"Seeya later!!" Crash cheerfully waved after Otto. "What a nice guy. A lot nicer than other people, that's for sure."
(you can continue on without me until I decide whether to jump back in with another character or not)

Latanya's reaction to the boy was not unexpected. "Why you... JERK!" KABOW! Even though she was in her base form, it was still going to hurt like hell. And she didn't even use her full strength when throwing her punch at his face. If she had, she would've probably knocked it clean off, killing the boy before her, and that was something she wished to avoid, despite her anger.

Otto crashed into the far wall, a smoke screen covering him.
After a second, the smoke cleared up... Revealing Otto with little to no scratches on his being. Probably the only thing on his being that looked injured was the shiner on his left eye. "Ow..." He groaned as he got to his feet, surprising Latanya greatly. Hardly anyone's ever stood back up after an attack like that. Yet he did it so easily! "WHAT THE HELL, YA CRAZY-!! THAT WAS UNCALLED FOR!!!!"
It was natural his reaction, but the surprise that he was standing again so soon had surprised her.
Leaving her open for a powerful punch to the gut, going at speeds equal to any saiyan, or Super Saiyan she had ever fought before, colliding with her gut at a breakneck pace.

Latanya's eyes widened as she noticed he had no scratches on him. "What the...?!" Her sentence was cut off the minute he landed a hard blow on her, knocking her into the wall. She got out, about the same he did, but she was getting pissed. "Fuck you, you fucking bastard! I oughta...!"
"That's enough Latanya!"
Latanya grimaced as Goku landed right behind her. "Goku... Leave me alone."
"It's been days since Ruby died... So why are you still upset?"
"The battle hasn't started for days... This jewel is worthless until the last one is gathered! Until it is, I cannot keep my promise! And everyone comes after me; I can no longer rest one second!"

Otto looked between Goku and Latanya, his mind going a million miles an hour. He was especially surprised at the mention of the gem. He examined Latanya; she held one of the gems?
He considered this, it looked like his blow barely did anything to Latanya, aside from knocking the wind out of her. That was surprising; considering he was supposedly an unmatched fighter back on his world. In a straight on fight, he'd never stand a chance. The inclusion of this man had also unnerved him. He could feel the presence of the same energy that embued Latanya...
Then again, he hadn't even taken his game to second gear yet... But better not to take chances.
But putting that aside...
Otto looked between the two, before taking a step or two back. Goku and Latanya's eyes fell on him. He cleared his throat, before taking a humble bow. "Um... My apologies, a thousand pardons." He lifted back up after bowing three times in a row. "I've only just arrived in this town, I guess I need to work on my social skills." Latanya snorted; that's putting it mildly. "But my apologies either way." He turned to Latanya and gave a shame-faced grin, though it almost looked like a grimace. "May I say you're an amazing fighter. I felt that you held back on that blow, but you still sent me flying regardless. Amazing." He shrugged, "Guess I still have more training to do, if I want to keep up."

"... The only reason I held back was because I didn't want to kill you. Even if you are a jerk, 'twould not do well for you to die or for me to be tainted with evil from it," Latanya said. "If that happened, I could revert back to primative Saiyan-like behavior, a place I'll never go again."
"I have to appologize for Latanya myself... We were supposed to stay together, but a powerful enemy after her gem piece caused us to seperate. I'm sure she hasn't been able to sleep due to the kinds of powers chasing after those things... not to mention the Dark Insects still running around. Things have been chaotic," Goku said. "But I guess that's to be expected from a world made entirely out of chaos energy."

Otto acted as if this was the first time the gem topic caught his attention. "Gem you say?" He considered this. "Yes, I've heard of these gems, not too much but enough to have a general idea." He shrugged. "In fact, I was just on my way to the library to learn more about it."
Otto could've won actor of the year with his performance. "It sounds like a powerful artifact." Now that he thought about it, he could feel it's presence in Latanya's pocket... How in the UNDERWORLD did he miss it? "Is it possible if I can see this gem? I'm something of an explorer myself, and I'd like to look at one, if only just once."

Latanya listened to his plight, but the minute he asked to see it, she immediatelty thrust her hand in her pocket and took a defensive stance, snarling as if she were a primative beast without reason.
"Sorry, but... Latanya's very defensive about the jewel piece... It was held by a little girl she had took as her daughter... She got killed by one of the evil powers searching for the jewel shards and gave it to Latanya to keep..." Goku sighed at this, as if a sigh could convey the true meaning behind it all. "Even when someone with a pure heart asks to see it, she ends up reacting exactly like this."

Otto recoiled at the growl, but nodded in understanding. "Okay." He bowed to Latanya. "Forgive me for asking. It was just curiosity mind you."
He lowered his head, and backed away. "Forgive me if I caused you any trouble." He immediately lifted his head once more, something catching his attention. "Oh forgive me, I had been so wrapped up in events I forgot to properly introduce myself." He held out a hand. "My name is Otto Shinryu. I'm an ex-member of the Peace Corps and a Guardian of the Elements in the paradise world of Arcadia Valley." He turned to Latanya most of all. "I do hope their won't have to be bad blood between us. I'd rather prefer it if I didn't have someone as strong as you breathing down my neck."

The group hears an aweful racket as a beat up old volkswagon drives up. Inside the car, swearing his head off at the contraption was a human wearing-of all things-an unbuckled straightjacket.
The driver appeared to be in his twenty's, had wild hair, and wore a pair of swirly-eyed glasses to further emphasize his apparent state of mind. He also wore a gray shirt, black pants, and black and white sneakers.
"Come on you useless piece of junk, DON'T YOU DARE DIE ON ME AGAIN!!! I'm late for my show!!!"
The car made a number of comical engine trouble noises, and some loud banging was heard. Weither it was the young man hitting the dashboard or the engine itself was unknown.
Finally, the car sputters and falls silent. The young man's face turns bright red with rage in a cartoony fashion, as steam shoots out his nose creating the sound of a steam locomotive's whistle.
"USELESS PIECE OF JUNK!!! When I get my hands on the jerk who gave me this deathtrap, I'LL MAKE HIM WISH HE WAS NEVER BORN!!!!"
The young man finally gets the car to work again,ut not before the car backfires, creating an explosion that sounded similar to a shotgun being fired, resulting in a huge plume of exhaust being blown back onto Otto, Goku, and Latanya. When the cloud cleared, they are covered head to toe with soot from the exhaust.
The young man looks back, and sees the people who got blasted by his car. "WOOPS!!! Sorry about that!"

Latanya was about to say something, but the arrival, unexpected as it was, from the other man shut her mouth. The explosion caught both the Saiyans off guard and then they were covered in soot. Latanya put the jewel piece back in her pocket and the ground began to shake at her rage. "Latanya! Calm down!" Goku yelled and that was all it took.
"Where do these people come from?! When is the last jewel piece gonna be found?! I wanna get this fight over with so I can keep my promise to Ruby!" Latanya practically yelled, then flew off.
"Oh man... what am I gonna do with her?" Goku muttered to himself.

The newcomer looks at the scene confused.
"Did I interupt something?" He asked, concerned he had been rude just now.
He then looked at Otto and said, "Huh? Otto? Is that you?! Man I thought you and the others were done for after we fled Toon Town! Those freaky bugs were something, weren't they?"

Thoroughly surprised at what had happened, Otto stood in silence for a moment, before finally shaking the soot off of him like a dog.
With that done, he dusted off his jacket before turning to Goku, "My suggestion?" He replied flatly, "Get a beeper for that woman." The response surprised Goku a little, though he didn't have time to ask where that had come from before Otto turned to the newcomer.
Otto looked the newcomer up and down, even taking a slight sniff of him. His scent didn't smell familiar. "I'm sorry, but... I don't believe we've ever met before now." The fact that this guy knew his name freaked him out a little, but he wasn't about to let him know that. "If you're from those jokers back at the Arcadian Peacecorps you can tell them I'm not interested in signing back up."

The young man looked at Otto strangely, even the lenses on his glasses matching the look of his arched eyebrows as they looked on in confusion. Otto and Goky looked surised at the sight o the glasses shapeshifting to match the young man's expression.
"Arcadian Peacecorps?! Otto, just what the Samule Langhorn H---are you talking about?!? I never heard of such an organization, not even from Gantz and he knows practically everything!" The young man replied.
Otto just looked on confused, not answering the question.
The young man then said, "Come on, no one can forget me! Otto, it's me, Nutcase! Nutcase, full name Nutcase Screw Ball? Remember?"
Otto shook his head.
Nutcase looked at Otto with a suprised look, and said, "Ok, if you can't remember me, explain how I know you. You are Otto, and you're one of my closest friends. We met in Toon Town years ago alongside our other friend Wally. Remember now?"
Otto again shook his head, beginning to get impatient.
Nutcase sighed dejectedly and said, "Ok...Either you're not the Otto I know, which I don't see how since you look and sound exactly the same, or the incident with those damn bugs in Toon Town somehow left you with amnesia. Anyway as for your previous statement about some military group in an arcade, I can assure you I have no connection with them. I work in the private sector with my friends. You should know that, assuming you are the Otto I know. Now if you'll excuse me I have a show to get to. I'm performing at a place down the road from here since I had to leave home. You two should come along as my guests, I'll tell the guys to look out for you."
Nutcase gets back in the beat up volkswagon and drives off.
