The only problems I have with pairing Link is that he has no personality. XD Literally lawl

One of the great things abut Nintendo is that there usually is no cannon XD

And you're right about canon, panda. When you really think about it... There is no actual relationship between Link and Zelda, yet people think they deserve each other. I perfer Link/Midna...

Of course there's no cannon. Nintendo doesn't really do the romance thing well, though I can tell that Mario and Peach are hitting it off. Mario and Peach are the closest thing to Canon you'll find in Nintendo's franchise. Square Enix... Damn there's a lot of canon. SquallXRinoa is a given... SoraXKairi is practically another, though they're kinda like Nintendo in that fashion as well.

The great thing about Link is that his character is vague, and that gives you control over how to characterize him. I've seen him as both a big sweeheart and a cold-hearted bastard. And with this diversity, you could pair the guy up with ANYBODY. XD
I did Link/Zelda for a while, but it just got old. XD I can see it in OOT, but not TP. Link was pretty much like "oo, it's a princess" and that's pretty much it. XD
...actually, Link had a bit more character than usual in TP. He was more warm, friendly, and down to earth. You could see it in the cutscenes so clearly.

The only way I can see Link/Ganondorf as a pairing is for rape and torture. I've actually read a couple really good fics (from the same author, I think XD) with these circumstances, but other than that? *insert 5-foot pole here*

Yup, if Link/Ganondorf had to be anything, that would be it. Then Zelda would come in after a time warp to Metal Gear Solid with some rocket launchers and blow Ganon to Hell and back.
