"Yolanda..." Eddward watched the Wizard's face as he recollected. Seeing him in a brand new light was quite refreshing.
"That all sounds amazing," he truthfully replied, remembering that the Wizard came from Raz's world. But he didn't know whether the Raz HE knew was the SAME Raz from the Wizard's dimension... what a confusing paradox this had all turned into. "It's not too different from the ventures I've had as a Super Child myself... defeating criminals, meeting new people, visiting exotic places..."

The Wizard chuckled. "A Psychonaut's adventures are a bit... different, I'd suspect, than anything you ran into as a Super Child." He admitted. "No less difficult, mind you; they were just a different... flavor, I suppose you would say."
The Wizard was quick to move on-- maybe his mind just moved faster than other peoples'. "I wasn't able to stay with the Psychonauts. Mentally, I was top-notch, but... physically..." the Wizard chuckled. "I only helped them in a few emergency cases. I was a sort of... reserve Psychonaut, I suppose."

Eddward looked up, nodding in understanding. Being a Super Child required physical training on his part... such was probably not true for a psychic. "It's sometimes hard for me to realize a time when I was physically weak... or at least incapable of any physical prowess. So much has happened..."
He shook his head, finding himself smiling at the Wizard for once, openly. "So... what kind of work did you do in your position?"

"This and that; I wasn't exactly a specialist." The Wizard admitted, his arms crossed in front of his chest. "But I could... adapt, I suppose. I learned quickly. They didn't want to risk me on too many missions, so they only used me when the jobs were related to my first assignment."
The Wizard thought for a while. "Halloween, though... that was always an interesting time..."

This was so strange, the two of them were talking like two normal people for the first time. Eddward made sure again the door was shut firmly behind him, lest someone barge in and ruin the moment.
His voice lowered slightly when he realized Marion was asleep, but he was intrigued as ever. "What... happened during Halloween?"

The Wizard seemed surprised. "Hmm?" He asked. "Nothing. Nothing happened, Eddward. If you're really curious, find someone else from my dimension and interrogate them. Better yet, go to library; they have information on pretty much everything there."
The Wizard was silent as always. "Eddward... I have an important question I want to ask you... how do you intend to stop me?"

Eddward's smile soon fell. Well... that was nice while it lasted.
"...that's... what we've been discussing for the past few days," he sighed, suddenly reminded of how tired he was before. "Frankly, we're at a loss at the moment... but we'll continue to pull our resources until we find a solution?"

The Wizard turned to look out the window.
"Eddward... I will be at my most vulnerable during my invasion of the Prime World. During that time, for a brief five seconds, all my defenses will be down, and any psychic will be able to teleport into my inner sanctum. And only oner person will be able to finish me..."
The Wizard turned, eyeing Eddward from under the brim of his hat.
"Would you be able to? Or would you hesitate?"

Eddward stood agawk. How generous of his nemesis, to reveal his weakness quite indiscreetly. What they had spent days trying to figure out was just revealed to him right then and there.
Any psychic... well, he certainly knew which person he intended to enter at his most vulnerable moment. He was no psychic, but perhaps he could recieve help from Raz and Michiko on that front. The means did not matter. The more pressing matter was, indeed, whether he would garner the strength to carry it out at all.
His gaze dropped down to the slumbering child in his arms, his beautiful little baby girl full of promise and life's fire... and remembering the cold, lifeless world of the Wizard's making, one that would dim this flame that he swore he would always uphold and protect...
"...I will," he firmly replied, bringing his gaze back up to the Wizard from under his own hat. "And I will not hesitate." He said nothing more; surely his counterpart already knew his stance, there was no need to repeat himself.

The Wizard was quiet. He seemed to approve his alternate self's decision. But he looked Eddward in the eye and revealed what the truth.
"Eddward... if you killed me, New Babylon will crash into the ground. Everyone I'd saved from doomed worlds will die."

Eddward only faltered for a moment. "...only another complication we'll have to work into our formula," he replied. "We'll figure out a way to help those you have 'saved.'"

The Wizard was silent.
"I wonder if you'll be able to..." He said, half to himself. Without a word he turned from the window he had been staring out and looked Edd in the eye. "I wonder what will happen to them when they suddenly regain everything they've lost. The shock might overcome them. Are you willing to risk that?"
The Wizard didn't wait for an answer. Without pause, he marched past Eddward and, in an act quite un-Wizardlike...
... opened the door into the other room.
"Good-bye, Eddward," He said rather loudly; loud enough for someone to hear him, perhaps. "It was a pleasure talking with you." And, with that, the Wizard calmly began to walk out of the House of Blue Leaves.

"What are you, a dumbass?" Masahiro walked out, looking irked. "Just hearing your voice, I cast a sleep spell on Felix so he wouldn't burn the house down trying to kill you. You know, for our worst enemy, Wizard, you can be quite stupid... although I guess it would be genius if your plan WAS to get Felix to burn the house down, but I digress." The angel sighed.

The Wizard looked Masahiro in the eye. He was silent for a moment.
"I came here to have a pleasant talk with Eddward." He said simply. "If I wanted Felix to burn the house down, he would have done it already."
There was no confidence in the Wizard's voice; he sounded as if he was simply stating a fact. All the emotion he had used when speaking with Eddward had vanished.
"Though, I suppose I would have liked to meet Felix; he is Marion's... mother? Father? It's a bit confusing. I was only trying to be civil." The Wizard was suddenly in the very middle of the room.
"And you think I'm your worst enemy, but that's only because Trump hasn't made his move. And you haven't even met some of the shadows that linger at the farthest corners of the Omniverse." The Wizard chuckled.
"There's a being so evil and powerful that even saying his name can strike utter terror in people who have never heard of him... he's the type of person I'm trying to stop."

The rest of the Group had to do a double-take. Wait. The Wizard was the room. The Wizard was----WHAT!?!
Eddy had every urge to beat this guy into a pulp for showing his face again, but Ed wisely held him back. As the Wizard spoke, the shorter one gave the other a incredulous glare, to which he motioned to their third friend.
Eddward found himself... saddening. Well... the casual conversation was good while it lasted. Why didn't the Wizard just teleport out and avoid this conflict? Was it to reveal information to everyone? Was it to be cruel to him after the, quite honestly, lovely conversation they had? Or was it a subtle reminder to not be as sentimental about all this, to strengthen his conviction?
All things considered, he was just glad Felix was forced into sleep. It would've been a lot nastier otherwise.
"...Is that so," Fletcher muttered in response, having obviously been informed on the Wizard standpoint. "So you would consider yourself the lesser of two evils. Hmmp."
