It was just... time to step out of that stupid House of Blue Leaves.
Eddy had practically dragged Ed out, though it took little persuasion to do so. Even if they were clearly reacting differently, they at least agreed that the tension was too much to handle. Maybe Sockhead was onto something, leaving the way he did. Even IF he was practically shoved out.
Ed kept asking how long they'd be gone, and each time Eddy never gave him a straight answer. He would've LIKED to never go back and go looking for Double D, but that would more than likely be a fruitless search.
He just wanted to GET OUT. He had never been more anxious in his entire life.
So did Ed, it seemed. He took much glee in swinging between the jungle trees, latching onto branching with trails of blue light like vines, while Eddy sped on the ground level below. A jungle rumpas seemed to be doing them much good.
"You can't--catch me--Eddy!" Ed called inbetween each swing, letting out a few Tarzan yells along the way.
"That a challenge, Mumbo!?" Eddy looked ahead and saw the approaching Canopy City, grinning. He immediately latched onto the ladders and scrambled up into the trees.

Meanwhile, completely unaware of the race going on below, Aya flew through the sky, enjoying the feel of the breeze on her face. She hadn't had a good opportunity to just forget about everything else and fly for a while, even before coming to the Dimensional Island. Still, ever the reporter, she kept her favorite camera within reach; after all, one could never be certain when something would come up.
"Hey, Momi! You've got better eyes than me, what's those things ahead of us?"
Momiji snapped out of her trance; she had faintly heard some voices below herself and Aya and had been trying to make out what they were saying.
"-Wha? Oh, right. I'll take a look, Aya." Momiji flew ahead and focused. "Huh. It looks almost like a larger version of the Human Village back in Gensokyo. I can see some people walking around."
Aya looked around. Getting an idea, she grinned and turned to Momiji. "Hey, Momiji! Wanna see who can get there first?"
Momiji frowned. "C'mon, Aya; that's not even fair; you're a lot faster than me."
Aya responded, "No excuses! Okay... threetwoone GO!" Aya dove straight down, through the overbrush and into the thick of the trees.
Momiji sighed, her ears drooping. She then chuckled to herself, "Heheh... you never change, do you Aya?" She then flew down into the treetops herself, trying to keep up.

Ed's whooping and hollaring surely caught the attention of the village inhabitents. Many of them darted as quick as they could across the bridges back into their huts to avoid any collisons. A woman cried out and fell flat on her face when he barely missed her.
"Hey, watch it, Ed! Yer gonna hurt someone!" Eddy called out, convienently not looking where HE was going either in order to reprimand his pal. Still didn't make this any less fun, though, as he was scolding with a smirk on his face.
Man. It was SO GOOD to be out and running around with wreckless abandon.

Aya, going at the speed she was, was paying no mind to the state of panic that the residents of the Canopy City were in. Therefore, she was completely blindsided by Ed. The impact was comparable to the one time she crashed into the side of the Youkai Mountain (though she blamed that on her lack of experience with her Illusionary Dominance spellcard). As it was, Aya was sent spiraling off due to the impact, crashing into the side of a particularly large tree.
"Awk!"
Momiji landed, surprised. "Aya! What happen- Gyah!" Momiji, unfortunately, hadn't been paying attention to where she landed, so distracted was she; she landed right in front of Eddy, who crashed into her back. Momiji was sent rolling and bouncing off the "ground" (more like the wood) below, landing just a little ways ahead of Aya.
Aya slowly got to her senses, muttering "Ayaya... what hit me?"

"UH-HAHAHAHAHAHA--OOF!!"
As sturdy as Ed was, Aya was coming at him FAST. He too crashed into a tree close to her, falling and bouncing off of various thick branches in his descent with appropriate grunts of pain. He hit the ground face first with a thick THUD, and proceeded to lie still as if unconscious.
Eddy too, not spotting Momiji in time, collided and tumbled along with her in a whirling ball. When they did eventually stop, he was collapsed flat on his back, waiting for the trees above him to stop spinning.

Aya's vision stopped wavering as she recovered; though it did take longer than typical for her. Aya looked over at Ed, her eyes widened, and she said, "What the- is THAT what hit me?" Now slackjawed, Aya tottered (her legs still weren't quite right) and kneeled by him, checking his pulse.
"...Nothin' different. What is this kid? I've seen Youkai take lighter hits than this and have at least something broken."
Momiji, however, was still out. She was lying facedown on the ground, her shield strapped to her back and her huge sword... nowhere to be seen. Aya sighed to herself.
"Great... better take it easy for now..."

Just as Aya was about to stand after inspecting him, Ed popped RIGHT up on his feet, flashing his typical grin. "WOO! Wow, you hit me fast! I almost thought you were Eddy! ...'cept he's just a bit faster."
He blinked, then... "...oh yeah!" He dove down to where Eddy was collapsed, looking him over. "Hey, Eddy! You okay?"
"Du...dumbest... question... ever," Eddy grunted.

When Ed jumped up, Aya leapt backwards out of shock, her wings flaring open. Her jaw dropped as she watched him walk over to Eddy like he hadn't just taken a bone-crunching impact.
Aya pulled out her notebook and wrote this on it: "Taller boy is immune to pain. Immortal, maybe?" 'No, wait,' Aya thought to herself. 'The Moon Princess and Mokou are immortal, but they still feel pain...' She slashed through the latter part of her notes with her pen.
Aya then remembered about Momiji. "Ack!" She walked over to where Momiji was laying and knelt down by her. "Hey, Momi! You okay?"
Momiji slowly stirred, looked directly at Aya, and deadpanned, "What do you think?" She looked behind her, and panicked. "Aaugh! Where's my sword?"

Ed only laughed and grabbed his pal roughly, pulling him up onto his feet. Eddy stumbled a bit, grabbing Ed's coat to steady himself, then rapidly shook his head to rid it of the latest of its dizziness.
"What on--" He glanced up at the two girls, gaping. "...THAT'S what hit me!?"

Aya cocked her head to the side, eyebrow raised quizzically. "And that's surprising to you how, exactly?" Flipping to a clean page in her notebook, Aya started scribbling down some notes. She glanced over at Momiji and said, "By the way, Momi, your sword's in that tree over there." Aya pointed to another large tree a little ways ahead of them where, indeed, Momiji's large broadsword was buried in the trunk, up to the hilt.
Momiji dashed over to it and started pulling at it with all her might. In spite of her Tengu strength, however, it was to no avail. After trying for several minutes to pull it out, she became too tired to keep pulling and knelt on the ground, her ears and tail drooping in disappointment.
"Haah... great. I thought I was stronger than this..."

"Awww..." Ed frowned at her doleful demeanor, and, despite having practically plowed into these girls not moments ago, offered to help. "Allow ME!"
With that, he hovered up to the tree, inspecting the sword lodged into the trunk with immense consideration. Then, he grasped the handle, and with a good tug and an exaggerated grunt, he pulled it out.
With a smile, he brought it back down to Momiji. "Here you go!"
Meanwhile, Eddy glared at Aya and her... stupid smart mouth. Then she whips out a notebook outta nowhere! As if she wouldn't give him the time of day! What a brat!
He waited until she was well into her notes, then sped behind her, peeking over her shoulder. "Hey! What're you writing!?"

When Ed pulled her broadsword out of the tree with (what looked to her like) about half as much effort as she had been using, Momiji's ears and tail shot up in surprise, her jaw dropped, and her left eye started twitching slightly (all within a few seconds of each other).
"H-how-buh... wha- ...what ARE you?"
Aya, on the other hand, was only slightly surprised at Eddy's sudden appearance behind her (though if one asked her, she would've denied it outright). Looking over her shoulder, Aya said, "Taking down some notes about this crazy place. We've only been here for a little while and I'm trying to get some material for my articles. I'm a newspaper writer, Shrimpy." She then turned back to her notebook, internally smirking (One could picture a troll face on her quite easily), not paying much attention to Eddy's response that she knew would happen.

"Ohhhh, just yer average Super Child!" Ed saluted sloppily. "What are YOU? Do you like wearing wolf towels too? I got one back at home from my penpal!"
"Wha--" A vein popped on Eddy's forehead. "Who're YOU calling Shrimpy!? Hey!" He reached over and slapped the notebook out of her hand. "Would you PAY ATTENTION!? Geez, how rude!"

Momiji cocked her head to the side in confusion. "Wolf... towels? What are you talking about? I'm a Wolf Tengu." Momiji thought to herself, 'Super Child? What, like the Hakurei girl or that witch... or that boy from the Outside World?'
When Aya's notebook was slapped out of her hand, Aya just looked down, then back up at Eddy. Aya then deadpanned, "Well, that wasn't very nice." Aya then thought to herself, 'This kid is all too easy to rile up; it's hysterical.'

"Wolf Ten-gew?" Ed cocked his head, reaching a hand out to grasp at her ears. "Oh, wow! Does that mean these are real??" he asked in intrigue, inspecting them rather roughly.
"It's ALSO 'not very nice' to blatantly ignore someone, but you have no problems doing THAT," Eddy countered, crossing his arms defiantly, his expression saying 'I can do this all day, lady.'
