Physical Description (Angel Form)
At his base point, Satan is a very serious looking man of more or less average height and a very fit build. He is neither muscled nor underweight. He has long black hair with no pronounced bangs. The bottom is cut at a very slight angle that would create a just noticable point if he were to keep it behind his head. He black eyes are harsh and very critical. He never smiles, and his eyes show it. He seems to be judging those he looks at down to their very soul.
Satan doesn't wear any clothes, deeming the shame of the nude form a sign of humanity's failures. It isn't as thought it matters, he has no sexual organs to speak of. However, in respect for God's wishes, he has his hair split at the base of his neck and hanging in front. It covers the areas where his nipples and genitalia would be if he had them, and due to seeming to generate his own wind by his power, doesn't seem to be effected by secular winds.
Extending from his back are four pristine white wings, rather more like a swan's than your typical dove's. However, the edges of every feather seem a little frazzled, almost as if he somehow got each feather individually a little to close to flame without actually severely burning them. It creates a somewhat rough, but nonetheles impressive effect.
Physical Description (Human Form)
This depends entirely on who he is possessing. However, he can prove or make a point of his presence by turning the eyes of his host yellow. This is the only direct visual display of his true identity he will deign to show to mortal man.
Weapons
Satan carries no weapons unless it would make sense for his human host to do so.
Abilities/Powers
Satan is an angel of the Ophanim hierarchy, although his powers do seem to align more with the Seraphim at times. As such he is of within the first and most powerful sphere of angels and has the powers one might expect him to have. Holy strength and the power of light incarnate. He is, however, not as strong as the Seraphim or the Archangelic Seraphim that he answers directly in recent times.
His powers at times seem rather demonic. This is due to a rather heavy taint he carries due to his mostly self-proported purpose of proving Man's weakness and need for destruction. He is not fallen, but it does read him as demonic to many. In fact, only angels within the first sphere are guaranteed to read his aura as that of an angel and not a demon with an angelic form.
When possessing a human (which he never does to a willing human, seeing fight as a sign of strength of soul), Satan is able to call upon every memory and bit of knowledge possessed by that human. He is also able to forcefully possess a human, but there are limitations often related to the willpower of the human in question.
Skills
Satan is a skilled liar. Unlike most of his brethren, he will out right speak a lie for purposes of manipulation. As a result, his skills as a liar are simply a subset of his manipulative prowress. He also possesses the skills and abilities of his human host, a result of his powers. It is less he has the skills per se and more the power to know how to use the ones his host has.
Personality
Satan cares a bit too much for the Law part of Lawful Good. He considers humans foul things that should have been destroyed the moment they succumbed to his temptation in their first fall from grace. It is his personal goal in existance to prove that humans are irredeemable and will be downright rat bastard nasty about it. Killing off everyone a human has ever cared about to make them renounce God? Totally something he would do, and quite willingly. He has no qualms about maiming and torturing, and has actually spent a fair amount of time around demons learning the methods they use to draw attention away from God and duplicate it himself.
He finds people like the biblical Job as justification for his actions. A true believer, one who is worthy of God's salvation and love, would go through hell and back while still singing the praises of their Father. Satan is not above even working with demons when circumstances permit. He is aware that God doesn't quite approve of all his actions, but throughout history he has been able to make the point that if God truly believes in his children, he would believe in their strength in the face of his adversary.
History
Satan claims to have been created by the Judeo-Christian god as a test for humanity, and he took his job a little too seriously. His over the top actions in regards to the temptation of man are in fact what began the schism within heaven. The specifics of it all seem to be only known to the highest angels, but it seems he almost fell along with them, causing the burn marks upon his wings before he realized he could better tempt man with the backing of his Father.
His manipulation towards the vices of humanity along with his almost demonic presence earned him a position as a go between between the Archangel Seraphim and the Archfiend Demon Lords. At times he would play both sides of the field, ever assuring God that it was merely a test of their faith. God would have to pull the reigns tight several times... until about fifty years ago, when the deity up and vanished.
As the Archangels went about their plans for humanity, Satan began spending more time with the Demon Lords. God wasn't there to stop him. He was key in causing the miscommunication that lead to the Demon Lords targetting psychic children. It wasn't long before he allied himself with the head of the Archfiends, Lucifer himself. They both had the understanding that as soon as God was found, they would split. It was in this position as a nearly fallen angel that he would come to target young Samuel Winchester and lead to the death of Mary Winchester.
Eventually he would end up possessing Mary's husband, John Winchester, and trying to push the the thorn that the brothers Sam and Dean had become over the edge with temptation. Eventually events lead to the three Winchester men getting sent to another world. He was not far behind. Just as Sam had managed to get away from him, he now had an issue with all three Winchesters. They had the potential to interfere with the game of chess between the Archangels and Demon Lords, and quite frankly, they'd just plain pissed him off...
Other
Grown from the "Yellow Eyed Demon" of Supernatural Season 1, heavy AU because it isn't Azazel. My apologies to what I've said to others about the God in their plot. It should be noted that the eventual God of this plot is rather the decent and forgiving guy, its just his angels can sometimes be a little... gung ho. And really, its a political thing with the higher ups. The lower ranking ones are pretty cool joes too.
I'd like to note that Satan here is based more upon his Jewish representation than his Christian one. Fans of the video game franchise Shin Megami Tensei likely understand this concept better.
Canon Yellow Eyed Demon available, just let me know you're getting him. Same rule that applies with all my Supernatural Heavy AUs. No images available.
