Full Name: Dawn Tuworry
Nicknames: Dee Dee
Age: 10, almost 11
Height: ?
Weight: ?
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Alliance: Good
Home: Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh
Franchise: Pokemon (anime)
Physical Description: Dawn is an average height for her age, though she tends to lean toward the slender side of things when it comes to her weight and body stature. She has long, straight dark blue hair that goes down to the middle of her back. Most of the time, she keeps the hair held up with three yellow, triangle shaped clips, two in the front, and one in the back that forms a small ponytail. She has round blue eyes and lightly tanned skin.
Dawn has several outfits she wears, but the one she is most often seen in is a mostly-black mini-dress with a low cut v-shaped neck and a very short pink skirt piece. Underneath this dress she wears a white undershirt to cover up what the dress doesn’t. Also of note is that this dress seems to be specifically made to prevent pantyshots somehow. Around her neck, Dawn wears a short dark pink scarf that is tied on the left side of her neck.
On her head, Dawn wears a very particular white beanie with a pink Pokeball design on it. Around her wrist she wears a pink Poketch, a sort of multi-purpose watch.
On her feet, Dawn wears long black socks that come up to her knees. Over them, she wears a pair of pink boots with a Velcro clasp and white soles.
She carries a yellow knapsack she keeps her various items, Pokeballs, etc. in.
Her contest outfits are typically well made dresses. The one she prefers to wear for contests is a simple pink dress with several ribbons on it, including one tied around her waist. When wearing this dress, she puts her hair up in a ponytail and wears a black choker around her neck.
Weapons: Dawn doesn’t carry any weapons on her, though she could probably use a rock or stick as a makeshift weapon if she reaaally had to.
Abilities/Powers: Dawn’s a normal human. However, after encountering the Pokemon Mesprit shortly after beginning her journey, Dawn “synchronized” with the Pokemon, causing her to be able to communicate through a form of telepathy once her thoughts became synchronized with it. This power is also absolutely useless on the island, unless Mesprit suddenly appears.
Skills: Dawn’s skills are with Pokemon Contests, usually being able to come up with a good strategy for them. She’s not an expert, though, having just started her Pokemon journey. She’s also pretty good at making Poffins. She’s also good at designing clothes, but her sewing skills are subpar at best.
Personality: Dawn is known for her confidence, typically looking toward the future instead of dwelling on past mistakes. She is assured in her own strength and tries not to worry about things, to the point that her catch phrase is “No need to worry!” This isn’t to mean that she’s endlessly confident. After having her self-confidence completely shattered by losing two contests in the appeal round, she ended up being unable to do anything until she finally regained her confidence. After this, she became more focused and humble, and focused more on training her Pokemon.
History: Dawn lived in Twinleaf Town for her entire life before starting her Pokemon journey at age ten. Her mother, Johanna, was a coordinator who once won the Grand Festival, the final stage for coordinators. Her dream was to become a great coordinator like her mom was. Dawn also had two good friends when she was younger, Kenny, who went on to become a coordinator, and Leona, who decided to do the Pokemon Gym challenge instead.
Back in kindergarten, Dawn had an incident regarding the class pets, Plusle and Minun, which led to her getting shocked and her hair getting all sparkly. This somehow led to her nickname of Dee Dee. If anyone actually tries to explain the origin of the nickname, she tends to get… violent.
On Dawn’s 10th birthday, she set out on her Pokemon journey, heading out from Twinleaf Town toward Sandgem Town on her bike. Once there, she runs into Professor Rowan and learns that two of the three starters he had prepared have run off after a fight. Dawn then is made to help find them. She finds Piplup trapped in an Ariados’ web, and manages to free it only to be trapped by the Ariados herself. Piplup then fights back against the Ariados, saving Dawn. Piplup faints afterward, and Dawn carries it with her as she looks for the escaped Chimchar. While exploring, she comes across Lake Verity, where she spots Rowan’s Staraptor carrying Chimchar back to the lab. She’s about to leave when she spots a mysterious Pokemon emerge from the lake for a moment before disappearing. Dawn returns to Rowan’s lab, where he explains it may have been the legendary pokemon of the lake before being given several Pokeballs, a Pokedex, and her starter, the same Piplup from before.
While riding down Route 202, Dawn encounters a Pikachu, who she discovers is already owned by someone after her Pokeball fails to catch it. During the fight, Pikachu incinerates Dawn’s bike. After a long series of events, the Pikachu is returned to its trainer, Ash Ketchum, and Dawn begins travelling with Ash and his friend Brock.
Dawn lost her first contest, but with some support from her mother, she managed to win her next one. However, her luck ran out around the time she made it to Hearthome, with Dawn losing in the appeal round of the contest. When Dawn made it to Solaceon Town, she once again lost in the appeal round. This caused a large blow to Dawn’s self esteem that she didn’t really recover out of until she fought Maylene in Veilstone City. She finally fully recovered after defeating May at the Wallace Cup, and went back to earning ribbons together with her Pokemon.
While travelling with Ash, Dawn had several encounters with Team Galactic, a team of criminals who wanted to create a whole new universe. It was through one encounter at Fuego Ironworks that Dawn learned she was synchronized with the legendary pokemon Mesprit, though she didn’t know what Jupiter meant by that until later.
While eating breakfast at a Pokemon Center one day, Ash suddenly grabbed his head in pain and said that he felt Azelf. Once the pain had passed, Ash, Dawn, and Brock went to call Professor Rowan and find out what was going on. Professor Rowan explained that Team Galactic was trying to capture the Lake Pokemon by exploding a Galactic Bomb in Lake Valor, and Gary Oak, Ash’s old rival, was trying to hold them off. The three ran outside, where Cynthia, the Sinnoh Champion, pulled up in a jeep and told them to get in. On the way there, Cynthia filled the three in on some more details while Mesprit and Uxie arrived at Lake Valor. Mesprit and Uxie only got a chance to fire off a Future Sight each before being turned to stone by Pokemon Hunter J. Dawn and Brock ended up having the same reaction to this as Ash had to both the Galactic Bomb’s explosion and Azelf’s being turned to stone: splitting pain. After the Lake Pokemon were transported to Team Galactic’s base and had parts of the Red Chain placed upon them to control them, with their last bit of strength, the Lake Pokemon summoned Ash, Dawn, and Brock to the Galactic base. This backfired as Team Galactic then captured the three and used them as hostages to make the Lake Pokemon listen to them. However, Cynthia helped the three (as well as Looker and Team Rocket) escape and then head into Spear Pillar to confront Cyrus. They get there too late to stop Dialga and Palkia from being summoned, but the three use their Pokemon to free the Lake Pokemon from Cyrus’ control. Dawn and Mesprit’s thoughts synchronize, and they work to free Dialga and Palkia to stop them from forming the new dimension. They finally free Dialga and Palkia from the Red Chain, and the new dimension begins to disappear as Cyrus steps into his “perfect world.”
But things weren’t alright yet, as Dialga and Palkia were now fighting, which was causing a large dimensional warp that would destroy Sinnoh. The dimensional distortions caused by the clashing of time and space was pulling all of the energy in Sinnoh into it… and it pulled Ash and Pikachu in first. Before anyone could do anything, Dawn was pulled into the warp as well, and so was Brock. If it hadn’t been for the influence of some mysterious force, Dawn would still be floating out in the void between dimensions…
Other: Like with Ash’s app, Dawn’s regards all of the movies out so far as canon, though the only ones that are important to her are the DP trilogy with Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and Arceus. They’re just really hard to fit in without breaking up flow, so I left them out.
Dawn’s last name is fanon.
Also, I wasn’t kidding about the bike thing in Ash’s app, as you can see.
Pokemon:
Genders are guessed for Pokemon who don’t have them confirmed in the anime already.
Piplup
-Gender: Male
-Moves: Bubblebeam, Peck, Bide, Whirlpool
-Notes: Dawn’s starter and constant partner. More than a tad bit stubborn, prideful, and fierce, but he loves Dawn all the same. He doesn’t really get along well with Ash’s Pikachu, and he haaaaates Dawn’s Cyndaquil.
Buneary
-Gender: Female
-Moves: Bounce, Ice Beam, Dizzy Punch
-Notes: A Buneary who Dawn finally managed to catch after many, many, many, many failed attempts at catching one. She wears a special orange and pink vest that Dawn designed and Dawn’s mother sewed. She has a crush on Ash’s Pikachu.
Pachirisu
-Gender: Female
-Moves: Spark, Discharge, Super Fang, Sweet Kiss
-Notes: A hyper and mischievous Pokemon that Dawn had difficulty controlling for a while, to the point of releasing it once. After recapturing the Pachirisu, though, Dawn became very close to her.
Mamoswine
-Gender: Male
-Moves: Ice Shard, Ancient Power, Take Down, Hidden Power
-Notes: A Pokemon Dawn caught as a Swinub. Back when it was a Swinub, it had a very cheerful personality and loved to eat, but upon evolving into a Piloswine, and a Mamoswine not long after, its personality changed and he began to disobey Dawn. She’s still working at training Mamoswine to listen to her.
Cyndaquil
-Gender: Male
-Moves: Flame Wheel, Smokescreen, Swift
-Notes: A pokemon Dawn hatched from an egg she received as a prize at a festival. He has a tendency to flare up the flames on his back when he’s happy or showing affection, and Dawn tends to inadvertently get caught up in this.
