Physical Description
Mamoru is a man whose Japanese ethnicity reflects a family line that can be traced back to Japan for as many generations as can be traced. His skin tone is more or less average, leaning towards a bit dark if anything. He stands at an average height and his light muscling puts him on the far edges of weight for his height. The muscling is most obvious in his arms and upper chest.
His hair is steel blue in color and cut rather short. He doesn't have any bangs and the v-cut in the back means it doesn't even fall halfway down his neck. His hair color shifts a bit in the light, never appearing lighter than its actual shade but sometimes looking darker. His face is smooth due in main part to his ethnicity.
Mamoru's eyes are a bit narrow, and it gives him a pretty harsh look most of the time. Glad expressions are rare and don't carry well in his eyes. Even at a neutral expression, the man often seems to be analyzing you and not approving. His eyes are the same color as his hair, although rather than seeming darker in some lights they'll sometimes seem lighter.
The man's most common attire is actually a double breasted suit, a reflection of his job as a businessman. He wears dark navy suits with light blue shirts, although his tie is usually black. His black shoes are nothing but sensible and almost always polished. He wears his suit properly, all buttoned up including the cuffs. When not in business attire he tends to dress in black and dark grey. His outfits tend to be very straight laced. He does tend to have a sense of fashion, but its not gaudy by any means. Pants and nice shirts are common, always either matching or in highly complimentary colors. He is pretty much never seen in pale colors.
Weapons
Mamoru doesn't believe in guns, having gotten used to and agreeing with the gun policies in his home world. He does carry a knife, generally in his pocket, but its purely for self defense.
Abilities/Powers
Mamoru is a normal human. He has nothing that could be called an ability or power.
Skills
Mamoru is very good at business. He is efficient and has good work ethic. He has a bit of a knack for leadership skills and does well in the office. Pretty much anything you could expect a businessman to be good at, he is. He can do paperwork, use various computer programs, and is surprisingly quite the motivational speaker. He can also drink most people under the table. Not exactly something to brag about, but it is a skill.
What Mamoru is not good at is personal relations or showing people he cares.
Personality
Mamoru is rather old fashioned. He believes a woman's place is in the home. He treats women at work on equal standing, but only because he is expected to and it is proper in the workplace. He thinks a woman should be good at cooking, cleaning, sewing, the whole nine yards. He believes father knows best and that the man is the head of the household. He's a bit brash and doesn't react all that well to his opinions being challenged. He's far from abusive to his family, though. He isn't above hitting to make his point, but its not severe enough to be abuse, although in our world's America it is quite possible he would have had social services called on him once or twice.
The man is more stubborn than a mule carrying a load of rocks. When he decides something needs to be done, it will happen that way come hell or high water. By sheer willpower alone he has done things like save his company or earn promotions, and this attitude is part of why he's an executive. This lends a heavy part to why he has trouble with personal relations. He reserves his care for a select few people, but those he does care for he feels he knows what is best.
Mamoru is the type of man that let's people know he will protect his loved ones. This has potential to lead to stupidity should the situation arise. Mamoru is somewhat frightening as well, and he's somewhat easily angered. He doesn't like defiance and it is the quickest way to upset him.
History
Mamoru was raised an an extremely traditional Japanese home. He was an only child and the heir to the Shiroi name. He never referred to his parents by anything but the most polite terms. He did well in school and was scolded if he was not in the top 10% of his class. He spent a lot of time in cram schools, and channeled his frustration through sports, which he was rather good at. He attended a business college and graduated with honors although not at the top of his class. He was driving to work one day when he was twenty when a portal just up and opened inside his car, leaving the people of his world scratching their heads about the abandoned care and the vanished man.
He didn't adjust well to Dimension Island at first, flipping pretty badly to say the least. A woman from another Japan understood his panic and came up to him, helping to calm him down. While not completely traditional, she did understand a lot of the old beliefs and was good at seeing the good in people. He spent some time with Tsuki, and two years later they were married. He used his money to buy a small house in Void City in a district focusing on a more traditional Japanese feel due to the common arrival of people from Japan.
About a year later, Tsuki gave birth to a girl that they named Kisa. Tsuki had the most influence on Kisa's raising due to being the one who spent the most time with her. Mamoru was a bit hard on the girl, but the somewhat conflictive parenting styles did her no ill will. What bothered him the most was when Kisa began to develop... senses. The more he learned about her being a sensitive the less he liked it. It was the main source of friction between him and his daughter. It finally came down to him forbidding her to use her powers. If she was going to be married to a good man and not one of the many weirdos the island attracted, she had to be normal. The man was unaware of Tsuki's advice that she only use her powers when her father wasn't around.
During the fifteen years of Kisa's life so far, Mamoru has advanced into a top executive position of his company. He has also been looking for suitors for Kisa. While she is not of legal age to marry (he insists she wait until she is twenty), he is trying to find a man "worthy" so that he can encourage them to get along before that time comes. He is aware Kisa doesn't like the young man he has focused on the most, but believes she will get used to it. He and Tsuki do occasionally fight on this point, but Mamoru makes a point of not doing so when Kisa is nearby.
In actuality, he isn't fond of how much time she is spending away from home lately...
Other
Mamoru is a Yu-Gi-Oh! OC because he is Kisa's father, and Kisa is a semi-OC because she is Kisara's reincarnation. Other than that he's fully an original character. HE IS NOT ABUSIVE. On occasion he'll skirt it, but he's just an overprotective and well meaning man who is far to set in his ways.
I don't have any images of him.
