She never goes out without her large witch hat (for good reason; she keeps her Mini-Hakkero under there) and her broom.
Weapons: Danmaku, magic, her Mini-Hakkero (which powers her freakin' huge lasers.
Abilities/Powers: Powerful magic, flight (just like Alice and the rest of the Gensokyans, but Marisa often flies on her broom).
Skills: A good thief, pretty speedy; has destructive magic with lots of explosions.
Personality: Sanguine. Marisa is snarky and fun-loving. She won't hesitate to blast someone who harms her friends and she hates being belittled. Also somewhat manipulative.
History: Born the daughter of one of the leaders of the Human Village in a time when Youkai terrorized (or at least made life more difficult for) humans, Marisa was bored with her average life. She wanted to learn the mystic arts, but her father, who hated anything that had to do with the occult and magical, forbade it.
Marisa snuck out of the village one night and encountered the "Wandering Evil Spirit" Mima in the Forest of Magic. Mima, despite her initial doubts, taught Marisa magic. When Mima attempted to take over Gensokyo, Marisa fought on her side against Reimu, the Hakurei Shrine Maiden. Mima later disappeared; rumors regarding her reappearance have yet to be confirmed.
Not long before the Scarlet Mist Incident (Embodiment of Scarlet Devil), Marisa met someone who she hadn't seen before. It was a teenaged boy from the other side of the Border named Michael. Michael became friends with her and Reimu; she taught him magic and danmaku, while Reimu taught him how to fly.
Marisa expected there to be something of a lull in action; after all, she had just finished fighting Cirno after being challenged (while holding back, mind), but she had no such luck. Michael came to her, asking if she would join him on a quest Yukari was sending him on. She asked Alice if she would join them, and Alice almost immediately agreed.
