Yes. I’m totally taking advantage of this multi-dimensional business and submitting another Edd. :3 Fwahahah.
Don’t worry, Angel Edd remains. We’re just bringing a new one into the fray.
Full Name: Eddward Marion Duling
Nicknames: Edd, Double D, Sockhead, Hybrid
Age: 17
Height: 5’8” (human), 5’11” (transformed)
Weight: 125 lbs. (human), 142 lbs. (transformed)
Gender: Male
Race: Edd was born human, but after being bitten and infected on two separate occasions, he is currently a Werewolf/Vampire Hybrid. The werewolf blood is older, therefore more prominent.
Alliance: Good
Home: Peach Creak USA
Franchise: Night of the Were-Ed (EEnE Original Comic, Post Solar Eclipse, Pre All Hallow’s Eve [this may change to Post All Hallow’s Eve at a later time])
Physical Description: In his human form, he is of medium height, light skin, and lanky build. He usually remains consistent in his dress of an orange, yellow-sleeved tee, indigo shorts, long red socks, blue and beige sneakers, and his trademark black, white-striped ski cap, heavily flopped in the back. This pulls back most of his dark grey hair (hey, he doesn’t like it to get in his face, is all), and generally fits his overall round facial features. His blue eyes are clear, but sometimes reflect a wistful longing of sorts; for simpler times, or an escape from the ignorance bliss of human consciousness, it’s hard to say. Also, it’s hard to see at most times, but he has a large scar on his right shoulder from his first werewolf bite.
It is usually rare for him to transform, and depending on the conditions of the moon, his appearance varies ever so slightly. On a typical full moon, however, he becomes something not quite human, not quite werewolf, not quite vampire… something in the middle, as if the bloods are clashing within him and fighting for dominance. His traits are often contradicting; traces of reddish brown fur, but only lining key areas, not the whole body, feet with clawed, fanned toes, but with heel support maintained large, doggish chest, but human legs (no distortion in calves), both downright and upright stance capabilities, furry ears, but shape heavily elongated, enflamed nose, but only in half a muzzle… traits that are often maintained, however, included slight height and muscle growth, a wolf tail, heavily lengthened hair that easily peeks out from under the cap, sharp, yellowing teeth with elongated canines, and, most prominent of all, glowing yellow eyes with red iris and slanted pupils. He is capable of speech in this form, but with a distorted, two-toned voice.
Weapons: His body IS a weapon once transformed. XD He prefers to claw instead of bite, despite his shortened claws and heavy jaw strength. Perhaps it is a natural response in his wishes to preserve life as best he can… especially those of the one he cares for.
Besides, his pal Eddy is more the hunter type, and is more likely to appreciate weapons.
Abilities/Powers: It’s already been implied that he transforms. XD He has yet to master willful transforming, however; he doesn’t even know if he CAN, or is just governed by Mother Luna’s strong pull. He has yet to find any information online or in local libraries; none of those places have old-enough texts.
Obviously, in his transformed state he gains increased strength, agility and stamina, as well as heightened senses, especially of smell. He’s only transformed twice in his life so far, though; he has no idea what other supernatural phenomenon will bring out in him. Oh, what fun it will be for him to discover this.
For the most part, he HAS mastered willful control of himself (probably the vampire’s influence helps this), but that’s not to say he may not lose control in unfamiliar predicaments.
Skills: He still, of course, remains a little useful as a human, with high intelligence (not to mention common sense), his passion for building and tinkering (he constructed his own computer), and conducting research. His interests have shifted slightly over the years, from Scientific to Paranormal Studies.
Personality: Like his by-now infamous DC counterpart, he tends to well-meaning, diplomatic, righteous, and extremely protective of those he cares for. He is usually the one to take the reigns of a situation, like an alpha wolf, and he’ll do his best to plan out the best outcome with the least causalities; tricky when you’re involved with, and technically are one of, the most depraved and vicious creatures.
However, experiencing pure hell in his maddening transformations have led him to mellow out, and in most predicaments he’ll remain calm and collected, almost disturbingly so, and often gain many doubtful and incredulous looks.
Only when he loses control of the situation does he truly begin to panic, and even then he’ll do his best to keep calm until it seems the world will end. Even so, as far-fetched as his plans can be, things always seem to turn out alright. He has yet to lose a friend; that is his greatest fear, to lose someone close to him, to fail in his task of protecting him with the blessing, or curse, that had been given to him. He would rather give his own, tainted soul up for the sake of his loved ones.
But as sagacious as he is, he more or less tends to get lost in his thoughts when he grows reflective; he has periods of insomnia following the moon’s cycle, and a wistful longing will grip at his heart as he gazes at the full moon for hours upon end.
History: When a supernatural beast entered the cul-de-sac Eddward grew up in, the lives of him and his friends would change forever.
As they were making preparations for yet another scam, Ed encountered a sick dog while fetching materials. When he attempted to bring comfort to the animal, it bit his hand and dashed away. Double D patched up the wound, but Ed still felt ill, and was sent home. That was the first infection; that night, Ed went through his first transformation, losing control and terrorizing the cul-de-sac.
Cornering his friends at the junkyard, Ed lunged at his friend, petrified in fear, and Double D was the next to become infected. Ed would awaken the next day, discover this, and be wracked with guilt; he still holds some of that today, though Double D has issued no blame or hatred.
Led by Rolf, the other children planned to kill the beast who initially infected Ed in order to break the curse on both of them. As the Full Moon was still high, the two were locked deep in Ed’s basement for their own safety, but their wolf’s instinct told them they were needed, and so they broke out, transformed, and dashed into the night.
And it was good they did; the beast violently fought back and was about to claim another victim before a challenge was issued by the two werewolves it had given its blood to. With a stronger conviction, they were able to remain mostly in control (though Double D had to reprimand Ed when he almost attacked the kids again), and the fight was swift. As they pinned the beast down, Eddy rushed in, armed with Jimmy’s pure silver cake cutter, and plunged it into the beast’s heart, breaking their curse and returning tranquility to the cul-de-sac.
Four years passed without incident. Ed and Double D only experienced bouts of insomnia following the patterns of the full moon, but this was only evidence that despite their broken curse, the blood was very much still running through their veins.
This fact was brought to light when Double D was attacked in one of his nightly strolls. Usually it was typical for Marie Kanker to leap on her self-proclaimed boyfriend in attempts to garner his affection, but this night she seemed especially crazed, eyes red, pupils thinned, and canines long and sharp, ready to plunge into his neck. It seemed like an innate response, for when she realized what she was doing, she quickly threw Double D painfully to the side and dashed away. To satisfy her heightened thirst, instinct drove her to Rolf’s farm, leaving her gruesome trail where the son of a shepherd could discover it in horror the next morning.
After the events four years previous, unrest instantly festered. Though part of Double D knew what had happened, he resolved to research the phenomenon while the others prepped for a possible confrontation. He quickly discovered why vampires were here; that day was the day of the Solar Eclipse, which would force out his and Ed’s werewolf blood, causing their transformation. Werewolves and vampires have a long, bloody history of confrontation, because their blood naturally attracts each other, especially in their pure, transformed forms. They have come to feast on him and Ed while their bloods were ripe.
Knowing that at least Marie was infected, Double D informed the others and left them to their preparations, venturing into the trailer park in attempts to speak with her. After some protest, to which she didn’t want to attack him again, she agreed to let him in if he kept his distance, and told her of the head vampire who had infected her and her sisters for this day. It was clear that he was using them, knowing full well of the bloody battle that would ensue, letting the sisters take the fall while he picked up the spoils for himself afterwards.
And so, Double D pulled her into an embrace, instructing her to bite and infect him. He hypothesized that with both bloods present, he would be able to keep himself in check and not launch into a frenzy upon transforming. Though painfully, she did so, and his transformation afterwards was painful and ugly, but when he spoke to her instead of mow her down, they agreed that this plan was a stretch, but heading in a right direction, and they hurried to join the ensuing battle.
Once again, the battle was quick and bloody. Ed was pinned down by Lee and May, and the head vampire heavily injured Double D. But Marie fought her temptations with fierce willpower, knocking her sisters out and leaving the head vampire wide open. This time armed with Plank carved as a stake, and dressed in the hunter’s smock for dramatic effect, Eddy staked the vampire, breaking the Kankers’ curse just as the Eclipse was finished, and the injured werewolves shifted back into human form.
But thanks to Marie’s interference, injuries were not fatal. The only funeral held was for Rolf’s dear chicken Gustad. Things calmed down and slipped back to normal again. After their week-long disappearance, the Kankers were back to their amorous approaches, which were met with the Eds’ usual reluctance… for the most part.
While Double D gained another unnatural blood, he also gained something more. At last, he began to return Marie’s affections, which they solidified with a passionate kiss the next full moon.
The summer continued to crawl on afterwards, and as Double D continued his research into the paranormal, he came across the prospect of multiple dimensions. Ed, the resident sci-fi junkie, showed him a few films pertaining to this concept, and it continued to intrigue him. But he got more than he bargained for when his computer, almost as if responding to his constant searches on the subject, opened up and pulled him in.
Other: We’ll decide later how Dimensional Clash and its strange goings-on affect his body. This place is effed up enough that anything will be believable. XD
