Minato's position wasn't the issue. To be precise, it wasn't the issue with the scarf. Due to the twist involved in the fall, the tie was at the right of Minato's neck. Ryoji was having to put his arms to either side of his right arm to reach it, and it meant his dominant right arm was the most restrained. If Minato lowered his right arm, Ryoji would still have to deal with his left blocking his right. It wouldn't help much for Minato to lower his left. And he sure as hell couldn't lower both without them looking even more compromised, despite that possibly being the sanest way to get the damn thing undone.
"J-just a little..." Ryoji stuttered.
If they were back in their apartment, this would have hardly been a problem. And it would have probably gone in an entirely different direction. Pressed against each other to undo the tie? Not like they would have had an audience to worry about. Not positive the tie would have been undone, either. At this thought Ryoji somehow managd to blush more, and the damn water underneath him due to how he'd sat felt a bit warmer than it should. Minato wasn't exactly cold at the moment either.
Why the hell had he used such a tight knot!?

Well, on the bright side, they certainly weren't cold anymore. Still, this was more than a bit uncomfortable and embarrassing. Minato looked at the position they were in, and then at how much trouble Ryoji was having untying the scarf with this position and finally decided there were necessary sacrifices that had to be made.
"Please get this thing off soon," Minato said, and then moved his left arm so that it wasn't on top of Ryoji's shoulder. This caused him to fall forward for a moment, which, due to their close proximity, made his and Ryoji's faces touch for a bit more than a moment. He pulled away, and really, Minato was blushing more than a shoujo protagonist at this point.
"S-Sorry..." Minato said, and tried to balance himself a bit better without impeding Ryoji any further. He made a mental note. Never do this again.

Ryoji was jerking at the scarf a bit. It was about halfway done, and he was beginning to relax a bit, when Minato told him to get it off soon. He looked up to tell him he was working on it. Rather than being able to get words out, though, he was met with a rather unexpected kiss. Well, no, he could see Minato was at least as surprised as he was due to his wide open eyes, but odds were observers wouldn't see it so innocently.
He shook his head rapidly when Minato apologized. Well now they were only avoiding face contact because Minato had his face to the side of Ryoji's. Due to Minato pulling his arms down to not imped Ryoji, he was also all but sitting on the other teenager's left leg. Ryoji swallowed hard and finally managed to get the scarf undone, pulling it to the side with a bit in the way of flourish and pushing Minato up to let him know he was done.
"S-sorry..." Ryoji echoed Minato's earlier words.

Minato gave a sigh of relief as he was finally released from the grip of Ryoji's scarf. He ended up falling back on the ground and landing in a bit of snow from the push, which pretty much soaked the seat of his pants. He blinked and gave a laugh before standing up and brushing himself off.
"Let's not do that again," Minato said. He stood up and sat down on the bench next to Ryoji before looking around at the rest of the clearing. It was pretty empty now, and while that could maybe be excuse by the fact it was getting later in the day, Minato had a feeling it had something to do with their "predicament" earlier.
"So... do you want to walk around the park some more?" Minato asked after a small pause. "It's up to you, I really don't care what we do," he added hastily.

Ryoji had actually gotten to his feet right after helping Minato off him. He really hadn't thought that previous action through. Even if he hadn't yanked Minato on top of him, he would still have wet pants. He pulled off the jacket Minato had given him and spread it on the bench with the outside facing down. He looked up at Minato and gave an awkward smile as he said to not do it again. They sat down at the same time.
Ryoji looked over at Minato as the blue haired teenager asked if he wanted to walk around the park more. Before quickly insisting only if Ryoji wanted to. If they got up, the seats of their pants were probably going to freeze. Then again, the chance of that was pretty likely even if they stayed sitting.
What did he want to do? It was Christmas, being out like this probably made it a date. Not that he'd ever had on on Christmas. False memories had made him busy due to his "parents" and the truth was far worse. He hadn't been able to do anything on Christmas last year, from being quickly transferred out of Gekkoukan... and the worse truth. He hadn't even been able to run around making dates... that would have been about twenty eight hours, wouldn't it have? In any case, Ryoji had gotten oddly silent, the scarf still in his hands and his brain quite clearly elsewhere.

There was a bit of silence from Ryoji after Minato asked his question. Minato looked down at his lap. He'd made things awkward again, hadn't he? Before he'd always been good at choosing the right words, somehow making everything better, but here? He just kept screwing up. Even on a date like this, which was what it technically was.
He looked over at the still silent Ryoji. There was an expression on his face, like his mind was elsewhere, and he still hadn't put the scarf back on. Minato frowned and leaned over a bit.
"You feeling alright?" Minato asked.

Ryoji jerked out of his own thoughts as Minato spoke again. He gave a wide smile, which well concealed the way he was berating his own thoughts. That was in the past, and it didn't matter anymore. He stood up and lifted the scarf up, putting it around the back of Minato's neck and throwing the longer end over the front, pulling the shorter end to make it snug. He angled his head upwards so he could look Minato in the eyes due to leaning over.
"For our reputations, we suck at this," he teased. It was pretty unlikely Minato wouldn't get the reference to the legends they'd probably left at Gekkoukan. Or at least Ryoji, Souji had proven Minato was considered dead. Didn't do much for technically negative reputations. Ryoji stood up and offered his hand, "I say we see if there's anything at the movies. I can already feel my pants freezing, and you're wetter than I am."

Minato blinked as the scarf was placed around his neck. He looked over at Ryoji as he made his comment about their reputations, and gave a laugh. The two of them had quite the reputations back at Gekkoukan, after all. Minato took Ryoji's hand and stood up.
"Yeah, let's get out of the cold," Minato said. Hopefully there'd be something good at the movies. He pulled the jacket Ryoji had laid down off of the bench and handed it to him.

Ryoji took the coat. He shook a bit of the moisture off before pulling it on. He zipped it up for the first time that day, missing the fact that would have been the simpler solution earlier. He glanced around the area, noticing for the first time how much emptier it was. Had that been their fault? He walked up as close to Minato as they would have been walking still tied together and stayed there as they walked forward.
