It was high noon in Canopy City. The hottest part of the day. The tropical climate meant the shade was only a small relief. It didn't cut down on the humidity. The bridges that connected the trees were pretty bare. Most people had enough sense to stay inside during this time of day.
It was probably a good thing, too. The portal popped open, a few electrical sparks reminscent of a short circling the edge. A very surprised woman fell, what looked like a small nightstand falling right after her.
The woman landed on one of the bridges and barely managed to roll out of the way as the stand crashed through the bridge followed by a lopsided telephone and various items that had been on top of the dresser. The telephone cord was cut at the end. A clean cut, but cut nonetheless. she grasped at the bridge and managed to not burn her hand on the rope thanks to her glove.
She looked down as the stand crashed through the trees. She heard it impact. While she couldn't see the resulting carnage she had no doubt the dresser was no more. She looked up at where she was hanging from. Getting up was not going to be an easy task.
Her crimson hair had come loose in the fall, and how half of the spiky bun that held her hair up was loose. The barettes that had fallen out were likely stuck in the trees somewhere. She glanced to her side. All three pokeballs were there. That was a relief, if nothing else. She looked around as she grabbed with her other hand. The area looked vaguely like a tropical version of Fortree City.
She muttered something nasty under her breath and began to scale up the broken half of the bridge. She'd have time to figure out what the hell had happened once she got her feet on ground again.

What... was this... thing? It's shape was reminiscent of a bridge, but... it was missing the random sparks of electricity, the hover cars, the danger presented in walking on it. Where WAS all that? Rax'aar has guessed that this... place, would be different than where he came from, but... this was a tad much.
No, wait. Theeeere it was. The random sparks just came from the sky and not the bridge. Made sense, he guessed. It was still missing the dang-no, wait. Something... or someone fell through the odd portal in the sky. It was slightly reminiscent of how the young alien himself had made it there.
"Okay, well. Electric sparks, odd portal, being falling from sky followed by wooden object and some unidentified... weapon, I guess it was. It's... a start, I guess. I still see no vehicle propelled by anti-gravity, but I suppose we'll get to those later. Also Blixers. Ah, the Blixer run of Faal was a great site to see... but this is no time for external monologue."
He was about to move forward, when he noticed that the... being that had fallen from the upper atmosphere was in motion. He could infer that she was female, but... not what species. Having come from a place without humans... the young male wasn't too familiar with them.
"...lack of fur, seemingly less thick flesh... not Flargian, at least. But.. what? Hm. My best course of action might be to stop talking to myself and just go communicate with this... being, I suppose."
And so he leaped into action, moving forward slowly. This... bridge thing was letting out an excessive amount of heat energy. Odd, yes. But then, most of this area was exceedingly warm. It was reminiscent of the lava planet, Floogdor.
"Should probably think of something witty to say to get her... yeah, her attention. Ah, got it. Hey you!"

Aby looked up when she heard the voice and almost lost her grip in surprise. She had no clue what the hell that thing was. If she had been forced to guess, she would have said an unknown species of Pokemon. But it talked. That wasn't normal. And it didn't appear to be any form of telepathy, either.
Now is not the time to be all stupid, Aby! Whatever it is, the fact that it didn't attack you in this position means its probably not going to,
"Uh, could I get some help?"
Aby was dangling there rather precariously. As if to add precedence to the situation, the rope she was holding onto started fraying, and one strand popped loose. She dropped down a few inches.
Uh, crap... I can't let him out... He'd make a good rope but he might try to molest that thing... she had one hand hovering over the middle fishing lure like object on her belt. Ivy would be more help, but she wasn't sure she got angle the Pokeball to get Ivy to land on anything near solid.

So that's what was holding this bridge-like object up. That rope-like thing. If it was glowing green, it would've been exactly like the ones from Faal. No time to think about that, though. It was snapping, and the humanoid creature was sinking.
He could have hovered over, yes. If he'd had a hover belt on him, that is. Although, as it would be, he didn't. He did, however, have a rope. Glowing green, made of plasma, red object at the end. He tossed it to within reach of the humanoid, keeping his feet planted off the bridge. He'd had enough foresight to back-track when the rope started splintering. If only because he'd expected it to explode...
"As a word of advice... don't grab the green end. Just don't. Red end safe, green end bad. Red end life and not falling off of this, oddly unfloating, bridge thing. Green end instant death. Instant."
De ja vu. He'd had this same conversation with Zip once... although, the green end wasn't exactly INSTANT death, it was death if grabbed onto and not let go of quick enough.

Aby had no idea what the not quite Pokemon was talking about, but took his advice. She grasped ahold of the red part, although she was confused as to why he was backing up so much.
"You got a good grip on your end?" the question was more rhetorical than not, as she had begun to scale up with the rope. It was hard going, "You can help too!" she shouted.

"Fine, fine. I figured you'd, y'know, hover the rest of the way or something, but I guess not." Rax'aar responded, pressing a small button on his end.
The rope began to retract, much like a pulley would. Or a grappling hook, for those Batman fans outside the fourth wall.
"Although, I suppose this place does have a rather intense gravitational field. Rather odd, but eh. Not as bad as Volcanus, right?" He gave a small chuckle, stopping his backtrack.
"Have to be a good distance away for the retraction to work right, if you're wondering. Well, that, and I expected the bridge thing to explode at first... I'm a tad disappointed."

Aby kept opening her mouth to ask what the hell the creature was talking about, but he kept saying things that confused her even more. When he finally got to the part about exploding bridges, she had had enough.
"What in Arceus' name are you blabbering about!? And what are you, anyways? Some kind of Pokemon? A mutant? What's this hover-Volcanus-exploding bridge nonsense!?"
Aby wasn't generally a calm person in the best of circumstances. And for some reason this creature's blabbering was getting on her nerves. However, there was more confused frustration in her voice than actual anger. Provided you could get past the screaming and hear her actual tone of voice.

"...you don't know where Volcanus is? Or... about the exploding bridges of Floog? Not even about the Fragrerians?!" Rax'aar conveyed genuine shock. Everyone he'd ever spoken to at least knew of Volcanus.
"Huh. I'm Fragrerian, but... just what sort of alien are you? I've never seen a species get confused at the word Volcanus. The really adept ones even knew of Floog... so... what's your species?"
The irony of the situation flew right over Rax'aar's head, of course.

Aby facepalmed, "I don't know where you think you are, but I'm human. Y'know, the only other species on the planet other than Pokemon? Are you trying to tell me you're an alien?"
It was turning into a comedy of errors. Neither one of them seemed aware they weren't where they belonged. To an outsider, it would have probably been hilarious.

"Me? An alien? No, no. I believe it's you who's the alien here. And what are these... 'Pokemon' you speak of?" Rax'aar questioned, an inquisitive look finding itself on his face.
"What planet do you come from, anyway?"

Aby opened her mouth, but paused. A friend of hers had said there had been strange activity on Spear Pillar... and one of the mythical beasts of Sinnoh was rumored to have power over space. She looked around slowly. There were similarities to Fortree, but it was entirely possible...
"I think... how much you wanna bet we're both wrong? I don't think either of us are on our own planet. Hell, I'd say odds are good we aren't in the same dimension..."
She seemed to miss his question about Pokemon. Truth was, she knew if they were both from a dimension other than this one, at least his and possibly this didn't even have Pokemon.

"It's... plausible, I suppose. This place isn't exactly like any planet in my dimension. And I did mess up that one portal to the vacuum dimension. And then there's the extreme humidity." Rax'aar's hands went to his pockets. He had to have SOMETHING useful on him.
"Aha. Found it." He pulled out a small square device. It had an antenna. He waved it around a bit, a series of beeps going off.
"Oh hey. This place has a large, large amount of energy. Moreso than that of a black hole. It's as if every dimension ever conceived leads here. Female creature... what was the last thing you remember doing before being whisked away here." Rax'aar asked, not knowing her name. It would have been, most likely, a bad idea to have just said 'hey you' again.

Aby paused. Female creature? She would have preferred what he had been using earlier. She didn't even call girl Pokemon "female creatures".
"First of all, my name is Aby. As for what I was doing, I was having an argument on the phone... ah, this uh... thing that lets you talk to people far away. Uh... through wires and stuff. Uh.... maybe your world calls them communicators? It went dead and then me, the phone, and the dresser it was on all fell through a hole at my feet."
Aby felt extremely stupid. But she had no way of knowing if the pointy-eared creature's world had telephones. She had fallen back on communicators based on science-fiction shows he had heard about. As for defining "phone", she'd never really thought about it. She would have used her PokeNavi as an example, but that was back home.

"Hm. I believe your communication device, this teelephone, stopped working only AFTER the portal open. I, myself, can't get a signal out to my friends... comrades... the guys I hang out with on the other side of the portal. The fact that my 'Wrist Application That Checks Hours' stopped working tells me this area may exist out of time, also." Rax'aar noticed, checking his W.A.T.C.H.
"Ah. My apologies then, Aby. My identification is Rax'aar. Rax'aar Nosurname. THIS CAN ONLY MEAN ONE THING." The young alien took a long, long dramatic pause, his finger held up.
"...I dunno where we are."

Aby sweatdropped as Rax'aar spoke. Maybe she had treated him a little stupidly. She sure was getting it back. She was about to suggest they not define things unless they were asked to when he paused.
She pulled an anime facefault as he finished his thought. She jumped back to her feet. If she had a Flying-type on her, she could ask it to scopet he area out. But she didn't. The best she could do in this environment is ask Ivy to get them out of the forest. The sunlight would bother Vlad, and she didn't like taking Bobby out of his Pokeball unless she had to.
"Maybe we should hold out on definitions unless asked, m'kay?" She scratched the back of her head and took a moment to pull down the remaining barettes, letting her mid-length hair fall, "This place doesn't seem all that occupied, but if its like the jungles in my world, it isn't safe. Might I suggest alternate transportation?"
Aby's hand hovered over Ivy's pokeball as she spoke. If one looked very closely, they could see the dinosaur like creature with a plant growing from its back peering out.
