Ash padded over as this argument was going on, ready to protect his new friend if he needed to. "I would trust her on this."

Kafei walked next to Ash. "Do you have any idea what there saying?"

An'nya finaly regeistered Kafei's question when he asked Ash what was going on.

"Oh Sorry Kafei. We're talking about events that happened on another world. At the time there was a war that was happeing within a counrty, or kingdom I guess you could call it. Abraham was the leader of the country and helped the nation through the war. Does that help at all?" She completely disregared the fact she still had the guy's finger bent back.

[DM: Dersite Merchant]

The man yanked his finger away from her and declared, "You listen here: just 'cause one Time Squad unit can't do their job right doesn't give you the right to judge what the entire force--"

"Oh, like we have room to talk, Tuddrussel," Larry butted in. "Before we picked up the human history encyclopedia here," he pointed to Otto, "we didn't have a clue what we were doing."

"Hey, if you're not gonna help, just keep your metal trap shut," the man named Tuddrussel spat at his robot.

"Guys, guys, calm down!" Otto intervened before any real fighting could start. He then turned his attention to An'nya; he might as well try clearing things up.

"I think there's a little misunderstanding here," he told her politely. "I guess it sounds to you like we go back and time to change unpleasant events to make history better. But, here's the real scoop.

"By our time--about a hundred million years AD--our dimension's grown so old, it's timeline has started to decay. And this decaying manifests itself as historical inaccuracies. See, they start off as subtle changes, but left unchecked they snowball until they veer history completely off course.

"So, the role of Time Squad is to monitor history and look for signs of this decay. When we find it, we go back and set things straight again, making sure everything happens as it was historically supposed to--the good, the bad, and the ugly."

"So those events happened somewhere else. Okay." He looked at the time squad has he heard otto talking. " Otto is it? Your more polite that your team mates."

[DM: Dersite Merchant]

Tuddrussel and Larry looked insulted; Otto took it in stride. He said very quietly to Kafei, "They've got their issues, but they're real great once you get to know them... just don't leave them together in the same room for a few minutes without expecting an argument."

An'nya sighed and crossed her arms across her chest.

"I'm well aware of this, I do basicly the same job only on a larger scale. I've just had really bad experiances with localized death bringers...umm.. time squads if you will. I do appoligize if I insulted you three in any way. It wasn't my intention, I was just venting. I also know of the good you've doen for your world. I shouldn't have gone off."

She unfolded her arms and twitched in place rubbing her wrist.

Ash chuckled at hearing Larry talk about his teammates like that. "I can understand that, my friends and i had that problem a lot."

[DM: Dersite Merchant]

(( You mean, Otto. ^^; ))

"It's okay," said Otto with a smile. "I mean, if you've had bad experiences with other Time Squad-like groups..."

Larry glanced up from his minicomputer and reported, "Well, at least I've pinpointed the cause of our arrival here. I just proofread my calculations for time travel and discovered a few subtle errors in the mathematics, which would explain why we're not in Washington D.C. of 1850."

"But, that's happened before," Otto reminded him. "And the worst that's ever done was landed us in the Cretaceous period."

"Yes, but this miscalculation is nothing like our previous ones," Larry mused while scanning over the data on the screen. "The coordinates that resulted from those calculations seem to contradict themselves at places and even refer to the the theoretical properties of multiple dimensions. The time travel software must've gotten so jumbled and confused, it just dumped us right here at the crossroads of fifth dimensions."

"Or theres a bug in your system...."

An'nya off handly commented stooping down to Ashes level finaly noticing he had changed forms.

"Damn your cute like this." She said pulling at one of Ashes cheeks.

Ash seemed to glow at the complement, "Thank you." he squeaked. though his cheecks gave of sparks at being pulled.

Kafei looked confused. "okay I'm lost what in world is that stuff your using?"

[DM: Dersite Merchant]

Larry nodded at An'nya's suggestion. "It's a possibility. This program's gotten so outdated, I wouldn't be surprised."

Then in answer to Kafei's question, he explained, "Oh, this? This is our time travel software; the first generation of the software developed several decades before our time. The program is designed to generate a controlled fourth dimensional--that is, time-traveling--wormhole that opens long enough to pull the user through. Normally, safe fourth-dimensional travel requires a vehicle--a "time machine," if you will--but the software's been designed to bypass that necessity."

An'nya raised an eyebrow and took pity on the kid.

"It makes portals like the one you came though to get here, if that helps any. And Larry right? if there is a bug, it could mean you need a vehical now, who knows what would happen if you tryed to get back through with just your selves."

She was now Holding Ash still pulling at his cheeks alittle. Not careing about the eletrical sparks.

Kafei looked at the technology and tried to make sense of the techo bauble as tried not to laugh at Ash getting his cheeks pitched.
