And now Takahashi was very confused. He'd expected the kid to start acting differently. Or at the very least start trying to defend himself. But no, he'd admitted it, looked like he was about to start crying, and was babbling on about someone else and not wanting anyone to die. Takahashi's thoughts shot back to what Adachi had said just before pushing him in that time. He'd mentioned an "Anpu."
"Who the hell are you talking about, kid?" Takahashi asked. "Who made you kill those people?" He took a careful step toward Bakura, but at the same time was on his guard. If the kid attacked, he'd fight back. He'd dealt with enough crazy teenagers in his lifetime to know not to underestimate them.

Internally, Anpu was grinning ear from ear. If he'd shown it to the outside world, it wouldn't have been pleasant. He had Takahashi right where he wanted him. Bakura looked terrified as Takahashi took a step towards him, and he seemed to fight taking a step back. He looked at an angle towards the ground and gave a hard enough swallow those paying attention could see the lump pass down his throat.
He seemed to be wincing for a moment before quickly jerking his head towards Takahashi and lifting up both his hands. It wasn't aggressive in the least, and the hands were up near his shoulders due to the angle. They were in tight fists, tight enough that Bakura's knuckles were whiter than his already somewhat pale skin. His voice as he spoke was nothing short of begging.
"You have to lock me up! I... I don't know... I can't hold him back very long!"

Well now Takahashi had no idea what the fuck to do. This kid was quite likely insane. No, more than quite likely. At the very least he had some kind of multiple personality thing going on, and the other personality was still fucking insane.
"Ryou... kun?" Yamada asked hesitantly.
"By 'him', do you mean 'Anpu'?" Takahashi asked. It was a bit of a leap, but it was all he had to go by. Christ. If this kid did have dissassociative personalty disorder or something like that, and that other personality was that Anpu thing, then this kid had been the one who had made Adachi try to kill him. Jesus christ.

Bakura looked pretty scared. He looked rather worried as well. Something about how he was standing screamed a question as to why Takahashi wasn't doing what he asked. Well, he would do that, wouldn't he? Anpu remembered how Bakura was more than happy to be put behind bars to prevent his body being used to cause more harm. When Takahashi asked the question, he looked a little startled. Anpu knew it had to be Adachi. That explained some of Takahashi's actions as well, now that he thought about it.
Bakura lifted a hand to his head and covered his face with the lower half of it. He still seemed to be holding back panicked tears. After a long pause he gave a quick nod and spoke without lifting his head or the hand.
"P-please... I can't hold him back forever..." Bakura looked up and lowered his hand enough to show his face, "You have to lock me up before he can kill someone else!"

Takahashi sighed. So it was like he thought. Either way, he'd planned on locking up this kid anyways, but asking to be locked up? That was a new one on him. It was kinda a shame, though. This kid's Bakura personality really did seem like a nice kid, but the Anpu personality was a murderer. Alternate personalities or no, Bakura was a murderer, and it was Takahashi's job to arrest murderers.
"Alright," Takahashi finally said. "Yamada, get ready to fill out some paperwork. I'm gonna try to find this kid a cell."
He looked back toward Bakura and put a hand on his shoulder. "It'll be alright, kid. We'll get you some help." Because Takahashi was going to recommend this kid to an insane asylum. He had a confession, but he still didn't have his one bit of evidence anymore. But he did have enough evidence to get this kid somewhere where he couldn't hurt anyone.
Adachi, this is why you don't take in random kids from off the street here, Takahashi berated in his head. Adachi just didn't get that fact, did he?

Internally, Anpu was facepalming. First there was a long pause where the idiotic officer didn't know what to do. He'd overestimated the intelligence of this modern world's criminal system again. Even if they didn't knock him out, they should have at least stuck a pair of handcuffs on him. He was going to have to look into the justice system as it existed now. The man then walked forward and put a hand on his shoulder, telling him it was going to be alright. They were going to "get him some help".
It would be easier to run if he let himself get arrested. The issue was he didn't particularly feel like being locked up. The direction he'd chosen to play this meant Takahashi's suspicion of him wasn't mere paranoia. There were witnesses, after all. The options were weighed and Anpu's decision was shown by his next action. It would also decide for him how much of a fool this officer was. Killing didn't seem likely, but if the man had any brains he'd at least cuff him...
Bakura's stance shifted and in a rather fluid motion Anpu had Takahashi's wrist grabbed in his left hand and pinched at a pressure point. The former Thief King's right hand had shot forward and deftly pulled the top off the man's holster and his fingers around the handle of the gun. He narrowed his eyes and gave a smirk at the man, having to angle his head just a touch due to Takahashi's somewhat shorter height.
"You don't listen very well, do you...?" Anpu pulled out the gun from the holster and spun it around in his hand, flicking off the safety as he did so. He applied a bit of pressure to the man's right wrist before looking at the now panicking members of the station, "I'm not unfamiliar with this type of weapon, I assure you."
Now if this fool has any brains he'll try and bring me under control. I've made a point of leaving his left hand free, so ambidextrous or not he has an opening. If he can't even use the brains the gods gave him to restrain me now, I'll shoot someone for the waste of time...

Takahashi was mentally berating himself as Bakura acted. That had been the kid's aim, hadn't it? He'd made the same mistake he knew Adachi had to have made at least once. And now not only did the kid have him by one hand, but he had his gun. Several officers began to panic.
"I'm sure you're not," Takahashi said with a bitter smile. From behind him, there was the click of a gun. Yamada had pulled out his own revolver.
"Let go of Takahashi-san, Ryou!" Yamada yelled. "Put the gun down, now!"
Takahashi grinned, and then used the momentary distraction he knew Yamada's actions would cause to quickly take his left hand and slam it down on the hand Bakura was grasping, forcing him to let go. With his hand free, he punched him in the stomach before grasping his arm and pulling him around so that his arm was restrained behind him. Takahashi put his other arm in front of Bakura's neck.
"I've been in this business longer than you've been alive, kid," Takahashi growled. "I know all of the usual tricks."

Well well, wasn't that an impressive little show of bravery? Had his plans been actually to get away, Anpu would have put Takahashi between himself and Yamada. Quite possibly also pointed the gun at him, everyone else in the building seemed about ready to have an accident. It was really a pity that to set such a precident, he had to let Takahashi keep the upper hand. Anpu jerked a bit and put a firm grip on the gun as he turned it towards Yamada, his eyes turning away from Takahashi.
The officer then finally proved to not be a complete idiot with the opening granted to him and Anpu had to admit that chop was rather noticable. Anpu made no real effort to keep the grip, which he honestly wasn't sure he could have kept had he tried. His hand opened up in response and the next reaction was a sharp exhale of breath as Takahashi got a rather admiral blow to his stomach. Takahashi then grabbed his wrist and yanked it behind his back. The gun fell out of Anpu's hands from the awkward angle and hit the ground, its angle of landing putting it about half a step behind Takahashi as the man looped his arm around Anpu's neck. Anpu put up some resistance by shooting up his left hand and grabbing at the arm Takahashi had around his throat.
"Let..." Anpu gasped for breath. Damn, that punch had knocked a fair bit of wind out of him, "Let me go you bastard!"
He dug his nails into Takahashi's lower arm and seemed to be trying to bring his right foot down on Takahashi's own.
It's rather amusing how in convinced he's in control of this situation he thinks he is... Anpu would have laughed it it wouldn't have blown the set up he had created.

Takahashi didn't let Anpu's stomps cause him to trip up, nor did he allow the way he was digging his nails into his arm to bother him. Takahashi only continued to restrain Anpu. He leaned his head down so that he could speak into Anpu's ear.
"Bakura Ryou, you're under arrest for the murder of Nakajima Sakura, as well as the assault of a police officer, the theft of police materials, and theft of an officer's weapon," Takahashi growled. He looked up toward the other officers. "Yamada, don't move from that spot! Kimura, go get some handcuffs!"
The second man Takahashi had spoken to nodded and ran back into the back room to go get some handcuffs. Everyone else seemed nervous still, but it was obvious Takahashi had taken command of things here.

Anpu let out an actual growl as Yamada listed the charges. He tried to twist the arm free, ignoring the pain that shot up his arm as he did so. He seemed to be attempting to jerk at unpredictable intervals to try and catch Takahashi off guard. It wasn't working. He let out a rather loud tch noise as he heard Kimura coming back, a bit of metal clicking together indicating he had the cuffs. Anpu couldn't turn to face him with how Takahashi had his head.
And then Anpu smirked. He chuckled as well as he could with his still short breath. If Takahashi thought he was going to try to get loose, that was his mistake. He spoke just before Kimura reached Takahashi.
"At least get my name right," he stated. He gave a pause to make sure everyone was paying attention and then spoke with his finally recovered breath. He'd read these people right, they'd think he was blowing smoke. His words were loud and sounded as much a proclamation as an introduction.
"I'm the last survivor of Kul Elna and the King of Thieves, Anpu!" Anpu dug his nails into Takahashi's arm more. Even with the man's long sleeves, he would have small cuts once he got Anpu off him. His last words would be a sneer, "And I've escaped from worse. You're all a bunch of fools."

Well, that confirmed things. This kid was mental. And not only that, he considered himself the King of Thieves. Definitely delusional, but if that thievery stuff was true, they could pin that string of recent thefts on him.
"Yeah, yeah. Keep talkin' like that, and maybe you can get away on an insanity charge," Takahashi growled. He doubted it. Insanity would just get this guy tossed in an insane asylum for a while. He looked toward Kimura. "I'll restrain him while you cuff him."
Kimura nodded, and Takahashi took the arm he had restraining Anpu's head away from his neck and swiftly grabbed the arm Anpu had been digging into his arm with before pulling it behind his back. Kimura clicked the cuffs around Anpu's wrists.
"Alright. Yamada, Kimura, go put him in a cell, and keep a good eye on him," Takahashi ordered. "Don't want mister 'King of Thieves' deciding to escape."

Anpu saw no reason to hide his delight with the situation at this point. There had been the bit of hiccup when Takahashi hadn't immediately listened to "Bakura's" pleas, but it had turned out for the better. No one here seemed to be taking him seriously, and if the Yamada man's words were any indication, Adachi wouldn't be coming around for a while. Even then, Adachi would have trouble doing anything but backing up the multiple personalities, especially if he wanted to maintain his own cover.
The resistance he put up when Takahashi adjusted his hands was token. He pulled at the cuffs after the clicked shut. They did have more substance to them then the ones in Egypt, but he'd never run around snapping those ones either. As for the eye Takahashi ordered to be kept on him, that would hardly be a problem. He was smiling as he was forced towards the cell.
