Abel could feel his frustration building, but for once he didn't will it down. He felt betrayed, and while he had been able to contain his anger while he was with Seth, now that he was alone, he wanted to have some words with YHVH. It was just as he was about to demand the angel's presence again that it spoke up again. He didn't feel any less angered.
"Why did you hide Keiji's existence from me?! I had a brother all this time, and you didn't tell me! Why?!"

"What would you have done if you had known, Messiah of the New Heavenly Kingdom? What paths would you would have walked, away from Your Lord and your mission?"
There was an exaggerated pause. Not enough for Abel to have a chance to answer, most like, but enough to be noticed. As if the angel had gone into thought. It had happened before, and was generally a sign of further relay between the angel that served as the middle man between Abel and YHVH.
"Your pain is understood by Him, and He would like to offer his apologies if He misread your reactions. Your brother did not live in the Japan of your human years, but in the land once known as America. He thought it kinder for neither of you to know, so that your brother would not be burdened by the weight you bear as your friends were forced to be. You must remember that He always tries to operate with His children's best interests, as you do."

Abel did not feel any less annoyed as Metatron took its time to answer him. Did YHVH feel it necessary to make him wait any longer for answers than he had already? The answers he received were not satisfactory.
"I would like to think that I would have traveled the same path," Abel growled. "Why would knowing of my brother cause me to travel a different one? And why would not informing me of him help him!? It didn't help him in that world the other Abel came from, did it?!"
He didn't seem to care that what he was doing was quite blatantly insubordination. He was too angered by how callous YHvH was toward the very human feelings he had, how he thought that he would be easily swayed simply by this kind of knowledge. It was insulting.

There was another silence, this one a far more judgmental one. It was amazing how Metatron was able to relay emotion via silence, but it had always been a "talent" he possessed. As if there was a face and body language present to relay the signs despite the lack of one. Metatron was capable of the same thing even in his emotionless physical form, although it was often downplayed by how intimidating he appeared to most humans to be.
"Did you not understand what He has told you of? Or is it the case that you would have wished for your brother to carry the weight your friends were burdened with at Cain's hands? You compare your path to the King who turned his face, heart, and very being away from our Lord. Is it that you would have wished even the smallest part of that burden be carried by your brother?"
One could feel the shake of the angel's head, "It is of no matter. You are to drop this foolish line of questioning. Or have you now decided that He doesn't care as much as He claims nor works for the greater good of all?"

Metatron's words were incredibly judgmental, and Abel began to feel that it would be folly to continue. He still felt outraged, but when Metatron told him to drop the issue, he bowed his head in shame.
"...I overstepped my bounds. Forgive me," Abel said quietly. "Our Lord works only for the greater good... I should not question his methods."
A constant doubt now nagged at him. While Metatron hadn't lied to him, he hadn't been speaking the outright truth. It felt completely manipulative. Metatron still seemed unwilling to speak of the matter. This wasn't the first time he'd acted like this toward him, though. Perhaps he should just take this at face value.
Or perhaps YHVH really was beginning to see him as an uncontrollable demon. He sincerely hoped that was not the case.
