Physical Description
Honda is a tall Japanese teenager with a very slight tan to his complexion. He has dark brown eyes and hair. His stance is the sort that makes people assume he knows far less about what is going on than he actually does.
His hair is cut short in the back and sides.The front comes forth in a rather molded looking spike. Perspective makes it seem to come out quite a bit, but it actually doesn't go much further than the tip of his nose. He has some very slight sideburns, as well. Honda often doesn't seem quite all there with his eyes. Among all his friends, he tends to look the goofiest the most often. He's pretty terrifying when he's angry due to the contrast.
Honda tends to dress casually, but he's able to dress up if a situation calls for it and pull it off. He isn't adamantly opposed to things like uniforms, but he isn't fond of them. He tends not to have a predictable style other than wearing pants over shorts.
On arrival at the Island, Honda is wearing a white t-shirt and black pants. Over his t-shirt is a light blue jacket that looks like it could be on a more casual suit. Its not buckled, but it has a very long collar, the bottom reaching over halfway down his chest. He has on black boots.
Weapons
Honda doesn't carry any "standard" weapons on him. He's a pretty skilled street brawler, so in standard terms of fighting he generally doesn't need them. He does have a deck of forty Duel Monsters cards. The effects of the Island seem to have caused the cards to be able to manifest the monster spirits known as Ka the way they could be summoned in Ancient Egypt. Not being a common or largely skilled Duelist in his world, he doesn't have a signature monster. However, he does resonate with the Commander card.
Abilities/Powers
Honda is able to summon the Ka from any card from his home world and use the power of his Ba to cast the spells and make use of the traps displayed on the cards. While this is arguably possible for anyone with cards from his homeworld, Honda is a bit weaker at it than many of his friends would be as he isn't a Duelist. Like the others from his home world, he has a few Ka he wouldn't need direct access to his cards to access. However, he isn't yet aware of this. For him, the one that is for certain is Commander.
Skills
Honda doesn't have all that many out of the ordinary skills. He can drive a motorcycle fairly well and he's good at street fighting. He gets fairly good marks in school, so he's at least fairly book smart and he has some athletic skills. When it comes to fighting, he works best with Jounouchi at his side.
Personality
Honda seems quite the goofball. He tends to let things roll off his back. He does have some pretty large pride issues though, and its the quickest way to either get him into a fight or get him to do something stupid. As a rule, its generally the best way to cause both. He's the quickest to crack a stupid joke of most people he hangs out with.
Oddly, he's also pretty stable. He serves well as a foil to his close friend, Jounouchi. He's good about getting serious and helping people calm down. He's loyal as well as pretty patient. He cares a lot about his friends. His negative sides tend to show the most when he's egobashing. He's capable of being rather scary when he needs to be, and he's nowhere near above holding someone up against a wall if he feels they need it.
History
Honda was born to two parents and had a more or less normal childhood. He was born and to this day lives in Domino City. He spent a lot of time out of the house, and he was in elementary school when he began to get involved in gangs. He wasn't deep into them, but he was aware of them and part of one. It was when he was in Junior High he saw the road a teenager named Katsuya Jounouchi was going down, and it caused him to reassess himself a bit. With a serious of fights and related encounters, he managed to pull Jounouchi from the road to ruin and the two became best friends.
That wasn't to say either of them were completely out of the delinquent path. Far from it, they were even still involved in a few gang activities here and there. Honda did a decent job at keeping Jounouchi out of significant trouble, but it didn't stop the teasing towards a teenager named Yuugi Mutou once they entered high school.
Things took a turn for the far better when Jounouchi was teasing Yuugi and ended up stealing a piece of a puzzle from a gold box he had brought to school. It indirectly lead to he and Jounouchi were cornered by Ushio of the "Discipline Committee" and got the crap beaten out of them. Yuugi put himself between Ushio and the two of them. It lead to Jounouchi recovering the puzzle piece he'd stolen. Honda never said it, but he was glad for the decision.
When Jounouchi became friends with Yuugi, Honda pretty much followed suit. While he and Jounouchi still bickered in their usual friendly fashion, they both became good friends with Yuugi and his existing friend, Anzu. Honda was with Yuugi and his friends during the Death-T tournament set up by Kaiba as a psychotic form of revenge. However, one of the "stages" seemed to end with Honda's death. He was fine, but it wasn't revealed until near the end.
After that, a reclusive but popular with the girls teenager named Ryou Bakura came to Domino High. Yuugi worked at befriending him, and Honda was with the group when they visited Bakura who had stopped coming to school due to illness. This lead to the group being put into a "Dark Game" run by "another Bakura". Dark Yuugi is able to save the group, Bakura included.
Honda stows away on the ship to Duelist Kingdom with Anzu after Yuugi is forced to participate due to a man named Pegasus kidnapping his grandfather. Honda's main function at the tournament was support, although he did do quite a bit in his attempts to help Bakura. It was revealed on the island that Dark Bakura was still around. Honda tried to get rid of the Ring housing the spirit of Dark Bakura by throwing it off the top of a castle.
After that, Honda continued to be more of a tagalong than anything else. He was with Yuugi in a virtual RPG run by some members of Kaiba's company. He helped Jounouchi with his sister Shizuka during the Battle City tournament, being there for Jounouchi when it comes up. In a phantom world created by the electronic ghost of Kaiba's brother due to adoption, he manages to lose his body due to a Duel and gets sealed in a robotic monkey, being freed only when the group escapes. He was with Yuugi's friends when they helped his other self regain his memories in the "Memory World" Dark Game.
After exiting the Memory World, Honda was relieved like everyone else. As Kaiba (who had shown up separately) was trying to leave, they saw Bakura stumbling down the stairs into the room they were in. He ran up with Jounouchi to catch Bakura, who had collapsed murmuring about hunger. He was helping Jounouchi take Bakura out of the area when all hell pretty much broke loose.
An earthquake hit with no warning. Parts of the ground began to vanish and the stability of the entire place was collapsing. Jounouchi was trying to keep hold of Bakura. His focus on that meant he didn't notice the ground vanish beneath him, or the fact he'd accidentally knocked Honda sideways. When Honda fell through the many portals in the area, he was already out from hitting his head...

Honda's canon uses a blend of the first arc of the manga, the original anime, and the Duel Monsters/second series anime, all Japanese. Most of it is from Duel Monsters.
