(Highlight for Spoilers)
Full Name: Campanella
Nicknames: Campy, Camp, Nella, Nerd, Magenta, Best Friends, Son
Age: 13~
Height: 4’9”
Weight: 87lb
Gender: Male
Race: Cat People
Alliance: Lawfully Good
Home: A Town with a Populace of Cat People
Franchise: Night of the Galactic Train
Physical Description: He is a bipedal cat like many other residents to the town he once lived in. His eyes seem to give off a more glare-like feature for some odd reason as his pupils are a deep forest green. His fur is the color Magenta, and his face area is where the is a more dark pink if it isn’t that color. He has three whiskers on each side of his face, and his hair tuft found upon his head is a grey-ish purple. Despite his odd coloration it is rather normal in his birthplace, but his head is rather tall for an odd reason making him seem tall. Although, for his age group he is surprisingly tall, but not like his father is. Campanella’s paws are colored a dark pink that is the similar case to his face. His tail is quite short to add.
His current attire composes of simple a red-magenta tie around his neck tucked under his black coat that covers until his hips. However, his attire may change over time and frankly he’ll also be found to be soaking wet with a wooden pole at hand as well as a burnt out lantern upon it. Most likely from the festival he died at, who knows why he has it at hand anymore. His default expression is indirect staring, and his face is rather hard to read for expressions. The most expressions you’ll find is simple cheerfulness and sadness. All items found on the train are no longer with him. Most likely they reduced to dust due to the ‘time jumps’ in the train if I’m correct, and as for his items at the beginning at the trip they never really existed.
Weapons: That Pole with the Burnt out Lantern on it.
Abilities/Powers: He has none currently.
Skills: He’s fairly intelligent and rather keen on things. He may not be that strong, but a whack will do good in any case as he’s truthfully more booksmart than anything.
Personality: He’s pretty emotionally stable despite the fact he had died leaving his best friend Giovanni behind as well as his old life and usually keeps a neutral point of view at things. He believes in equality and chances for others as he’s kind hearted to people regardless how they are like and sometimes never thinks of himself , most likely the cause of his death drowning within the river at the festival of stars. Giovanni is his closest and foremost friends, and possibly even closer as he feels sadden without the other cat. He often worries about his mother if anyone, but is rarely one to speak at all until it is his turn. Thus why, despite him being a leader role figure, he’s usually one to follow instead of lead. His intelligence branches off in many directions from Science to Faith to English and so on as he seems to be a stellar student, and he too enjoys sharing this knowledge with Giovanni. It is a rare occasion for him to share any emotions at all, but there are times he will. He currently holds a small phobia of rivers, and would rather keep distance away from one. His only interest on this island is to either find a way home, or find Giovanni.
History: Campanella’s life was elegant and rich as he was bountifully given knowledge and capabilities to do things more than other people could. His father was a rich man indeed, and best friends to Giovanni’s Father thus linking him to Giovanni. At the time Giovanni’s father didn’t go out nearly as much and they weren’t as poor either as the two children played games a lot or read books together. Almost like brothers, they grew closer and closer with each day spent together and eventually disliked being apart. Despite this all after a point of age something chains of events occurred to break them apart.
Campanella’s mother suddenly passed away leaving him with his father, and Giovanni’s father then began to travel round the planet only bringing things back home rarely ever showing his face to his family. Both Giovanni and his sister now had to work to keep the family together dropping their status to poor and cutting the time between the two boys that spent so much time together. By no means had this driven them apart, but unfortunately their interests and levels in knowledge did alternate quickly. Some time ago Campanella did get a dog, and his father hoped this would distract Campanella’s thoughts from his mother’s sudden passing.
Pressing on Campanella spent time in school with Giovanni as it proved to be more time than after school when Giovanni had to return to the newspaper working area to make money for the family. Zanelli was often ignored since he was simply just a bully to him and Giovanni making rumors often upsetting Giovanni. Their schedules had barely fit with each other, but they still trotted on with this friendship.
The Star Festival arrived, and Campanella participated in this as well as all the other citizens. He didn’t know where Giovanni was, and wished he would come soon enough. Later he got over to the river alongside it along with many other children, but he noticed Zanelli had gotten in a boat beginning to do something very dangerous. He was attempting to put a lantern on a wooden stick on one of the floating contraptions, and then fell into the water suddenly. It was extremely dark at the time, but despite this Campanella’s actions had no thoughts to them. He jumped into the water and pushed Zanelli to shore, but he sank instead into the murky black water. A rescue attempted ensued, but he was not found under the limit of time before he drowned being 45 minutes.
He later appeared on a train, surprisingly face to face with Giovanni. The two then began a small chit chat, but neither of them understood what was going on. Despite what Campanella had said previously, he had not understood either despite getting items from the ‘Galactic Stations’ and such that he didn’t remember as well, however the train progressed. They had come upon such strange people, and strange creatures as well as strange plants and occurrences. Whenever he did speak as if knowing something they were not of his own mouth, but rather a force of his mind that spat them out for him in which he did not understand. He played along however. The strangeness of the people amongst the train often troubled him causing doubts, but since Giovanni did trust them he did to soon remembering his deep trust in Giovanni’s instincts. Then came these strange creatures that owned no fur and odd anatomy speaking of their story suddenly. This confused Campanella at first, but when he began to piece things together he had suddenly realized. He was like everyone else here, dead. This brought his mood down, and from that point he only tried to be pretending to be happy. Although Giovanni’s wordings of things and behaviors sparked pure happiness in his heart, but stories in which the strange girl had spoke also sparked something within his soul too. Within the remembering of the Tickets he recalled Giovanni having a different ticket than everyone else (Campanella didn’t know where he got his ticket either, but he didn’t say)and made an observation. That difference in the ticket must mean he wasn’t dead like everyone else. This brought a bit of joy, but then soon occurred to him they arrived at South Cross Station. It was said to bring them to heaven, however Campanella did not leave as he soon realized the consequences for his rash judgments just to stay with Giovanni. They began to go toward a black area in the sky called the Coal Sack. He began to ramble on about things being in the sky as Giovanni then replied in words saying they’ll be together forever and asking for it to be kept that way saying he was happy being with Campanella. A pain hit Campanella’s aching heart as he then spoke of another illusion of mind. He knew what he had to do. He didn’t want to drag Giovanni along with him to his demise in death, his best friend had a chance to live and he wasn’t going to be selfish to take him along. He ran away from Giovanni to the back of the train locking the door to the outside. Within the train, if Giovanni was alone he was to survive. Campanella knew this and smiled with tears at his eyes speaking words of good bye. He didn’t want to leave Giovanni, but he knew he had to suddenly getting off the train and walking away. The darkness soon consumed him, and he was no longer in sight of his best friend whom pleaded him to return.
He awoke, and looked among him. There were people staring at him as he rode the train soaking wet from head to toe. In his hand was a pole with a burnt out lantern, and he saw more of those hairless creatures. Even he had to ask himself what the heck was going on. He then soon got off the train later and looked around. This place was not of where he was from. Everything was different. But he was here, and maybe Giovanni would be near.
Other: I know it may not seem to be the best decision to sign up a character from a movie you watched only minutes ago, but thinking about it I grew a small plot in mind. So I’m actually prepared this time. I’m hoping to sign up Giovanni later.
I do believe his name is derived from the Italian word ‘Campanella’ meaning ‘Little Bell’ as well as one other word ‘Campanula’ which means ‘Bellflower’ This was taken from Wikipedia of course
