Full Name: Klonoa
Nicknames: Dream Champion, Dream Traveler
Age: Unknown; probably around age 15.
Height: 5 foot 4
Weight: 158 Pounds
Gender: Male
Race: Cabbit (Half Rabbit half Cat)
Alliance: Good
Home: He lives in the Wind Kingdom while he's in his real home, an alternate version of the Phantomile that the players traverse in 'Door to Phantomile'. The town in which he lives in this Kingdom is known as Breezegale.
Franchise: Klonoa (Unlike FF's Klonoa, this one uses the GBA Game continuities, meaning; Empire of Dreams, Dream Champ Tournament, and Klonoa Heroes. This continuity also takes place in the Japan Exclusive 'Namco X Capcom'.)
Physical Description: Klonoa is a young Cabbit with black fur, white fur covering his muzzle area, and likely his chest area, with medium sized eyes complete with orange irises. He wears a light blue jacket with a silver zipper, a blue shirt underneath, and blue shorts with black stripes going up the sides, a tail poking out of his backside. He also wears a blue cap with a yellow pac-man symbol on the side, red shoes with white laces, and yellow gloves. Among these features, his trademark floppy black ears, ended with white star like ends are also apparent on his person. He also appears to wear a golden medal with a star emblazzoned on it; a suiveneer from his 'Klonoa Heroes' Adventure, though this is normally hidden on his person.
Weapons: His trusty Wind Ring, which is a golden ring topped with a green gem, which can become a variety of weapons via the energy it can let out. Not long ago, he needed the help of a spirit to give the ring power, though it can be assumed that Klonoa learns later, during the events of Dream Champ Tournament, that he learns how to draw out his own energy to use the ring. The weapons are, as follows; A Hammer, a Sword, A Parasol, an Arm Cannon, or a Boomerang.
Abilities/Powers: Being the Dream Traveler, Klonoa is capable of traveling to different worlds in his dreams, usually to worlds where the state of dreaming is in danger of some kind. This usually lands Klonoa in more then one sticky situation, but spirit and determination always manage to get him out.
His Wind Ring has a variety of different abilities that was used in his various adventures. The first being his famed Wind Bullet move, which can help him use a small enemy as a projectile. The Wind Bullet can, when fired against an enemy, make their bodies inflate and become rounded, filling up with a light substance that makes them float. Klonoa can then pick them up over his head and either toss them straight forward into other enemies or use them to perform a second jump in the air, allowing him to reach places he normally couldn't (and kicking the enemy he is holding downwards in the process).
Along with the Wind Bullet, it also gives Klonoa access to powerful abilities, known as the Tornado Attack, and the Thunder Hurricane, two moves that Klonoa discovered in Namco X Capcom, and Klonoa Beach Volleyball. The Tornado Attack consists of Klonoa jumping into the air, and unleashing a massive tornado that surrounds Klonoa, and anyone unfortunate enough to be too close. The Thunder Hurricane works similarly; it consists of Klonoa spinning around, causing bolts of lightning to shoot out, forming a large circumference around the Cabbit. The only real downside of these attacks is that they sometimes leave Klonoa a little dizzy afterwards.
Skills: Along with his wind ring, Klonoa has access to a few smaller skills without it. For one, he can flap his floppy ears like a cartoon, to keep him in the air a moment longer during a jump. He's also skilled at various boarding sports, which is inspired by his hover board, commonly used in his games.
Personality: Despite a fear of heights and of water (Because of an inability to swim), Klonoa is a brave and kind individual, who would do anything for his friends, and is usually laid-back and confidant against things most normal kids would be afraid of. Being Strong-willed, you'll never find Klonoa backing down from a fight against a bad-guy, even in the gravest of circumstances.
History: Many years ago when Klonoa was just a child living with his grandfather (Affectionately named: Grandpa), Klonoa was a normal young child living in the world of Phantomile. One day, as he was exploring the forests of Breezegale (Possibly the remains of the Wind Kingdom, as FF has mentioned), he happened across what appeared to be a simple yet intricate golden ring, topped with a green gem, and inside it, Huepow, a supposed spirit of the ring itself. Becoming friends immediately, Huepow and Klonoa formed a close bond between each other, almost brothers to a point.
One night as Klonoa slept, a simple dream whisked him and his friend Huepow away to a world known as the 'Empire of Dreams' ruled by the once benevolent King Jillius... However, after a bout of Chronic Insomnia seemed to settle into the kings systems, he immediately made it law that no-one was to dream ever again (Under the assumption that if he can't dream, no-one else can), and, since Klonoa had broke that law, he was dragged into meet the Emperor himself. Instead of imprisoning Klonoa for dreaming, Jillius, instead, offered Klonoa a challenge; defeat the four great monsters causing trouble around his kingdom, and Klonoa and Huepow would be set free. As they traveled around defeating the monsters that were mentioned, Klonoa and Huepow came to the startling revelation that the monsters were really people that had been dreaming, before an odd red mist overtook them, turning them into monsters.
Upon defeating the final monster, and releasing the innocent inside, Klonoa and Huepow were immediately clued in to the existence of an even bigger evil existing inside Jillius' castle. After a long hard struggle between Klonoa and the palace guards, the cabbit confronted Jillius, but soon discovered that his advisor, Bagoo, had been the cause of the emperor's insomnia, and had been the one behind the evil plauging the land all along. Bagoo took the form of a horrific dragon to challenge Klonoa, but was defeated all the same. Freed of his insomnia, Jillius, possibly relieved that he can finally sleep peacefully again, raised the law against dreaming, and let Klonoa and Huepow go free. At that Klonoa awakened from the dream... But was surprised to find Huepow no longer with him, though the Wind Ring was still in his possession. It was only later that Klonoa made the theory that Huepow too had been nothing but a part of the dream... Even though, he still seemed to remember him pretty well.
It was on that day that he met Lolo in his waking world (Since this world takes place in Klonoa Heroes; Legend of the Star Medal). A Priestess in training in a nearby temple at a place called Bell-Hill, Lolo and Klonoa became friends quite quickly, and spent many a day exploring, along with Popka, Lolo's partner, and Chipple, a friend of Klonoa's from Breezegale. Due to the friendships, Klonoa, though he still missed Huepow greatly, soon allowed himself to move on.
It was, in fact, a few months later, that Klonoa's Dream Traveling occured once more. Finding himself walking down a single dirt path amongst a wide, seemingly never ending grasslands. Before Klonoa could wonder how he got there, a single mysterious envelope floated down from the sky, before Klonoa quickly caught it and opened it up. Inside the envelope was a letter of invitation that tells him that he had been selected to compete in the prestigious "Dream Champ Tournament" among other accomplished adventurers for the title of "Greatest Hero" as well as a cash reward. No sooner does he finish reading that he is enveloped in a blinding light and transported to a technologically advanced castle, finding himself instantly surrounded by all manner of adventurers and fighters, including, surprisingly enough, Chipple, Lolo and Popka, whom were also competing. Among the number of competitors was a figure by the name of Guntz, a pompous rogue whom is apparently known by most of the competition as a scarily proficient bounty hunter, earning him the nickname 'The Golden Killer'; Guntz immediately writes Klonoa off as little more then an annoyance, thoroughly annoying the cabbit, and a rivalry was formed.
After a small meet and greet, The master of ceremonies, and sponsor of the tournament itself, Garlen (A small and round man with a metal claw for a hand) makes his appearance and informs everyone that they will be paired off in a single-elimination tournament that has them racing across several worlds of his own choosing. The first one to reach the end will be the winner and will advance to the next round. Several rounds came and gone, with Klonoa beating the likes of his old enemy Joka, and a huge fisherman frog named Gomeroth, before he was forced to face his next opponent with a serious disadvantage... That being, competing in a world that's mostly covered in water, forcing competitors in that world to swim. Seeing this, Garlen granted Klonoa a dive suit to even the odds, since his competition, a blue dragon humanoid named Suiryu, was an accomplished swimmer. Upon winning the round, Klonoa recieves a piece of advice from Suiryu to follow him after he loses... And comes to the horrifying revelation that all of the losers are turned into gears by Garlen to help him build his kingdom of technology...
As if things can't get any worse, Klonoa discovers that Lolo had lost her match against Guntz, her friend Popka having been shot, and was immediately kidnapped by Garlen, all because Guntz had been promised extra money when he wins the tournament, uncaring what should happen to the losers. Enraged, Klonoa and Guntz compete against each other in Garlen's castle, with Klonoa coming out on top. However, Garlen reveals another piece of his plan as Guntz is being taken away... The Winner of the tournament's TRUE prize was to be turned into an electronic brain for his empire, since Garlen wanted the strongest competitor in the tournament to complete his empire. At first, it looks like Klonoa is about to be seized himself, before Guntz fires off his pistol and destroys the castle guards that had surrounded Klonoa. Enraged, Garlen takes to the driverseat of one of his mechanations; a huge mecha created from the gears of the competitors. It was a long tough fight, but Klonoa eventually outsmarted Garlen and destroyed the mech, ultimately destroying Garlen's mechanical empire, and freeing everyone that had turned into gears.
With Garlen being arrested by Suiryu, whom was revealed to be a cop, and everyone back to normal, Klonoa relished in his victory, though bemoans the fact that he didn't recieve the trophy that had been promised to the winner. However, Guntz reappears, the cash prize of the tournament in hand, and tosses Klonoa the trophy, claiming the money was all he wanted, and that the cabbit deserved the trophy for beating him; a notion Klonoa more then readily accepted. It was little after everyone took a group photo that Klonoa awoke from his traveling, and found himself back home.
(The following WOULD be based off of Klonoa Heroes; Legend of the Star Medal, but since very little is really known about the game, I'm afraid skipping this is unavoidable.)
Little more then a few months had passed since Klonoa, Guntz, and Pango prevented the ressurection of the nightmare being Nahatomb, and since then Klonoa and Guntz have become very close friends, partners in the mercenary business. With this in mind, the two traveled all around, though Klonoa made it a point to return to Breezegale every now and again. One such adventure of Klonoa's and Guntz's found them working alongside the likes of Kurino the Hero, his sidekick Sabine, along with the legendary golden knight Gilgamesh, and many many MANY other heroes from various franchises (Darkstalkers, Soul Calibur, Megaman Legends, etc). By the end, Klonoa and Guntz earned themselves fame as great as Kurino, Gilgamesh, and others, which helped exponentially with their business.
Merely a year after the events of Namco X Capcom came and gone, Klonoa found himself on another adventure that wrenched him and his friends away from Breezegale, and right into the world of Toon Town...
(What happens next crosses over somewhat into Crossover Bros Brawl spoilers since this Klonoa is basically the Klonoa I've used in my fic.)
Other: Since Breezegale and the entire world of Phantomile was returned into existence after the heartless attack that took it, Klonoa and the gang returned home, and life continued as normal for a while... Then one day, Klonoa happened across a portal in the outskirts of Breezegale.
Now here he is on Dimensional Island, already hearing rumors of his old friend Gantz and his gang being somewhere on the island...
