Yep. THAT Claus.
Full Name: Claus Alexander Weastwood ([shrug] I dunno)
Nicknames: Masked Man, the Pigmask Commander (both while brainwashed)
Age: 13, though in a sense, he stopped aging as Claus at 10
Height: Short
Weight: Light
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alliance: Good (as Claus), Evil (as Masked Man)
Home: Tazmily Village (as Claus), New Pork City (as Masked Man)
Franchise: EarthBound/Mother series--specifically, Mother 3/EarthBound 2
Physical Description: Claus has red hair and green eyes. He traditionally wears a blue-and-yellow striped t-shirt, reddish-khaki shorts, and blue sneakers. As Masked Man, he wore a dark jacket, khaki work pants, a belt with the Pigmask emblem for a buckle, and gray boots. On his head was a large, gray helmet with a plate that covered the left eye; the right covered in the shadow of the helmet. His right forearm, which had been crushed by assault from a cyborg Drago (see History), was replaced by an energy cannon. He wore a jetpack with retractable bat-like wings.
Weapons: Masked Man was given a weapon by King Porky which the latter had his scientists create originally out of boredom. It reacts to his PSI in order to create a yellow blade, effectively turning the weapon into a sort of energy sword. Masked Man (and any other PSI user if they can get the hang of the weapon) can use it as a traditional blade or to send out a wave of PSI.
Abilities/Powers: Both Claus and Masked Man boast a variety of PSI moves. But the most unique one he is capable of is so rare, only one other person can do it--his brother, Lucas. The move is called PK Love by the Magypsies. ...Yeah, Claus laughed at the name at first, too, but it's quite powerful. In fact, his ability to perform PK Love was the reason the Pigmasks chose him to be their masked commander. One of his other signature PSI moves (yet ironically, the one he's most vulnerable to) is PK Thunder.
Skills: Claus's skills are mostly typical boyish skills like dashing, climbing, swinging, wrestling, et cetera. He's also somewhat practiced in gardening, having helped his mother in hers along with Lucas, and sheep herding, as these were what his family took care of. Masked Man was a brilliant strategist, being as cold and calculating as he was. Claus had none of that skill pre-Masked Man, but post-Masked Man he could tap into those skills though not nearly as easily as Masked Man could. Skills with weapons such as the energy blade, on the other hand, stuck with him.
Personality: Claus is a bold and energetic young boy who always wants to get into or try this or that. Of course, just as Lucas became stronger after the events of Mother 3, post-Masked Man Claus is calmer and a tad less impulsive than his younger self... a tad. As Masked Man, he was a cold, calculating, and emotionless... except when his old personality would shine through on rare moments. He was programmed to be completely loyal to the king who ordered his reconstruction, and the Magypsies, when searching for the essence of his heart where he pulled the needles, described him as having no heart. His Masked Man memories are a bit fuzzy, but he can recall all that he did as him... and it scares him. While he remains largely optimistic, he is occasionally haunted by self blame over what happened to his mother and himself, and over all he did to his friends and family as Porky's "delightful little monster." Being to some extent a 10-year-old with the biological form and hormones of a 13-year-old, he can be a little perverted. And while he teases his brother to no end, he'll defend him to no end, too.
History: Claus A. Weastwood was born to Clint Eastwood--I mean, Flint Weastwood--and Hinawa Itoi about a decade after the two were chosen among many others to board the White Ship--the vessel in the military's "Project Harmony" to save humanity from their dying world. Flint, Hinawa, and everyone else who had boarded the vessel (safe for Leder) had their memories modified to forget their old world, so Lucas and Claus were raised to believe their families were always there. The Weastwood family lived in Tazmily Village, which had been built on the southern half of the main Nowhere Island the White Ship landed on. While the family took care of their sheep farm on the plateau and commuted with their other neighbors, Hinawa's father, Alec, lived in a cabin north of the Sunshine Forest. So, the family would often go visit the boys' grandfather; Flint usually stayed behind to watch the sheep.
On the way back from grandpa's when the boys were 10, Claus wandered off ignoring his mother's orders to stay with her and Lucas. Within a minute, he ran into one of the Dragos. Now, these dinosaur-like creatures were friendly beasts, and the boys would play with them whenever they visited grandpa's cabin. But this one was different--parts of its body were metal, and he was particularly aggressive. when Hinawa found him, she pulled him back over with her and Lucas, but the strange Drago--the Mecha-Drago--attacked. In a desperate attempt to save her children, Hinawa threw them into the river to be carried away from the scene. The next time she was found, she had a Drago fang impaled in her heart. Claus was so distraught, he went after the Mecha-Drago with Flint's homemade knife--a rather stupid move, given a Drago's uber-strong hide. Lucas, worried for his brother, wanted to go with him, but Claus brushed him aside, insisting on going alone.
On his way to find the Drago that killed his mother, he met the Magypsies. When he explained what he planed to do, they decided to aide him by teaching him some PSI moves, sensing he was a psychic, and were impressed when they discovered he was capable of the elusive PK Love. While Claus laughed off the name at first, he quickly changed his mind about it when he saw it in action. Unfortunately, as could have been predicted... yeah, the Mecha-Drago pretty much owned him. A mortally wounded Claus landed on the beach near the plateau the Mecha-Drago resided. He might have died there had a group of Pigmasks hadn't found him. When observed by their newest member, a mysterious man named Fassad, he assured him, "Yes, this boy is definitely the one King P wants..."
King Porky's lead scientist, Dr. Andonuts, was assigned with the task of turning this poor unfortunate soul into the ruthless Pigmask Commander. In the end, the happy energetic boy became a cold emotionless military leader. But shades of his old personality shone through at times, key evidence of this being the lone sunflower he took care of that--by means unknown even to him--lived much longer than it should have. Masked Man as assigned to numerous tasks in the army by King P, but one day when assigned at Thunder Tower, he ran afoul with an imposter... whom he got the strangest feeling of familiarity from. The boy named Lucas soon became Masked Man's biggest competition to reach seven needles that would unleash a powerful dragon. According to Fassad, only someone who knew PK Love could pull the needles, and those two were the Masked Man and Lucas. Throughout the course of the hunt, three were pulled by Masked Man and three by Lucas.
The Pigmask Army knew the final needle was somewhere under where they had built their metropolis, New Pork City, but they didn't know where just yet. Feeling the need for a challenge, Porky invited Lucas and his friends to the city and began playing games with them until the needle was finally located. The Pig King sent Masked Man to pull the needle while he held Lucas and gang off, but the gang "defeated" Porky when he inadvertently trapped himself in his own Absolutely Safe Capsule. Lucas, having learned who the Masked Man was by then, refused to fight his brother, so Masked Man's defeat of him would've been a slaughter... but Hinawa's spirit was able to reach Claus and bring him back to his senses. Claus, fearing that Masked Man would resurface again, used Lucas's Franklin Badge to strike himself with a deadly blast of PK Thunder killing himself.
An unspecified amount of time after his self-defeat, Claus woke up in New Pork City right next to the portal to Dimensional Island--the island had revived him, but why...?
