Ryoji's eyes widened at the explanation. So... Souji was Izanagi? He winced a little as the thoughts clicked into place. Given the situation, it was possible they were lucky he still looked like Souji. He was still acting like Souji too, though. None of it was as clear as it had once been, but it was quite a bit different then how it had worked with him. He wasn't sure just how, but he knew it was.
Teddie, on the other hand, looked more than a bit confused. Souji was acting the same, but he'd begun to develop a strong dislike of Izanagi. He seemed to be having trouble processing it, but after a few moments he gave an exaggerated shake and smiled.
"Sensei is Sensei!"
Ryoji paused for a moment, and then made what was perhaps a surprisingly lucid observation, "So... that means you're with Izanami, right?"

Souji smiled. Yeah, he was still him. He had been worried about that when he'd realized he had to merge with Izanagi, but things had worked out in his favor. And then Ryoji spoke, and Souji's face suddenly flushed bright red.
"W-Wait, it's not like that! I-I mean, yeah, she came over to my apartment for Christmas, but that doesn't mean I l-like her back," Souji stuttered out. Minato had been about to ask something else, but Souji's stuttered reaction to Ryoji's question made him drop it. Yeah, this was Souji. Teddie was right, Souji was Souji. He definitely hadn't changed.
"Y'know, that would explain why you freaked out so much when Adachi killed her," Minato mused to himself. Souji shot a glare at Minato.
"Y'know, just because Ryoji looks like a teenager now doesn't mean it's not still pedophilia, Minato."
"....that was a low blow, Souji."

Ryoji looked rather amused at Souji's reaction. The teenager hadn't struck him as that chaste until just now. He had put a hand over his mouth and was trying not to laugh. Whatever Souji was, who he was seemed not to have changed in the least. He probably would have lost the fight against the laughter had Souji not said what he did. The laughter dropped and he looked angry.
"Just because I wasn't made like a normal human doesn't mean I'm not really seventeen!" Ryoji shouted, "I'm not under age!"
Teddie, meanwhile, had looked a little worried about what Ryoji had said. Souji reacted even worse then he had before over it. He didn't want to cause problems, but he still didn't like Izanami. For what she'd done. He seemed to come up with an idea, but he didn't get it out because Ryoji yelled at Souji.

Souji flinched at Ryoji's yell. Okay, he had to admit, that had been a bit of a low blow. However, he realized something at Ryoji's yell, and instead of retorting back, he gave a low chuckle.
"So you two have had sex, then?"
Minato blinked, and his expression changed to one that rather well matched Ryoji's. "Souji, what the hell!"
Souji sighed. "Sorry. I shouldn't have said that. That was mean." He looked a little guilty. "...I'm really sorry," he repeated. He hadn't meant to get that defensive over Izanami. Was he that infatuated with her?

Ryoji looked even angrier at the chuckle. He'd lifted a finger and was about ready to retort when Souji said what he said. He paused with his mouth open and blinked several times.
"H-hey, how...?"
He seemed less angry now and more confused. What part of what he'd just said implied that!? He wasn't really angry that Souji knew, just confused. It created a rather amusing parallel, because it was almost as if the anger had jumped from Ryoji and to Minato.
Teddie just looked confused. Sometimes the evidence that he wasn't a teenage human was stronger than others. The conversation had seemed to get quite a bit derailed though. Teddie was too glad to see Souji (and confused) to remember the whole Persona issue, and Ryoji was still trying to figure out how Souji had made his leap.

Souji looked from the simmering Minato to the now very confused looking Ryoji. That had been a bit of a leap.
"Well, you specifically brought up not being under-age. The only reason anyone really brings that up in any conversation is when they're talking about sex for some reason," Souji explained. "You wouldn't have bothered bringing the under-age part up if you'd just kissed or something like that."
There were other elements, too. At this point, Souji was pretty sure that Ryoji was technically about 13 now, just like how Minato should technically have been about 20 or so had he not died and come back two years later. And 13 was age of consent for Japan as a whole, not counting various prefectural laws. Didn't change the fact that had been a rather large leap there.
"....can we just drop the subject?" Minato growled. He was still a little pissed off at Souji after the comment he'd made.

Ryoji didn't agree with that. He'd said that in response to the pedophilia comment, after all. Which was an issue of being under age. Did that mean Souji had suspected it already? He supposed the walls weren't the thickest things in the world and they were on the same floor... he might have found the fact that someone might have heard them mildly amusing despite the slight embarassment had Minato not still been so pissed.
"Hey, relax Minato," Ryoji said, forcing the light hearted tone a bit. He winked at the blue haired teenager, "Not like it wouldn't have come up eventually."

"I suppose..." Minato mumbled. Souji frowned. He would really have to apologize to Minato again later, when he simmered down a bit more
"Anyways, is that all? I've gotta call Jeff and explain why I didn't come in today," Souji said. There were a couple other things he needed to do, but first and foremost he needed to not lose his job.

Ryoji looked a bit like his point had been missed by Minato. He gave a sort of grimacing smile. Teddie looked like he was going to follow Souji out. Ryoji looked between the three.
"Oh, wait Souji! You told Minato you couldn't use Persona anymore!"
Teddie stopped and looked towards Ryoji. He was right. Teddie looked back at Souji.
"Does it have something to do with that Velvet Room place?" Teddie asked.

Souji nodded. Right, he hadn't explained that part yet. He blinked at Teddie's mention of the Velvet Room. "How do you know about that?"
"It came up," Minato explained. "So I explained it to them."
"It's unrelated," Souji stated. "Gods can't have Persona. In fact, the whole reason I broke apart before was because Izanami granted a Persona to me. When I merged with Izanagi again, I lost that Persona, and the Wild Card with it."
"So you're..."
"Completely and absolutely Personaless. An Evoker would do nothing, my Shadow would just disappear into nothing, and I don't even have a tarot card to summon with anymore," Souji said. "I'm not even sure I'd be able to manifest a Shadow anymore, and I don't intend on testing that either. One time was enough."

Ryoji seemed a bit surprised at this. He stopped for a moment as the conversation went on. So... had that been when the split occurred? He'd been sure he hadn't been free until Nyx was defeated. Really, he hadn't expected to get out of that alive. He shook his head to clear his thoughts.
"You can still fight, right?" Ryoji asked. He rolled his eyes and gave an extremely elaborate shrug as he smiled, "I mean, I swear you can't pass half a week around here without something going haywire."
It was possible that statement reminded Souji of the man outside...

Souji nodded. "I can still fight, yeah. I'm not powerless." Now that he was put back together, he wasn't so confident in his skills with a sword now, though. He needed to look into buying a spear... and the only weapon shop he knew of belonged to Himitsu, who, last he checked, was dead. Plus, the shop had been avoiding him the last time he'd gone looking for it.
Something occurred to him at Ryoji's words. He looked toward Ryoji and Minato. "That reminds me, there was a blue haired Egyptian man outside the complex earlier. I think he was a god's avatar, but I don't know what god. Do you know anything about him?"
Minato shook his head. "I heard they found Dark Malik yesterday and handed off a couple Millennium Items to Abel. But nothing about any Egyptian god avatars."

Ryoji looked at Minato as Souji asked his question. Minato didn't know either. He looked back towards Souji an blew his cow lick out of where it had fallen to his eyes.
"I know a decent bit about the Ancient Egyptian pantheon, but I haven't heard about anything like that lately," Ryoji said. He seemed to realize they may not know why he knew about it that much, "Ah, that pantheon had a lot of dealings with the Greek one, at least historically."
He didn't go into why that would be important. He didn't really want to talk about it, but anyone that had paid attention to the situation with him and Minato would have a good guess. And Minato had told Souji about his friends.
Teddie couldn't think of anything to input.

Souji could tell Ryoji didn't want to talk about it, and decided to drop the subject there. "I'll ask Atem about it. He probably knows more than we do."
He yawned. "...I should go. I still need to call Jeff, and I need to keep that job... I'm already in hot water after Amaterasu cut down the door, and the replacement door came out of my salary, too...." He grumbled a bit as he turned to leave. He stopped just as he was heading out of the door.
"Hey, Minato? How good are you with a spear?"
"...I'm okay with one," Minato said. He looked a bit confused. "Why do you ask?"
"Just wondering." And with that, Souji headed out of the door and toward his own apartment.
