Michael walked into the Cafe at the mall, quickly finding a place to sit. He had a splitting headache which had been bugging him ever since he, Alice, and Marisa encountered those two strange people. Michael ordered a tea drink and sat back down. "Ugh... what a mess... I really need that Post-Incident tea right now... Marisa and Alice left to do who-knows-what, but I'll meet up with them later."
'Also... I still don't know what Yukari was talking about before we left, when she told me to "trust my bonds." That's pretty cryptic, even by her standards...'

Ellie sat by herself at a table. Canary had hopped off of her head and was now sitting on the table, occasionally pecking at some coffee beans. She watched the bird go about its business with a bored expression.
"...Man. I haven't come across a single demon since I got here," Ellie said. She took a drink from her coffee and laid her head down on the table.
At least, until she heard someone say the words "Marisa and Alice." She sat up again. Those words. Separate, they could mean anyone. Together? TOUHOUTOUHOUTOUHOUTOUHOUTOUHOU
She sprang up and grabbed her bird, perching him on top of her head before running over toward Michael. "DID YOU SAY MARISA AND ALICE?"

Michael shrieked in a very unmanly manner, startled by this girl who seemed to come out of nowhere.
"Y-Yes, I did. W-Who might you be?" Michael managed to stammer out.

"MY NAME IS ELLWOOD SONG BUT YOU CAN CALL ME ELLIE AND MARISA AND ALICE AND TOUHOU AND I WANT TO TALK TOUHOU."
She then invited herself to Michael's table by taking a seat across from him.

Michael quickly pressed his hands to both of his temples, wincing as his headache came back full force. He was slightly surprised at finding another person who recognized the games.
"Ungh... okay... Ellie. You referred to it as Touhou; are you from (Michael airquoted) 'The Outside World?'" As he moved his hands, Michael attempted to use his power to lower her volume.

"'The Outside World'?" Ellie mimicked Michael's airquotes. "Are you trying to say you're from Gensokyo yourself?"
She put a hand on her chin. "Naaah. Can't be. Your clothes are all wrong. Even Maribel and Renko wore lacy shit and hats."

Michael realized with a bit of horror that his powers had no effect on her. Sucking it up, he said, "...Kinda. I'm from Earth, originally, but I got abducted by Yukari into Gensokyo. I've actually never met Maribel or Renko, either... wait." Michael started muttering, "Wasn't Maribel the scorekeeper during that soccer tournament? I can't remember..."

"What."
There was a sudden stop in fangeeking. Canary stopped chirping. The bird seemed to sense that there was some kind of snap about to occur with Ellie.
"Why.
Would.
Yukari.
Kidnap.
YOU?!"

Michael threw up his hands in a "surrender" motion. "Hey, I asked her that, myself. Her answer was," Michael took a moment to use his power to mimic Yukari's voice, "'Just because.' 'Sides, Gensokyo is actually pretty damn dangerous, 'lemme tell you. Ever been punched by an oni?"

"I've been punched by a lot more than oni, little man!" She resisted the urge to punch Michael.
"If it's so dangerous, why would she kidnap you? Why aren't you in the human village right now? Or dead?!"

Michael steeled his nerves. "...Do you honestly think that Yukari needs a reason to do anything? I'm also pretty damn lucky. Yukari dropped me in the middle of the Forest of Magic. Had Alice not come by when she did, I probably would've been killed by the youkai that showed up. As it stood, I still had to learn how to defend myself." "Alice dropped me off at the Hakurei Shrine. Reimu taught me how to fly and Marisa taught me danmaku. I developed my power on my own, though I don't really know how I had one... Patchy said it had something to do with my affinity to elements of fantasy, or something like that." Michael quickly grabbed his tea and sat back down at the table. "Anything else you want to know?"

"YOU CAN'T TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO FLY."
Ellie slammed her hands down on the table. This was starting to frustrate her. She hadn't dealt with someone quite this frustrating since that horrible anthropomorphic Lugia she'd encountered in the rainforest, and she tended to pretend she'd never met him anyways.
"That's why Marisa requires a broom! It's not because she's some kind of stereotypical witch, it's because she lacks the spiritual power to fly on her own! And on that note, danmaku?! I don't see any boobs on you, buddy!" Ellie yelled. "And let's keep the fact that ZUN can't draw boobs out of this for right now; they've still got boobs in Immaterial and Missing Power and in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody!
"And on that note, 'affinity with the elements of fantasy'? What kind of bullshit explanation is that?"

Michael shrugged calmly. "You're asking the wrong guy about the 'element of fantasy' thing. Patchouli kinda knows, and Yukari definitely knows, but she doesn't say anything. I know very little about why I can do these things, I just know that I can."
Michael took a sip of his tea. "As for the danmaku, I do know about that. At least, in my Gensokyo, the reason guys can't use danmaku is because most of them cannot create spellcards that follow the rules yet are effective. Therefore, most of them get whupped. ...By the way, when I say my Gensokyo, I'm referring to this specific one. According to Yukari, I don't exist in any other Gensokyo, including the canon one. So, it's kinda like an alternate universe thing.
Michael mused on a thought for a minute or two. "Actually, for that matter, I found that the games are similar, but not quite exactly like how things are in the actual Gensokyo. After all, the danmaku I faced isn't just in 2D."

"And that's just sexist!" Ellie was in Michael's face now, her own face red with anger. "I mean, I know there's no fighting males in Touhou, but that's something that should stay that way.
"And it's pretty fucking obvious the danmaku are in 3D in actuality, but that's not something you can exactly express on a shooter, not even ones that are actually in three dimensions!
"By the way, 'elements of fantasy'? You either got that out of My Little Pony or a bad fanfic. Probably the latter. That's one of those bullshit explanations that people always use for their magical OCs getting pulled into new worlds and getting magical powers. Every. Fucking. Time."
She thought about something. "Explain me this. If you've been pulled into Gensokyo, why are you still wearing your civilian clothes? Those have no reason to be in Gensokyo in the first place. They're not forgotten or mythical. They're not even something Rinnosuke would sell. You should still be wearing lace, lace, and more lace."

Michael chuckled. "The reason I still wear these clothes is because I like them and they're practical. What exactly is sexist about that? I saw it happen firsthand; a 13-year-old boy from the human village used a spellcard, but it was so simple even Cirno could've beaten it with no difficulty."
Michael started to laugh a bit more. "I have never seen My Little Pony, though I hear it is quite popular. If you have an issue with that wording, I suppose that Patchouli's other term for it wouldn't be much better. She also described it as my belief in the supernatural being amplified by Gensokyo's magical atmosphere. Most people I knew on Earth had no belief nor interest in the mystical. They also thought I was masochistic for playing Touhou games."
"As for the last part," Michael said, smirking, "I'm not nearly Bishounen enough to pull off lace. Being 6 feet 3 inches tall kinda prevents that from working." Michael looked at the entrance to the Cafe. "Ah, hello Marisa, Alice. Did you find what you needed?"
"Oh, and by the way... haven't you seen the flowchart? If something happens in Gensokyo, it's caused by: 1: Magic. 2: Eirin's shady new drug. 3: Yukari fooling around again. Or 4: A Moriya Shrine Conspiracy. I'd say it was Magic, here."
