He didn't respond to the Poison-Jabbing accusation. He only poison jabbed people if they were being stupid, which tended to be pretty often.

Jacey hadn't even realized it but she was thinking of King training galiantly in a forest of cherry blossom trees looking very dashing to her. She was blushing as she mindlessy stared at some guy who was passing by her who was immediatly creeped out by this and ran off.
