Physical Description
When deigning to appear to mortals (ridiculously rare), Metatron appears as a metallic humanoid of significant to ridiculous stature. His body appears to be made out of emtal, with gold work reminsicient of a shield covering most of his joints. His "hair" is stiff and appears to be gold as do his exaggerated eyebrows. His metallic frame is muscled, and his feet as they are are bare. Goldwork decorates his entire body.
He wears a loose toga style robe that is tied around his midsection. The tails from the tie extend far down. Both the front and the back have gold framework, and in the center of both is a large stylized cross. His wings appear to be metal blades and of a slightly paler silver than his body. He has no pupils, either, simply straight silver orbs. All in all, he looks extremely robotic.
Weapons
Metatron has no need for weapons, his powers are quite immense enough all on their own.
Abilities/Powers
Metatron is one of the most powerful angels in the service of YHVH. His powers are pretty much impossible to quantify, but he is nowhere near above throwing around Almighty and holy energies to kick your ass clear off the face of ten worlds if his Lord commands it. He is able to speak directly to any being his Lord wishes.
There are also heavy implications that Metatron is simply a shell for the literal Voice of God, and in that sense is a fragment of YHVH. In some worlds, after all, he has been able to rise to become god, and as such it is arguable Metatron is merely a lifeless puppet... one that can be stolen from YHVH, although he will be quick to make another.
Skills
Metatron doesn't have a whole lot of these. He's intimidating as all hell, though, so you better be damn firm in your values if you're going to conflict him. He's extremely manipulative and rather good at telling partial truths.
Personality
The angel does not have a sense of humor. Not even a speck, you could use a cosmic microscope on him and he'd probably smite you for the inconvenience. He is stoic and ridiculously slow to anger. He acts as if he cares greatly for Man and shows "sadness" any time they turn away, but in truth he's a fair bit of a manipulative asshat who is just doing what the even greater manipulative asshat that is YHVH tells him to do. All in all, he's really kind of flat.
History
At some point or another, YHVH decided He needed someone to deliver His word to man, and Metatron came into being. Metatron has taken part in some form or another in just about every conflict with YHVH that has happened across the multiverse.
His presence on the Island is as YHVH's messenger to the Messiah of God and King of Bel, Abel. He has no physical presence at the moment, merely existing to deliver YHVH's word and orders to the Messiah.

Pretty much using the entire Shin Megami Tensei franchise as a base here. His most important contributions plot wise would be in SMT III and Devil Survivor.
