(this isn't going on during "A Monster", just to let you know. Doesn't matter if it's before or after)
Eddy yawned, getting bored with the television. As if anything good's going to be on Thursday night. Something interested needed to happen, or else he'd die from the sheer boredum.
And something did.
Raz sat up suddenly from a similar, laxed pose, noticing something off-kilter.
"What's up, Raz?" Ed asked.
"I dunno... something weird...huh?"
They followed his gaze to the door, where a slip of paper had suddenly slipped in underneath. Eddy had beat them to the punch, leaping off the couch and snatching it up.
the sh0rt 1's gotta meat me at the industrial place, asaP. COME alone if u want to no who put a hit on ur head.
"...huh!?" Eddy made a face. "Who the heck's...!?"
"The world's worst speller, that's who," Raz noted, looking over the cryptic message. "Looks like someone wants to meet with you."
"Me?" Eddy grew confused. "How do YOU know that?"
"'Cause you're the short one, Eddy!" Ed helpfully answered.
"...thanks, Ed. Thanks a lot."

"A hit? This is serious."
4 leaned over Eddy and examined the note. "Huh. They went with clipping letters out of a magazine? Cliche, but still classic." It didn't seem to bother him that he had broken into the apartment through the window. It wasn't his apartment, after all.

"WAH!" Eddy fell over at 4's sudden appearence, glacing up at him with a glare. "Where'd YOU come from!?"
"Oops!" Ed hurried over and stood in front of the window, pretending nothing was wrong with it as he wore a big, stupid grin.
"I think they do the cut-and-paste thing so forensics can't analyze handwriting," Raz brought up.

"Yeah, but it's not just that..." 4 pointed out, not paying attention to Eddy at all. "This guy used the wrong 'meat', mispelled a few words, and why would he say 'the short one' when it would be easier to spell out 'Eddy'?
"I've had experience with this stuff," 4 explained as he grabbed the note and held it up to his shades. "There's way too many contradictions in this-- horrible spelling but perfect punctuation? It's the kind of stuff you'd find..."
4 stopped dead. "Oh, crap. Um... short kid, what is it that you can do?"

"Can do?"
"I think he's asking you what your powers are," Raz translated.
"Oh. Uh, super speed and fire manipulation."

"That might be good enough." 4 responded. "So, are you gonna go?"

"Might as well," Eddy heaved himself off the floor, stretching his legs down low before his next sprint. "Better me than the others. They all got enough problems as it is."

"You'd better be careful-- if it's an assassin from where I come from, they've planned something for you." 4 warned grimly. "And the spelling in the letter's really setting off my spider-sense..."

"Spider-sense?" Ed looked at 4 in a new light. "Did you et bit by a radioactive spider, too??"
"No kidding..." Eddy sighed, approaching the door. "...hey, guys. Let everybody know where I'm going, alright? ...'specially Nazz."
"You got it, Eddy."

"Man, I don't wanna send someone off to face an assassin like this..." 4 muttered. "It could be anyone."

"Well, then why don't you go WITH Eddy??"
"That might be dangerous, too," Raz explained to Ed. "They wanna meet with Eddy only, so..."

"He's got a point, actually." 4 pointed out. "Only idiots ever actually go where the note tells them without any back-up. I mean, only HUGE idiots. BIG idiots. GIGANTIC idiots. Good thing that your little friend's smart enough to... he left already, didn't he?"

"...son of a gun, he did." Raz sighed in exasperation. "He's heading to the industrial park, right? Ed, you stay behind and let the others know what's going on. Me and 4 will meet up with Eddy, whether he likes it or not. Sound good?"

"... were you talking to me or the smelly guy?" 4 asked, honestly confused. "I'm not that good with people..."

"Ed's staying behind, and you're with me," Raz concluded, not wanting to waste any time. "Come on, Eddy's probably over halfway there by now."
"Bye, guys!" Ed waved typically.
