind him like Kaido had asked.
Of course, Kaido was going to get a nasty surprise when he stepped into that shower. Atsuro hadn't exactly kept his promise to not use up all the hot water.
---------------
Abel nodded to Seth as he asked if everything was alright. He was choosing not to mention the once-again dreamless night. He wasn't sure why that was bothering him so much now, but it wasn't too much of a problem for him. Again, he was still getting sleep, and it wasn't affecting his waking life, so he didn't care too much.
He turned toward Cain as he spoke. "Nyarlathotep reported in about everything he saw yesterday. Apparently Souji is the avatar of the god Izanagi, which still doesn't explain why he's a Shadow. Oh, and apparently Atem practically molested Yuugi last night." He grimaced a bit at that, which was an impressive show of emotion, even considering the moon was waning. "Yuugi and Atsuro are going out to the mall together today, also."
Just as he said that, Atsuro passed by the three of them. He waved to Seth before heading down the hall to the stairs.

Seth didn't look satisfied. Abel had already turned by the time the expression revealing that hit his face. He had a feeling there was something not being said. He'd leave it for now, maybe he could bring it up in a week or so. Cain raised an eyebrow at the revelation of Souji's position. It wasn't as large as a shock as it could have been. Abel had regarded Ryoji and Souji similarly, and Cain had been sure it was from more than their status as Shadows.
Of course, then came the line about Yuugi and Atem. Cain couldn't help but smirk at that. He was quite confident Abel was putting it out of proportion. It was known as the telephone phenomenon. Nyarlathotep had likely made a focus of it, the demon was known for that, and now Abel had exaggerated it further. His brother still didn't seem to be used to the idea of that kind of relationship, despite it being only the modern world that got up in arms about it. Cain nodded at the last few lines.
"Did you plan on going anywhere, today?"
----------
Kaido wasn't stupid. It was a good thing. He had the sense to check the water temperature before he even took his clothes off. He frowned and turned the water off. Half an hour, probably. He'd whack Atsuro upside the head a few times if he felt he could get away with it. He'd wanted to go out as well, although he hadn't informed Abel yet. Now he was stuck waiting for the water to warm up. With his luck he'd be the one watching the King and Seth. Least he didn't have to worry about Seth going anywhere without Abel there. That Prince made lovers look standoffish, he swore...

Abel shook his head at Cain's question. He really hadn't planned on going anywhere quite yet. He was still settling back into the Island. Now that he thought about it, he really never went anywhere during his previous time on the island. They had been so busy with Death Clocks and Personas and crazy dolls that could shoot lightning that, other than that ill-fated vacation they took to Giant's Lake, he'd spent little time anywhere other than the mall and the apartments themselves.
Abel turned toward Seth. "Unless you have some idea of a place to go. Sitting around the hotel all day doesn't really sound like my idea of 'fun.'"
Plus, considering what hotel this was... Abel hadn't exactly had fun experiences with this hotel. One of the first nights he'd spent in this hotel before had ended with him waking up in some living anime character/computer program's bed. And then promptly getting kicked out of the room. Violently. Who knew leeks were so painful?

Seth looked down. He couldn't think of anything, and he felt on the spot. The Island didn't hold good memories. He hadn't really been many places, just like his twin, but none of them were all that positive. A thought obviously crossed Cain's mind. However, if Abel would enjoy the unannounced visit was rather up in the air. It was a suggestion better ventured forth in the waxing moon. Seth wouldn't approve, but he'd go along with it if Abel wanted to.
"There's a certain shop we could pay an unannounced visit to," Cain let a smirk raise on one corner of his lip. Worst Abel could do was reprimand him for that, but the best was too good to pass up.
