A Walk in the Woods

[Marinia]

The woman smiled waningly through her tears. "Yes. that is how it is with many."
She thought back to a time when she had not known what it was like to have friends who really cared. "Tis a lonely life." her hand slightly quivered as she reached for another small plant.

[Tharu]

"Life is always lonely, those you love ether die or are killed in the end..." The young man says his thoughts heading down that painful path again, his hand tightening on the hilt of his sword while the other one gentle-y holds the thin silver chain necklace.

[Marinia]

"Better to have loved and to loose than to not have loved at all." she stated quietly and rose. "Wat is your name, lone wanderer?" se asked kindly.

[Tharu]

"Better not to get attached, so as not to feel the pain of loosing it." He retorts loosing the grip on the sword hilt and caressing the necklace again. "Halador, and you?"

[Marinia]

"Marinia." she replied, slightly glancing him over. Her eyes were soft and gentle as she nodded at him. "The pain can serve to make one strong." she continued along the edge of the clearing to a patch of rosemary.

[Tharu]

"It can also make you weak, for some pain is too big to heal." Halador responds slowly following after her, Slush heading back into the clearing to continue his grazing.

[Marinia]

Marinia continued her work as she spoke. "Healing can be difficult, but never impossible. take it from someone who learned the hard way."

[Tharu]

"Some wounds are to big to heal, despite what you say" Halador says clutching the necklace 'when you loss everything you've ever known, it can't be healed...' He thinks.

[Marinia]

"time mends all things. But we each choose how we allow things to affect us, and we each choos our own path to some degree."she finished digging a ginger root from benieth a tree. "we learn by our own experience more often than we do from the experience of others."

[Tharu]

"I think ten years is more then long enough..." Halador mutters still fingering the necklace.

[Marinia]

Marinias eyes twinkled for a brief moment. "Try 6,788 years." she glanced at him then put the ginger away. She then rose again and peered along the pathside. Late afternoon sunshine formed columns of light through the tree branches above.

[Tharu]

Halador shows no outward sign of anything upon hearing the woman, Marinia's, many years. "Not everyone had that many years available to them to heal." He states.

[Marinia]

"indeed, an ven fewer listen to the advise of those who have." she replied plainly, walking over to a patch of fiddleheads.

[Tharu]

"The last piece of useful advise I've ever been given came from men I killed anyways." Halador states staying where he is and leaning up against the tree he had touched earlier, always making sure he could see the woman.

[Marinia]

Marinia continued about her task, not bothered in the least by Halador's watchful gaze. "well then i suppose you wont be listening to me. can i offer you anything? a place to stay, dinner?" she asked nonchalantly.
