Physical Description: Eridan, like all of his species, has ashen skin and yellow orange eyes with black irises (or dark purple, debatable). He’s fairly tall as he appears to lack visible fangs when his mouth is closed, and he appears to be frowning all the time. He’s probably only built on his upper half a bit if anything since he lugs around/ shoots with a giantass harpoon gun, but is overall a stick-like body in any case. He’s also got a scar ALL across his stomach and back, he doesn’t want to talk about why.
Eridan dresses very flamboyantly for a troll, wearing a large quantity of rings, an extravagant, high-collared cape, and a billowing scarf. He has a purple highlight in his hair, making him the only troll to have hair that isn't black, and has crooked horns reminiscent of the Aquarius symbol. Eridan's fashion sense, in as much as the term can be used to describe how a troll dresses, could be likened to a combination of supervillain (the cape and jewelry) and hipster (the pants, shoes, glasses, and hair). The cape and scarf, along with the rotated bolt shapes of his zodiac symbol, horns, and hair highlight, also evoke a reference to Harry Potter, also implied by Eridan's obsession with wizards and wands.
Weapons: Ahab’s Crosshairs, or rather harpoonKind. previously a wand with the power of WWHITE SCIENCE
Abilities/Powers: Presumably as he Prince of Hope he is supposed to be able to use powers of the Hero of Hope, or something of the like. Although this most likely will only happen once he reaches God Tier.
Skills: He has the capability to keep fighting to no end and come up with foolish ideas while able to make everyone hate him.
Personality: Eridan has an affection for tales of historical leaders, conquerors, and military history. His passion for these extravagant stories of conquest and glory lends itself to his overly theatrical mannerisms and his massive ego. As a result, people tend to see him as a "bit of a tool". He also likes magic and wizards, even though he knows that magic obviously doesn't exist. This may be a contributing factor in his vaguely Harry Potter-esque appearance.
He loathes Land Dwellers and the litter they produce. His hate for Land Dwellers extends to such a level that he has devoted himself to killing them all, as a result of an overpowering genocide complex. He aims to achieve this goal through the collection of deadly weaponry, such as the absurdly overpowered rifle that he wields, and the pursuit of a functional doomsday device, one of which he solicits from Vriska. Much of his weaponry and resources were amassed through sweeps of extreme roleplaying, making him one of five trolls known to partake in that particular sort of game.
Kanaya says that he has a ridiculous accent, but what kind of accent this is is indeterminate, although Andrew has said that he pronounces his "vv"s (double v's) as "w"s. This is likely because "v" is pronounced with a "w" sound in Latin. Eridan also has a tendency to swear rather a lot - though not as much as Gamzee - and thus appears to not fully appreciate the moral guidelines that are lent through his royal heritage.
Despite allegedly hating all terrestrial life and being extremely dramatic about it, Eridan's tough facade crumbles when faced by, well, pretty much anything, which is an excuse for even more theatrics. When told by Gamzee that Sollux is dead, Eridan immediately felt guilty and stated that he felt like an asshole- which he kind of is sometimes.
Eridan, though firmly stating his disbelief in it, has a fascination with magic, going so far as to pester Rose for the purpose of "learning her secrets ". Later, he managed to pester Kanaya into creating a wand and training him in the ways of "white
magic science".
Eridan is also known for his strange nature of hitting on practically anyone really, and literally ANYONE. He’s got no one in his quadrants and is honestly one of the most desperate trolls in existence. He is also the world’s largest drama queen in more meaning than one seeing he is always in need of attention and feels like he’s the only one who ever makes sense.
However upon recent events of BEING CHAINSAWED IN HALF, He has regain most of his lost sanity during his time of death, but is now currently stricken with the fear of chainsaws of all kinds. His nature of hitting on anyone has likely reduced quite a bit as well, but he occasionally does it to those that don’t know what he did at the time. He’s rather jumpy as well, but only to a degree of twitching, he’s rather not relive that horrid scene.
History: As a grub, Eridan was chosen by Skyhorse to be guarded as his lusus as together they lived inside his Hive which was basically a shipwreck on an island. He grew up with an interest in magic, but slowly realized the idea was simply an idea and completely false. He gre to be close friends to Feferi as his duty at the time was to kill other lusi to help feed her lusus and keep her quiet to avoid the vast glub, but this was not done in a simple fashion. Both Vriska and Eridan often worked together in the slaying of lusi and trolls as he would kill the lusi to feed Feferi’s Lusus, whilst Vriska would take the remaining trolls and feed them to her lusus. This process lasted a bit as he was also apparently part of conspiracy which urged for a machine to wipe out all land dwellers.
He’s probably been feeling red for Feferi for the longest time as they stuck with moirail, but not long into the game he joined with his friends as the Blue Team she eliminated that, leaving him quadrantless. He’s always been desperate for more people to enter his quadrants, so honestly during SGRUB he’s been hitting on every living thing moving metaphorically and literally. His frustration was most likely vented in murdering all the Angels on his land, since it was the Land of Wrath and Angels they were actually his consorts. Now even with this difficulty he continued the massacre as he saved Nepeta and also battled with Sollux more than once. All in all he spent most of his time screwing around and killing stuff.
After the session ended he got stuck inside the Veil with just about every other troll as Jack was hunting their heads. As the prince of hope he was honestly the most useless and whiny troll of all as he kept asking Karkat for dating tips and whatnot, hiding his piles of shitty wands and whatnot. He even hit on Rose, ROSE. Anyways around this time Kanaya made him a wand with WWHITE SCIENCE, then leading him to give Jade his Ahab’s Crosshairs and trying to hit on her before he blew up her computer. He then essentially snapped and went on a murder streak after knocking out Sollux after an argument of joining Jack, and then murdering Kanaya and Feferi. Soon he absconds and finds himself face to face with Gamzee and Vriska ready for a 3X showdown. Unfortunately they are interrupted by Kanaya as she suddenly kicked Gamzee in the bulge off the edge, Punched Vriska, and then DEBUNKED his wwhite science wand, shortly doing the same to him with a chainsaw, killing him.
Now when he was wandering around the Dream bubbles, under some shenanigans similar to Nepeta he managed to fall into Dimensional Island, surprisingly with his Ahab’s Crosshairs back.
Other: He’s now otherwise frightened by most of the trolls now seeing as they hate him, but until forgiveness he’ll be wary of them.
