"I'll be your Hero..."

Evil was in her own little word, ignoring everything they said. Their petty quarrel meant nothing to her. Her eyes remained forward and her back remained to them both. Her hand placed itself over her heart. Yuuma was looking quietly at her, concerned. But he knew this wasn't the time to speak. So he kept his mouth shut as Evil dug deep into her mind. There was nothing he could do anyway. Evil wouldn't listen to anyone at the moment. Well, that was, till the phrase she had said was repeated.
"Until the end..of time...." she murmured softly to herself. Evil forced herself to turn around and look at Jin. But it only brought so much more pain. He looked exactly like Haru, and it was killing her on the inside. Not one detail was different....
"H-Haru told me....it w-was our promise..." she managed to say without her voice cracking.

"...but only if you save me."

Crossing his arms, Jin let his eyes shift towards the ground. Haru... Until the end of time... why do I know this stuff? A gentle wind twirled gracefully through the trees and tugged gently at the long arm of the scarf that dangled from Jin's neck. Heaving a soft sigh the man shook his head. "I guess the end of time came sooner than you expected?" Jin allowed a moment of silence to follow his words before continuing his statement. "I'm sorry you lost him... I guess. Just keep living, don't let your life go to waste. I'm sure he would've wanted that... no?" Something like a heavy chain seemed to embrace Jin's heart and slowly weight it down to the point where it sat at the depths of his normally uncaring soul. This is getting stupid... Jin thought. She's making me depressed so I'm outta here. Deciding that he has finally had enough of this strange pair of travelers, Jin uncrossed his arms and looked around. Where to next? Pulling off his scarf, Jin tied it around his waist, exposing the back of his neck and the small infinity symbol which had been there - tattooed he guessed - since before he could remember... With a simple wave Jin turned around and started down the path once more.

"I'll be your Hero..."

"Yeah..." Evil responded quietly and looked down. "I had been dead also...but I was brought back."
Her eyes flashed with anger for a moment, then calmed again. Why had she died and then returned? Why couldn't she have stayed dead with him? As she listened, her heart began to pound and ache even more. Haru had said the exact same thing...just keep living...don't waste your life. She watched him and wondered, why? How could this man be so much like Haru? Why was he so much like Haru? It hurt her deeply and depressed her more. He had pulled off his scarf and Evil watched him. He was leaving...no....don't go....
Haru...don't go... her mind thought unconciously and her body tried to move itself forward. But she froze in place as she say the symbol.
"W-where...?" she breathed softly, "where did....you get a demon cursed seal....? The Demon's Way....y-you're not a halfbreed...."
He had waved and was walking, but she wanted her question answered. She wanted to know...her heart ached and mind yearned to understand....

"...but only if you save me."

At the mention of the mark on the back of his neck Jin paused and glanced behind him at the woman. A demon cursed seal? The way of the demon? Halfbreed? What was she talking about? Jin reached behind his head and gently touched the mark which rest at the base of his neck. She knew what it was? Tilting his head and furrowing his brows the dark-haired man allowed his hands to fall to his sides. "I don't know... it's always been there... since I was born, I guess." Jin shrugged. "I always thought it was a tattoo or something..." the man shrugged, but stayed his ground. He was a little startled by today... by the way things had been going lately. It felt as if the world had pushed him towards the woman. Why? He knew nothing about her... Never knew she existed until today... Jin's topaz eyes jumped from Evil to the other man and back. He frowned. "Why does it catch your attention?" He asked.

"I'll be your Hero..."

Evil's eyes remained intently on the marking on his neck. She gazed at the color of it, all the marks were red. His was the same color as hers....red. The exact same marking...the exact same appearance...personality...why? What had she done to be reminded like this? How she had tried to move one...and forget. But it was so impossible now that Haru was freshly imprinted in her mind.
"Tatto..." she murmured and smiled sadly, "you could call it that. Is there some times...when it gives you an irritating feeling? Like pain...yet it's bearable."
Then other times when it's not bearable... Evil added mentally. Her sable eyes gazed into his topaz ones, trying to find something. Anything. Anything to answer this question that was bringing madness into her mind!
"The curse mark...I know it's one for a halfbreed. Any halfbreed like myself can pinpoint a marking like that."
She held out her right hand and opened her fingers, revealing her palm. On her palm was her own curse mark, seeming to glow a blood red color. Evil wouldn't tell anyone, but it was paining her right now. It was the unbearable pain, also, but she wouldn't show it. She closed her palm and her hand fell to her side.
"It's a horrible marking to have....and it's impossible to erase, even in death..."
Her eyes clouded over and revealed her pain for a moment, but then the look disappeared. "It catches my attention because..well..."
Her eyes shifted to the ground and she sighed, "you're just too much like him. Haru-san...he had the exact same demon marking in the exact same place. That's all..."

"...but only if you save me."

"I... I guess it does cause some irritation sometimes. Kinda burns here and there... but nothing that really bothers me." Jin shrugged and shoved his hands into his pockets. "Haru... hmm... name sounds kinda familiar." Everything sounded familiar as of late... maybe Jin was going crazy.

Evil sighed gently and shook her head, what was this? Why was he so much like him?
"You two are almost exactly alike....it's wierd."
She frowned at Jin, "I don't think you ever told me your name....?"

"...but only if you save me."

Almost exactly alike...? Jin was slightly interested now, in this Haru guy... but it really wasn't his buisness. "My name? Jin... Otani, Jin." He said, a small smile tweaking the corners of his lips.

"Jin," Evil repeated and nodded, she would remember that. "It's nice to meet you then, Jin-san. Oh..."
She looked down at the quiet Yuuma, "this is Yuuma....by the way."
She gestured slightly towards him. Otani, Jin....she repeated the name again in her head. She'd really have to remember that name. Evil didn't know why, but she felt....attached...to Jin. Like she had known him...well...the illusion probably came from his resemblence to Haru.

"...but only if you save me."

Jin's golden eyes shifted towards the boy momentarily, a flash of a smile touching his lips before he returned his eyes to Evil. "Cute kid," Jin said. Crossing his arms, Jin cast his eyes down the road and pursed his lips. He had to get going... if he wanted to make any progress. But what was there to make progress on? Nothing, really, je just felt the need to go. He hated staying in one place for too long; it just wasn't his nature to sit and watch. He needed to move. "Well, I have somewhere to be," which was a lie, "I guess I'll catch ya later, Evil-" Jin's eyes jumped to the man who had been following the woman, "-you too... I guess." And just as he had come the man was gone, like the wind. Somewhere within the many thoughts his mind held, Jin had an understanding that he definitely would run into that woman again.
